Perfect location, on the "island" of Lubeck! Quiet street, with parking (paid) nearby. Very tiny room, but nice window opening onto the garden; great bed; very quiet; small bathroom, but functional. Super friendly staff, very welcoming and ready to help. Great breakfast in bright room over the garden. Loved it!

Great location, excellent breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Room was small but clean and well supplied. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice hotel, very central in the old town, but still with a good parking option near the hotel. The breakfast is eally good. The bed matrasses were a little bit on the hard side for our liking, but still very comfortable hotel, with friendly service. Would highly recommend it.

Located in a pleasant part of the old town, the rear overlooking the lake, this is a modest two star hotel. There are over 20 rooms across four floors and so there are lots of stairs to climb for some guests - not a problem for me but could be for some. My room, 19, was quite spacious and well-equipped and overlooked the lake. The decor and furnishings are a bit garish: bright orange, lime green and red, which seems to be deliberate rather than odd taste. The buffet breakfast has a good selection of dishes for a hotel of this size. My only slight misgiving is that, being family run, the staff to guest ratio is quite low and when several guests were trying to check out the reception staff seemed overstretched.

The hotel has an inspiring colour scheme throughout, which really differentiates itself from other hotels. It's focus on quality and service is reflected in this together with the staff's friendliness and attention to detail, e.g. The food variety and home-made items at the breakfast table are just fab!
The lack of an elevator, which means that suitcases need to be carried up and down the staircases, makes the hotel up by it's high standard of hospitality.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

I'll start off by saying that the breakfast at this hotel has everything you could possibly want to eat as you wake up. It has a wide variety of cheese, fruit, bread etc so many things to choose from. The room was on the fourth floor so it was a bit hard to get to especially because we were going in and out several times. Running upstairs is common in european hotels but this one was a workout. The room was clean and it was nicely decorated. Parking lot is down the street and paid.

A very cosy and homely hotel, with helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with many alternatives and cooked-to-order eggs. The rooms were very colourful and somewhat run down, though clean and had all amenities.

Charming and well-run small hotel within 10 minutes of center of Old City, itself close to various local attractions. A family hotel, freshly and imaginatively decorated, with an excellent breakfast. No lift.

We had very nice stay in Hotel zur alten Stadtmauer. Hotel people and breakfast are very good. And the bed is comfortable. Just one small thing. Our room is in the ground floor, and the bathroom is down in the basement. Though the bathroom is cute and functional, but the layout had few inconveniences for us, because it needed us to go down and up while we're in the room very naturally. But probably this type of layout is quite normal in Lubeck. Suggest the hotel owner could advise the guest in advance, which would be better. Except for this, we have wonderful memory of it.

Absolutely amazing. Kind, friendly staff and many personal and touching détails right down to the smiley face on the cappucino. Wonderful breakfast. Tasteful and beautifly kept. Full tchotchkes and not a fleck of dust !

Stayed here for one night. Had a single room on the top floor. The room was bright and very clean, but no shower or toilet. The WiFi was sometimes a bit weak. On the bright side the breakfast was one of the best I had in this trip and there were multiple WiFi spots around the old town (I guess they have a few routers doted around). Would stay here again, just maybe not on the top floor and in a room with a bathroom.

If you need a hotel, this is a great choice. We had a top floor room and enjoyed a wonderful view. Easy access to the city and all there is to see. Great bar on the corner with outstanding snitzel!

A quirky, colourful family owned hotel, everything was good, staff very friendly and helpful. It has its own parking but loading and unloading slightly difficult owing to narrow street. The only down side was the stairs (we were on the top floor) but the staff helped me carry my cases. The breakfast was also one of the best we had.

I had a room in the guest house - a historic building, which was renovated with much love and care. The room had a good size, a coffeemaker, very nice wooden furniture and a surprisingly big bathroom.Breakfast was very good. The only downside: a steep and narrow stair case, no elevator.
