Charming small hotel just south of the city centre (Vrijthof). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and very spacious, old-fashioned exposed beams, nice view of street below, comfortable bed, free tee & coffee, bathroom amenities as expected. Slight downside was the breakfast not starting to 8:30 which conflicted with my work conference some days, but was very good for the days I was able to enjoy it. On the other hand the location was great for proximity to restaurants and bars during the evening. The train station and conference centre are also not far away.

wonderful stay well looked after room was clean and was in a quiet part of Maastricht but still in the centre and with easy reach to all areas.Lovely breakfast in a delightful room that has plenty of history.
Well worth looking at the art work before breakfast!!

We stayed here for only one night but it was fine. We had a lovely big room which was decorated with really interesting pieces of art but was also very practical - the doonas were light as a feather which made for a very comfortable sleep. The owner was very pleasant man and the breakfast was fresh and varied. Only drawback - no lift. But then I was warned before I booked that this was the case.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and relaxed. We had two dogs and, unlike some hotels, were made to feel welcomed rather than just tolerated. The hotel is quite close to a (smallish) park, so dog walking was easy. The hotel is also close to the centre of the old town and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel has a small number of parking spaces, about 100 yards from the hotel, which costs around 16 Euros a days (I think this is around half the price of the public car parks in the centre). They also offered directing us to another public car park that cost around 6 Euros a day but would have been further from the hotel. If you want the convenience of hotel's car park I suggest you reserve this when you book, especially in high season.

The hotel is a small townhouse with just half a dozen rooms, over an art gallery on a side street just a few meters from the city center and the university. Our room (#6) was a spacious double room (twin + king bed) on the top floor. Extra clean rooms - my only complaint would be a little bit of soap smell when we came in the room. It was very quiet (Sunday night) - the top floor is lucky because no one walks on top.
Service was great - after we booked through hotels.com, the host called to verify the number of beds that we needed, and followed up with the code to retrieve the key from the downstairs lockbox (there is not a 24-hour desk). We didn't get a chance to try the breakfast, but the room was bright and filled with art and looked delightful as well.

Very clean. Quiet location. Only negative was noise of others above or on stairs. This is to be expected since it is an old house.

Wonderful hotel. Wonderful breakfast. Close but not too close to places to go.

Beautifully renovated old house in Old Town. No lift but worth the walk up 4 flights of stairs! Room was large and modern with new bathroom yet full of old charm. Very clean, friendly and helpful staff. No a/c but a fan was supplied in the room. I highly recommend this hotel.

Superb accommodation in a great area of Maastricht. The place is brimming with interesting art and the staff there are very helpful.

A great hotel in a lovely part of town. Connected to an art gallery full of beautiful pieces. Indeed, breakfast took must longer than normal as there was so much to look at! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I am looking forward to my next stay already.

Nice, comfortable hotel. In historic center of town, close to many restaurants. Everything is within walking distance. Staff very accommodating. Wonderful breakfast!

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was in a great location next to a cafe and within walking distance of many restaurants, cafes, shopping, and the main sites. The room and bathroom were very clean as was the rest of the hotel. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed I have slept on while traveling (European beds are usually too firm and uncomfortable for me). The parking was a small fee extra and a convenient small walk from the hotel. We didn't see the staff when we checked in because it was their day off, but he left a note and we were able to get our key from a lockbox out front and he was available by cellphone when we needed him. He and the lady that checked us out the next day were both friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would stay in it again.

The hotel is really "artistic" there are pictures and sculptures everywhere. It is really cosy, and the hotel staff is particularly friendly. The room was big and clean, however the double bed was not very comfortable, because it consists of two joined single beds which splited easily, so we had to be careful during the night?

The hotel is at an unbeatable location. It was a little noisy because of the wooden floors and the lack of insulation in an old building. The staff was welcoming and joyful.

Very cute, boutique hotel. Excellent location just a few minutes walk from the Vrijthof. The surrounding cobblestone streets are beautiful and the hotel is not far from the Centrum shopping area. Also, James, the proprietor, was very accommodating and welcoming. The art at the attached gallery were really interesting as well!
Note: If you take Room no. 7 at the top, be prepared for a steep hike up the stairs but the room is definitely worth it!

Excellent location in Old Maastricht. Unique small hotel environment (above an Art Gallery). Only issue is no elevators, so pack light to carry it upstairs. Excellent breakfast served in the old chapel, very helpful staff, a modern, spacious room in an ancient part of town. 15 minute scenic walk from the train station, down the main street, across the River Mass, and through the walls and parks of the old city. Great dining and pubs within 2 minutes walk on all sides.

The hotel owners were very nice people and friendly. However, the bed was virtually on the floor and the very small cold bathroom had a shower with a very high step in (maybe 18 inches). The stairway leading to our room (no lift, which we knew in advance) was very narrow and hard to negotiate, even with (only) carry on luggage. In reading the reviews we expected nicer accommodations, as these were quite plain. They were more utilitarian, no frills - even by European standards.
