Wonderful place, great location and lots to do. Especially loved the heated pool, jacuzzi and sauna.

The most wonderful hotel. Beautiful villa. Friendly helpful staff. Superb food. Perfect!!

The villa was amazing. Not often a resort is exactly as shown in the photos but this was. The accommodation was spacious, spotless and had everything in it we needed for our stay, probably better equipped that my own home. Had a large balcony as well as a patio which was lovely. The resort on the whole was quiet, safe and had great amenities - free bike hire was a bonus!
We were self catering but did try the restaurant/bar and the food was great.

Fantastic property, conveniently located in the heart of the Gold Coast of Portugal - just a short drive both to Benagil cave area and to rocks of Lagos. Highly recommended!

Fantastic resort, we had a 2 bed apartment that was spacious, clean and comfortable. Nice swimming pool with plenty of seating and umbrellas for shade. Staff extremely helpful.
Just the most wonderful of venues.

We spent ten nights at Vale Da Lapa and loved it. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the villas are very big and well equipped, not to mention absolutely spotless and cleaned daily for those staying 7 nights or more.
The onsite restaurant has a decent menu to suit most tastes and we found it very useful when we couldn’t be bothered to venture out for dinner.
The pool area was spotless and my kids loved going from pool to pool.
The onsite playground is also a nice touch and ideal for my 7 and 5 year old. It’s a shame the kids club won’t take kids under 6 otherwise my two probably would’ve gone.
The gym is small but does the trick if you want to do some cardio.
We rented a car and went to a nearby Aldi to get some groceries which was handy. We found Carveiro Beach too cramped for day time sunbathing and you couldn’t buy beds or umbrellas but it was buzzy and fun at night, we bought pool toys and got my daughter’s hair braided there. We also visited Ferragudo for a couple of dinners and Portimão which was nice for an evening stroll or if you fancy an ice cream.
Overall we loved VLD, and have decided we’d love to return next year!

Family Holiday - resort was perfect, great pools for kids, Villas modern and well equipped, daily cleaning services leaving keeping the villa super clean. Overall services was amazing with fun activities for families ( paddle, basketball and football courts). Short drive to city centre and beach. Highly recommend this resort.

Ok this property was probably the best one I have been in the last 10 years.
The bad first
The swimming pool is made all in some kind of cement/stone who hurts a lot when you go in or out. It's an issue because my kids were complaining about it and beside the mini pool for baby (which is made with the same material) they were out of depth unless on the stairs and the stairs cause them lot of scratches.
The food is very good but the menu is not that big so after few days you are bored with the food which is however very good. Definitely top stuff, not your usual all inclusive buffet.
That's it everything else was amazing 5 stars, the staff (all of them) were all kind patient, I never seen any of them doing a remark a sigh or anything but smile and helpful attitude.
The villas are somptuous, very big for a holiday villa. Air Con, Flat TV in every room, super absolutely clean, brand new kitchen, all rooms have ensuite bathrooms.
I mean it's just a super super holidays for a family!

2 bed villa was spacious and comfortable with beautiful gardens. Small resort with personal and relaxed atmosphere. We enjoyed padel and pool facilities. Gym is small with limited equipment.

Top quality accommodation only surpassed by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food :)

Very spacious villa, clean and well equipped. The shared facilities were also good - nice large and clean pools, spa, paddle tennis and mini Astro for football, with equipment to borrow. Nice breakfast if you purchased it, and possible to order meals and drinks throughout the day / evening. We had a car so went out for dinner most nights and had some outings during the day. Guests were lovely, mixed nationalities, family friendly.

Nice property. Made accommodations to view the Euro final. Restaurant service was very slow. Breakfast buffet in the morning was great.
The restaurant for dinner was a let down. Over an hour to get our food.

We absolutely loved everything of our 5 night stay from the moment we arrived at the front desk. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful with such professionalism. The grounds are immaculate and our 2 bedroom 2 level accommodations were 5 star plus. Everything you could need or want in the kitchen including a full size fridge a lots of fine living space. Will definitely return and would highly recommend.

Best hotel I have ever stayed at. And that says a lot as I have travelled heaps. The hotel and atmosphere were so relaxed and welcoming and they did everything for us, we didn’t even ask for. Such a relaxing holiday. Best ever

We had a wonderful relaxing week at Vale da Lapa in April with our two young sons. The villa was spacious, well equipped and cleaned every day if you want it to be.
The swimming pools are great and the boys loved them. It was quite quiet the week we were there, so we often had them to ourselves. We also used the spa facilities and these were great too.
The restaurant had a good menu for lunches. We didn't go in the evenings, so I don't know about the menu for that.
The staff were really friendly and really happy to help with anything, including sorting out our airport transfer that had not confirmed our return trip.
If you want to explore the area quite a lot then you will probably want to get a car. We just went into Carvoeiro town a couple of times, which is about a 5 minute drive and about €5-10 in a taxi. It has loads of great restaurants and a lovely beach.
We loved our stay and would love to go back again.

It’s a lovely resort with great staff. It’s a bit unlucky that the restaurant is under renovation now but we can still find some good restaurants nearby.

The property was in excellent condition, well maintained and well equipped. Nothing bad from us.

We loved all of the the staff who were all very friendly and accomodating! We loved how quiet the property was. The units are spacious. We liked having full kitchen and laundry in the unit. Liked the patio and balcony. Loved that all the windows had moterized sun shades.
The swimming pools were all fantastic. There was ample sun bathing spots. Liked access to the main bar.
The units are in need of an update. Poorly patched holes in the walls, couches stained and had rips in upholstery. Furniture was old and needs an update to the decor. The restuarant only served one fixed dinner meal. The bar menu for food was mediocore.
3.0
The cleanliness of the room was not the best because there was a serious ant problem in our room. The shower in the main room floods pretty easily and we have used towels to clean up the mess. The staff did not want to replace the towels because they are a “green hotel” and was reluctant to do so until I insisted strongly for new towels. Getting dinner at the hotel is difficult… you need reservations and it should be DAYS in advanced. They did not give suggestions for alternatives and offered us “snacks” instead. We had a baby with us, so many of these things were just very inconvenient. If you’re staying at this hotel, I would recommend getting a car since it is not the best location and not near anything.

I’ve stayed in several resorts all over the Algarve and Vale da Lapa Village Resort has to be my favourite to date. From the accommodations to the service to the food, everything was amazing. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. It has a very homely feel, the other guests were super friendly, it almost felt like home away from home. Location wise it’s a 15/20 minute drive into Portimão which isn’t bad at all. Not too far from Albufeira either. There’s a small supermarket a 5 minute walk away which is super convenient. Easily 10/10. Will most definitely stay here again and tell all my friends! Thank you to all the staff for making our stay a memorable one. ❤️
