All of the Fiji islands are wonderful but Musket Cove is just that little bit better, made possible by the fabulous staff.

Overall, we had an enjoyable stay. The beachfront bure was nicely decorated, very large and overlooking the beach and ocean. We especially loved sitting on the patio enjoying the view. The staff was friendly and the pool was a nice spot to relax. However, the food was not great. The fish appeared to be frozen (surprising for an island) and the breakfast was the same underwhelming items day after day. There was the option to order eggs but they messed up my order so many times that I stopped ordering. Also, the first day, they had an abundance of fresh lilikoi and mango, but after that, it was the standard honeydew, pineapple, and watermelon. The Indian-themed night was delicious, but otherwise, we did not really enjoy the food. There's nowhere else to really eat except the island, especially if you get the all-inclusive package, so that detracted from the vacation. The hotel runs daily activities and tours, which were a nice option to get out and about. We enjoyed the complimentary kava ceremony and daily music. However, others were pricy for what they were. For example, the island hopping tour included dropping us off at Castaway Island for two hours and a little bit of snorkeling for 170FJ. Also, the sheets were very rough (my partner called them sandpaper) and there was broken glass in our shower upon arrival. Lastly, we were supposed to get a free bottle of wine on arrival, which was not there and we ended up having to ask twice to finally have it delivered.

Musket Cove was an absolute delight to stay at. It was always clean, the food was beautiful and the employees were welcoming and accommodating. Our room had everything we needed for a baby and the facilities were great to keep our family entertained. Musket Cove is a bit smaller than Plantation but this made it feel cosy and had more of a community vibe without sacrificing on the quality of the experience. Highly recommend this Resort and would definitely stay again!

We had to take the meal plan with no choice
We’re vegetarian and there was no options for us
The buffet breakfast was last night’s reheated food and it was awful
Lunch choices for us we’re a lettuce with a tiny tomato
Dinner was better but definitely not 4 star
The pool ladies toilet was disgusting and the seat should have been destroyed because it was beyond filthy
The beachfront Bure we had was the only redeeming factor but smelled badly

Wonderful holiday! The food was delicious, the facilities were great and the staff were incredibly kind and thoughtful. It was the most relaxing holiday weve ever had.

Musket Cove was a short ferry ride to beautiful Malolo Lailai island. The staff was amazing starting with a warm musical welcome. Grace was our host that checked us in and showed us around the resort. We arrived early, so she made sure we had a shady cabana by the pool which included lunch. We enjoyed the food at both restaurants and the buffet had a variety of food every evening. The bay in front of the resort was great for paddle boarding, kayaking, hobby cats, snorkeling and ocean walks at low tide. Don’t forget to book a massage on the pier. The beach front bure we stayed in was so nice with open air feeling with screens and louver. If you wanted the air conditioning, you closed up louvers and enjoyed the cool air conditioning. It had a large bathroom and sitting area with a kitchenette supplied with bottle water and filtered water for coffee or tea. They also have a small convenient store for things you may have forgotten or want to cook in your unit. My on recommendation would be to have a clothesline or drying rack in the bathroom or behind the bure for your wet items. When your trip is over, the staff sings as you depart on the ferry. Would highly recommend this casual, friendly, well maintained and comfortable resort.

We love Musket Cove Resort we can't wait to come back.

The resort compound is beautiful and the houses located at the lagoon are beautiful. However, we had serious problems with mosquitos. Also, the amenities were somewhat run down, the food rather simple and the staff while friendly didn't pay much attention to the guests.

Everything was fantastic. The food options changing daily were all excellent quality. Great activities and is the pick of the resorts in that area of malolo.

Maybe more beautiful than the pictures online. 5 star tropical island. Trips snorkeling a must. Be prepared to go up a dress size, as food is delicious and in abundance. Staff couldn’t be more friendly or helpful. Loved it, very romantic.

Beautiful location with amazing snorkelling just a 5 minute complimentary boat ride away. Friendly staff, huge pool, stunning beach, spacious bures and very reasonable prices. Would definitely return.

More kids than we thought on this side in the pool, which was a surprise because of plantation island being next door and more family friendly. There was no rain water tap to fill your water bottle which is a waste to use plastic bottles once. Jonah who organizes the surf trips was not very friendly or helpful
Other than that, the resort is really nice and quiet in the rooms, they are very accommodating on the pick up and transfer to Nadi and it was seamless.

I emailed twice before our trip to confirm they could cater for me being a celiac and Pescatarian, they assured me they could on both occasions.
I had no option for cereal the entire stay, they occasionally had gf bread and occasionally had gf pizza bases available.
There was really very little for me to eat and the options, well let’s not call them options because that would give the impression I had choices, which I didn’t really. We also had a late check out of 11.30, I think purely as I’d complained about the food situation that this was to Placate me somewhat.
Our last day with the 11.30 late check out our only day of sun so we headed to the pool, at just before 11 we headed back to the room to get ready for our boat transfer only to discover housekeeping remaking the room and had removed all the towels etc so we couldn’t take showers or in fact even get changed. I did tell them we had a late check out to which they said they didn’t know about, so we ended up doing our boat transfer and arrive at our new hotel in our bathing suits, not the most comfortable of days.
The service was hit and miss, Traders was the best, they at least tried to accommodate my food allergies, although once came rushing out after I had started eating my meal to whisk it away saying it wasn’t gf after all and then replacing it (after the rest of my party had finished their meals) with something I hadn’t ordered and was in fact so overcooked it was Inedible, but they tried.

Amazing high quality food, peaceful beautiful grounds and the cleanest resort experience I have had in Fiji, even more so than the five start resorts.

Nice and quiet place, I loved it

Great location for sunset photos and that's about it. The property is tired and needs lots of work. Many parts of the property require minor to major repairs and maintenance. Quiet adults swimming pool has been out of order and offline for years. The swim up bar in the main pool has been all but abandoned. Most of the staff were lovely, special mention to Cliff at reception, Adelaide, Oscar, and Job in hospitality. Food was just okay but nothing special; Dicks Place for average buffet food, Trader Café limited menu style meals. Highly recommend the Spicey Prawn pizza. Coffee was ordinary at both outlets. They do have a small supermarket type shop in the main reception building. The "island bar" was a great spot for afternoon sunset drinks before dinner each day. Activities were good; free daily snorkelling trip to the nearby sandbar reef was easy and fun, highly recommend the island hop trip FJ$85/pp for deep snorkel at Honeymoon Island then onto Castaway Island Resort for a look around. Also the Fijian night on Saturday night was a wonderful cultural experience. In summary I can still only give the overall experience a 2 star considering the AU$600/day we paid for a lagoon room and all meals included. I also feel that the owners investment in a large Riviera Motor Yacht is misplaced considering the difference that kind of investment would make to the resort. Not having a crack, just keeping things real people. Hope this helps inform your holiday decision.

Great resort.
We had a minor ant problem in our bathroom. We were careful not to eat food anywhere in the room & they kept to themselves, doing their ant things.

Really enjoyed our stay at Musket Cove (couple with no children). The staff were so nice and accommodating (Oscar at Dick's bar deserves a special mention). It is a beautiful place to just sit and relax. An itinerary is provided on arrival of the weeks activities that you can choose to participate in. Before arriving I was concerned if the included food would be enough for me. I did not need to worry. Buffet breakfast and dinner were amazing and the lunch options were also large and delicious. We will return.

The staff at musket cove are simply awesome. We stayed for 6 nights in the lagoon bure which was wonderful - spacious and had lovely touches.
Big shout of to the chefs here - we ate such wholesome food with fresh salads from the garden. Heaps of food at the buffet in dicks place, and traders cafe.
We loved our stay here so much - we extended for another night!

Great location. The island bure was excellent overall, albeit a little tired in some areas. Beds excellent. Our first time to Fiji and found the overall value marginal. $190 Fijian for a return bit ride. All in all we estimated about $1500 Canadian per day for a family of four excluding flights. Water is VERY warm and the inclusion of short snorkeling excursions and use of kayaks and paddle boards was nice. $45 a day for a VERY basic bike seemed a stretch. Vast majority of staff were terrific.

Very nice welcome at the resort. Rooms/bures are very spacious and equipped. There are mosquito nets at all windows and 2 showers, one inside and another outside. Freshly baked shortbreads filled in room every morning and very nice beach with free snorkel trips every day

Musket Cove was a great allrounder.
Although it’s not adults only, it was still quiet enough and spacious.
The property was beautiful, with plenty of activities and lots of amazing walking. And the food options were great.
My only feedback would be that during busy times it can be hard to find a spot by the main pool/beach area to relax, as the Cabanas and loungers get reserved, maybe a few more of these would be good so that if you do go out and do daily activities, you can still relax and enjoy the facilities after.

My only complaint about this superb resort is the enforced disconnect from the "real world" beyond. Sometimes we do need easy contact and access to information, even while on vacation. The resort provides slow and unreliable Wi-Fi access, but only in a few common areas. There is no Wi-Fi in the rooms. We struggled with this issue, but others may not care. Just be forewarned. We didn't anticipate the issue.

We stayed at the Island Villa, and it was stunning. The room and resort was clean and the beach was beautiful. Service throughout was excellent, though we did see some ants in the room, but this cannot be avoided in Fiji.
4.0
Firstly a few of the restaurant staff were fabulous.
Arrived to find the lagoon bure we had booked was
not available and were offered an "upgrade" to a smaller and much older room , " beachside"- actually garden bure. We were not the only ones this happened to. Nobody should have to be in tears and prove their booking on arrival. Paid and booked 7 months ago. Very Unprofessional. Management need to spend money on the accommodation - the bures are very tired ,moldy bathrooms and shutters, dirty timber furniture. Food very ordinary and constantly running out of basic items. Feel very angry, and we travel a lot ,so we know 4 star when we see it, this was not even close. Cant use the words I would like, beyond disappointed will have to do.
