The staff was helpful and available 24/7, I couldn't have asked for a better service considering the few mishaps I had before getting to Marseille.

Nice team, small hotel re furbished

Great location. Unbeatable views from the upstairs eatery.

It's more like a youth hostel than a hotel. Or maybe a hotel run by college kids. It really brought back memories of travelling in Europe as a kid! Even though Expedia says there's air conditioning, there isn't, so you have to leave the windows open. Not a problem except: 1) you in one of the noisiest areas of France (street musicians played in front of my window until midnight and police sirens all night) and 2) the mosquitos are as big as olive pits. It's kind of like camping in the vieux port of Marseille. I've heard the 'free' breakfast is good, but no one came to serve us. No bother, there are plenty of good bakeries within walking distance. There's discounted parking a few blocks away, but the discount didn't work for me. Anyway, we felt like college kids on a Eurail pass again!

All Good except No hot water in the Morning,, Very cold

Great location, friendly staff, beautifully modern room, but can be a bit noisy with the A/C on.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. This was a stopover from a cruise to a flight home& as such I had a lot of baggage. The first floor checkin has been mentioned before but the staff were exceptionally helpful in getting my bags to/ from my room. Rooms very clean & modern design with a view that can’t be beat over the old harbour. Double glazing cut out all noise from a busy area on a Saturday night. Air conditioning controlled by reception staff so ask if too warm/cold.

The concierge was absolutely superb, helpful, and friendly. We loved the beauty of the area and the many things to do.

Location. Nothing I disliked.. very clean cosy and comfortable

Great location, superior view, friendly service.
Rooms are a bit used, but you cannot notice it because of view from windows )))
Very poor breakfast - the only disadvantage I have found.

Hotel is in a fantastic location with great views from the rooms and bar. Rooms and bar were great. The service we received at the bar and reception were equally great. The only slight issue is access. The car park that is available at a discount is a bit of a walk especially with cases and the lift available in the hotel does not drop all the way to the entrance. You have to climb roughly 15 steps to the reception where you can access the lift. Otherwise really enjoyed the stay and would definitely stay again

The hotel location is great. The room was comfortable and clean with a great view of the old port. Very quiet. Be mindful that reception is one flight up and no lift to reception. There is a lift to room floors. If you are looking for a clean and comfortable room you will be ok. It’s not a 4 star but definitely 3+. Restaurant/bar on premises but service not the best. We tried to order tapas as that is why we were told was available but could not get waited on. Breakfast service was very good.

Fantastic location and great views! Very helpful staff. And the well-stocked bar was pure character and ambience - with the most amazing artisanal cocktails imaginable (can you say daiquiri framboise with dried rose petals as a garnish?!) The breakfast was lovely with especially delightful baked goods. Unfortunately the newly installed elevator gave out one of the days, but it did look as if they were working on its repair - and who doesn't expect a lot of stairs in the old cities of Europe? We'd go back!

Located at center of Marseille & walking distance to Metro, restaurants, cafe & shopping area. Beautiful Old Port view from our room. Serves good breakfast. However, floor carpet need refurbishment.

Charming place and quaint rooms with environmentally friendly policies in place and local products for purchase. Nice view of the marina. Great WiFi!

Not a hotel for frail or mature people, for hot weather or for anyone concerned about safety. There is no operating elevator. It is 70+ steps up the stairs to a spartan but clean room on the 4th floor. No help with luggage. The air conditioning did not work and I guess not just for us -the evidence suggests the people before us had no A/C either. It was unbearably hot, but opening the window meant intolerable noise. But too bad, because no technical help was available to fix it. And no willingness to offer an alternative room, though an intolerably noisy fan was offered the 2nd night. Worse, the automatic lighting did not work when climbing down the stairs, a true safety issue. But nothing to be done, no technician was available for that either. These are totally unacceptable conditions for a hotel as expensive as this one. The staff were polite but unable or unwilling to do anything about the utterly unsatisfactory experience in this hotel. The management reply to our complaint was simply unresponsive. Do not stay in this hotel, despite its great location. There are others in the old Port of Marseille. They might live up to their advertising.

The location and view from our room was great. There is currently no elevator ( building it now) it was very hot and main stairs have no air. I had to carry suit cases to third floor, no offer of assistance from staff although I could leave one with them. Air conditioning in room was non-existent. I asked staff to check it they said it was fine. It was hot, slept on bed no covers. Room was a bit run down but clean and bed was ok.
With the addition of the elevator and improvement to air conditioning it could be a great location.

The room and bath were clean and very nice with a view of the harbor. The location was great and it helped that we arrived by taxi, otherwise parking might have been an issue. The hotel is close to the Panier district. The staff helped recommend a restaurant and made reservations for us. We only wish the hotel had an elevator as the reception was one floor above ground level and the rooms began on the next floor up.

Though staff was nice and helped us, we had to lift heavy luggage upto the 5th floor because there was no elevator!

Room a bit small but lovely position

Our main complaint about this hotel was that the staff did not tell us that the air conditioning was not working when we checked in. I do understand that things fail but they should have told us at the point of check in so we could have considered our options. Marseille in late June is VERY hot and I had selected the hotel partly because of its price and location but also because it had air conditioning. We got a free breakfast its true but I would have preferred a good nights sleep.

Hotel is in great location but its very old , room 2x 2 meters and bathroom 1x1 meter . No elevator so if you are on floor 5 enjoy the walk with your bags . Arrived in evening , no hot meals served . Just a bar open , . Checked out after approximately 6 minutes and went to another hotel .

This is a pleasant hotel in the right location for a short visit to Marseille. The hotel itself seems as if it is in the gradual process if renovation with some areas looking tired and some not. As the temperature was in the mid 30s we thought the room air con on full was not as effective as it should have been. I loved the toiletries and the idea that you could rent beach kit - perfect for a short trip. The restaurant was excellent with seating overlooking the harbour, we had an excellent lunch compared with other restaurants (our usual experience is that hotel onsite restaurants can be expensive) Overall a good stay with excellently helpful staff at reception and in the restaurant.

Excellent location. I was given a room on level 5 - 115 stairs and no lift.
Thankfully the male receptionist offered to carry my suitcase up to my room.
Small room with low ceiling. Maintenance is required on the air conditioning and lighting. Unable to use desk as no lighting. No room for suitcase, behind door, so could not open the door fully.
Bed was excellent.
Hotel has enormous potential with good decorating and thoughtfully planning.

Stellar location but it was noisy because there is a bar/restaurant on the second floor.

Great location on the port, lots to do, friendly, helpful staff. Bar at hotel, La Caravelle, special place to end day. Room clean, view wonderful.

The location is excellent....right on the Old Port and near many restaurants, the fish and flower market, etc.

This hotel is in a great location but there are no elevators. We had an amazing view if the port. The room was not very big but we were only there one night. There was no onsight parking but we very easily parked the car in the public parking lot for a very small fee. Our reservation was not done correctly and she innitially said she didnt have any rooms available so we had a small moment of panic but finally she found our booking which was not entered correctly on their end so she offered us an upgraded room at no extra charge.

Comfortable. Very pleasant bar and breakfast room overlooking the harbor. Helpful staff.

This hotel is fantastic for it's location. Every room has a view out to the old port and it's literally in the middle of things down there. We walked everywhere and had easy access to the metro lines. The rooms modest, but clean, well furnished, and comfortable. The staff helpful, the bar/restaurant on site, adorable. They even offer beach day kit: towel, hat, and mat for a very small price.
3.8
Its hard to beat this hotel for location with the harbour view out of your window, the markets, many interesting tourist locations within walking distance and plenty of restaurants in the area. There is also the fantastic bar in the hotel itself for a night cap or to enjoy your breakfast in the morning,

The Hotel Belle Vue has a perfect location right on the old port. Each room as at least a small view of the port and Notre Dame de la Guarde. Easy access to sights and trains. The room was no larger than a postage stamp but it was wonderfully adventurous and quaint. Great for a getaway. Courteous and friendly staff. Lots of nearby restaurants.
