Only about 10 rooms. Very limited parking, one night i had ro park on the street--but it was easy and very secure.

Booked a stay here because 4 families needed rooms and they had them available. We usually look for good prices so booked based on the price. I looked at the star rating so felt ok about booking. The day before our trip I actually read the reviews and became nervous to stay.
Those reviews were accurate. Like others said, upon check in the lady at the front desk showed me a list of names and asked me to point to mine to cross it off and handed me a room key without checking ID or reservation. I could have pointed to any name! We found our room and were greeted by a tiny room with broken blinds and the door to the additional bedroom was stuck/broken. Our family member booked the same room and theirs was much larger. It was bare minimum, but had a working tv, towels and beds as described. The room was just not well kept, bent up lamp shade, taped up blinds, holes from where I assume curtains used to be. We’ve stayed at many cozy budget hotels but this was felt very uncomfortable.

Just a quick leisure trip overnight. This hotel was just so nice. The owners were a sweet couple, friendly and helpful. It is a simple place but you could tell care was taken to keep it clean and in good order. I would stay here again.

It was ALRIGHT. We stayed close to their outdoor seating area and some other visitors were out until 11pm smoking weed and listening to loud rap music. I called the front desk multiple times and no answer. I went to the office and the older Indian couple acted like they couldn’t do anything about it. The AC in the room was very weak and didn’t really push out cold air even on the highest setting. I was ok I guess. Could have have much much better.

Unusual check-in, in that woman at desk had to call someone to check me in and then that person had to take my Visa card # via phone in order to charge me extra amount for dog.

Nice place to stay. Came with 3 adults and lived being able to shut a door between the 2 beds. Nothing extra. For example: Keurig but no k cup coffee pods. Fridge and microwave, but no safe. Lots of outlets, but some are exposed ( I will post pictures). Nice bathroom but dingey shower curtain. Doors between rooms were very thin.
All in all, the lady upfront was nice and to the point.
Would stay here again. Location was wonderful. Several restaurants and cafes within a 5 minute walk. Parking was free and plentiful.

Great service & communication. Helped us when we showed up early. The place is cute and a great location.

Nice hotel and atmosphere. Very close to the beach, and a very comfortable stay.

Well the pictures were completely deceiving. The Palomar Inn had a 7.4 good rating, the cost was right in the middle of Pismo Beach hotels. I thought it was odd when I checked in and there wasn't a deposit or any other amenities. When I opened the door I was in complete shock. The furniture looked like it came from a garage sell. The TV was mounted on top of white mini refrigerator, sheets had stains, the towels were gray and I when washed my hands and the sink wouldn't drain!
I called Expedia the first person said sorry I can't do anything but I'll give you $50 credit. The hotel owner called me on my cellphone and started yelling at me calling me a liar. I went to the front desk the little old lady who looked scared of her shadow put the male owner on phone who also yelled at me even though I was showing him pictures of the room. After another 90 minutes sending pictures Expedia agreed to give me $200 of my $313 back. By now it was after 9 and dark. We proceeded to drive for a hour driving down 101 frantically calling hotels. At 10pm I found a room in King City.
What did I learn: 1. Never book with Expedia 2. The Palomar Inn is worse than a slum and 3. Always get trip insurance!

Very cozy. Comfortable beds.

There are pros and cons to this place. Pros, bed was comfortable and location is walking distance to beach. Cons, not the cleanest, bathroom and room are super small. Can’t even walk around without bumping into things. Zero counter space in bathroom, no full length mirror and shower is barely large enough for a child. Nice people but won’t be staying here again.

The room wasn't very clean when we got there. I complained and they cleaned it right away. The door to the room was very hard to open you had to put your whole body in it.

We have stayed here multiple times...they are inexpensive and usually have clean rooms.. This time the bed was obviously not changed, which brought some suspicion..but the changed it when asked and the rest of the stay was normal...if you are looking for nice, this is not it but clean and cheap usually.

Nice location. Nice basic room.

Great property, staff, and room. Also it was nice that we could have our dog with us. I have really enjoyed my stay here and will be back next time we are in Shell Beach :)

Very friendly/helpful staff. One lamp didn’t work and they promptly replaced it. Lots of clean towels and toiletries in room. Beds comfortable and rooms good size. TV was high tech. You can tell the place is in process of getting upgraded cosmetically and it looked nice. It was so peaceful, several great restaurants/quick bite places right there, and easy stroll to the ocean. Meis Chinese food is the best I’ve had in awhile. Go there! And take some time to sit on the patio across from the office. The fire pit and furniture made for a cozy respite. We will definitely return.

This is my second stay at this particular hotel, and I can honestly say that it is very nice. I love it. The people are very friendly. The rooms are excellent and it’s definitely somewhere I will come back to.

The staff is not available at night besides by phone. Nothing changed after a noise complaint was made. The walls are really thin.

When I got to check the lady had to call someone to help me. The she than passed me the phone, man on the other end asked what I needed I explained to check in. He pass the phone back I did. She than had me write my name out. She had me keys an told me my room number. Next morning trying call from room phone an person to change payment method and no one would answer phone or lobby door. We have stayed here before but this time was so unprofessional. The last 2 times we had very nice upgraded this time room was missing all upgrades that prior rooms had. We love this location but after this stay it was probably our last.

This hotel was inexpensive, but it was clean, with easy access to the freeway. It was also quiet. Which was nice. It was only a 15 minute drive to the San Luis Obispo airport, which is why I stayed there. All the hotels in San Luis Obispo were way over priced. This one was perfectly comfortable. I would definitely recommend it and stay here again,

Decent place to stay, nothing fancy. The location is close to Pismo Pier, beach access close by and easy freeway access. Staffs English was limited but very friendly and promptly replaced broken microwave.

This was a really special place in a wonderful location! Lots right around the corner! You will be happy!

I stayed over the weekend and was dissapointed. Start with the positive: cute, clean, convenient location. The opportunities: small rooms, tiny bathroom that looks as though they started a remodel but failed to complete
The work completed in the room looks as though it was a DIY upgrade. Outdated medicine cabinet, broken toilet paper dispenser, caulking around the sink was on electical appliances
Provided an iron, but no ironing board
Towles were rough.
And a sign informing you they do audits of
My ID wasn't verified at check in i was handed a list pointed to my name and given the assigned key. No receipt was offered at check out.
Not horrible but I would not book again.

The air conditioner did not work and it was so hot my guest had to leave because she didn’t feel well! The staff said I didn’t need air 3 people came to look at it but nothing! I had to wait to go to the room till it cooled off just to be able to breathe! The floor was dirty! Very difficult to understand the staff, and they don’t seem to know what they’re doing! Awful experience! Never returning!

Quiet Beautiful Stay 🙂

There was nothing unique about this property. The room is basically a box with a bed and shower. In fact, the shower is larger than most hotel showers!

Amazing location!

I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt like I needed to tell the world how wonderful my stay was here. This was exactly what we needed for our 1 night trip— cost effective & clean. Extra points because it’s located directly next door to a yummy coffee shop. Walking distance to a liquor store.
I want to write this review because the woman & man (the only two employees I saw during my stay, & I regret not getting their names) were both beyond kind & accommodating. I will definitely stay here again because of their kindness. Thank you both.

I was reading reviews and I’m not sure if they are under construction but from what I read to what we experienced was totally different and in a great way. Cute little room for our one night stay and just the two of us. Super close to the beach. Needs curtains! We had a well lit room with lights off and blinds closed. Other than that it was great.
