Not bad but unfortunately the food was not up to the standard we have been used to in our previous visits. Dinner could not really be described as "fine dining" and breakfast was a bit uninspiring. The garden room is lovely but the mattress was a little bit too soft for my taste. Service is still good however.

Super location. Comfortable room. Great food. Great history.

Fabulous stay in this characterful hotel with amazing views, excellent breakfasts, attentive & helpful staff. Walks from the doorstep along the estuary (car not used); boat trip to bird sanctuary - and seals; pretty village with selection of shops and riverside tearoom serving wonderful fresh crab sandwiches: perfect.

Great spot and wonderful staff. Not sure about the rooms in the actual hotel but the room we had situated in the outbuilding were very tired and in desperate need of an update. Unfortunately the bathroom wasn't very clean, and for over £200 per night, a little disappointing. Food in the restaurant in the evening was very good, lacking atmosphere but overall a peaceful evening.

We got there a little early and they were unbending in enforcement of the check in time, which I thought was a bit unfriendly. Once in our room at 3:00 sharp, it was a good stay.

Very cute rustic but clean and renovated. Stayed in one of the cabins. Very comfortable and good sized with a small porch in the back leading to a nicely maintained garden. Staff are friendly and happy to help. Missed the dinner but the breakfast was excellent. The village is tiny with not much to do.

Unfortunately on our first night there was a break in. The glass in the back door of hotel was smashed. Our neighbours in the garden rooms told us someone had come into their room. We spoke to housekeeping and said we were concerned. We suggested chains on the doors could allay fears. That was not going to happen. We were given a chair to prop against the door!!!!

Excellent all-round for an overnight stay while attending a concert at nearby Snape Maltings. Stylish, comfortable room. Professional and friendly staff.

Really beautiful property set in a tranquil location. We stayed in the Keep, which was simply beautiful, our room had a private terrace that faced the castle so we had amazing views. We also enjoyed a couple of wines outside in the evening out there.
The food was superb, we’re green tea drinking vegans, so we’re used to being treated as an afterthought, but the choice and quality was amazing.
The staff were all friendly and jovial, which is incredible considering the hours that they work.
The beds were the comfiest I have ever slept on in any hotel.
I absolutely loved my stay, and I can unequivocally recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of staying.

Really dog friendly. We had a lovely garden room with direct access to a garden . Beautifully decorated with Uber modern bathroom, and thoughtful dog treats, towel etc. Super cosy hotel with fine dining and the best choice breakfast we’ve ever seen! Charming professional staff who were most attentive and accepting of our small dog. Orford is also a delight with lots to interest.

Our second one night stay over the festive period in one of the garden rooms. The room is spotless with a large comfortable bed. We had dinner in the main house and the service was excellent and the food really good. The presentation of the seafood risotto could have been better but the taste was still good. The sea bass was however well presented and was tasty. Just to top off the service, I forget my trainers and they are sending them back to me by post.

A fabulous stay. The warmth and attentiveness of the service made this a great experience. We stayed in the dog friendly garden rooms which were spacious with nice touches for the dog. The food here was excellent. Breakfasts made to order and we also ate in the evening which was equally good. Beautifully curated interesting art in the walls.

The staff were extremely kind and helpful but the room could have been cleaner and it was extremely expensive for such a basic room.

Given the price charged, the facilities in the room were extremely basic. It was very dated and needed to be redecorated. However, the staff were absolutely excellent.

The staff at the hotel particularly the gentleman who welcomed us were attentive and friendly. Unfortunately the room was tired in places and could have been cleaner. We got an excellent rate but if I had been paying more then I would have been disappointed.

Perfect place for a short break. Orford is a charming village - we loved the caste, the Quay and the Pump Street Bakery - and the Crown and Castle is a jewel of a place. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, and the staff were friendly and helpful. A great place for foodies: our dinners and breakfasts were excellent.
