Acceptable price for special event in Dortmund semi final Euro 2024. Thanks for that

Check in was quick and easy, and reception was friendly, and fortunately for me, spoke good English. Free parking, and a tube station next door. Single room for me, very basic, but fine for Two nights. Not much in the way of entertainment around that part of Essen, however the tube station helped.

The bathroom was a little dated but my room was quite spacious and comfortable and very good value. The young lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. My only real criticism would be the location of the hotel, as it is further from the centre of Essen than I had anticipated and located in an area with no nearby dining options so far as I could discover.

All well except issue with check in time. On hotel.com u can book ur room 24x7 but this hotel allows check in during working hrs & after that to get entry in hotel is tough task !! All entry has door lock which u can open up with code only but code wont be available until u check in so its great pain ;-)

- Internet doesn't work if you're too far from the main building.- Careful when you book, they fail to specify that some single rooms don't have bathrooms so you end up spending more on the spot if you want one.- Breakfast must also be paid for (all the above info wasn't specified when I booked).Other than that hotel is OK for a night. Nothing to do in the area.

Ok to get your head down once you get in. Nobody speaks English and the location is poor. I was working near skyways convenient for that but nothing else.

Stayed in the hotel for 10 minutes and left looking for another hotel. The twin rooms are actually a bed and a sofa, and the room were in a terrible stay with a soggy smell around the room.

Stayed here for a champions league match at schalke vs Chelsea. Hotel is great location for Essen or Gelsenkirchen with underground station 10 yards from hotel. Clean rooms, comfy bed, good shower all made it very good value for money.

I had room 207 (shared bathroom). This was facing the street which was pretty noisy due to traffic. I was not allowed to swap rooms. With the windows closed, I could not hear much noise from the street though. I could hear a lot of noise from the room next door. The room was clean with a sink, desk, wardrobe and TV. Wi-Fi was free but not password protected and sometimes had poor bandwidth and dropped connections. It worked well enough for sending e-mails and basic web surfing. I had a lot of trouble using the electronic door lock for my room, in particular turning the door knob. If you have arthritis or other problems with your hands or vision then I think it would be even more difficult. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is right next to U-Bahn station Kaiser-Wilhelm-Park. If you go up the first set of stairs from the platforms, then turn right and go up the second set of stairs, the hotel is right by the exit. It is less than 10 minutes from the main train station (Essen Hauptbahnhof). From the Hauptbahnhof, take U-Bahn 17 in the direction Karlsplatz or Gelsenkirchen Buerer Strasse. A word of warning for the train - the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Park station is one of the less busy stations and if you do not press the button to request the train to stop then it may go right past the station (which happened to me!). I was attending an event at the Essen Conference Centre and it is 15 minutes by train from K-W-P station using U-Bahn 11 to Messe West-Sued/Gruga.
