Yes, it IS all its cracked up to be! The most beautiful hotel in Chennai, with helpful and friendly staff and incredible food from MANY different ethnicities (not just North Indian and South Indian, but also Italian, Chinese, American, and others). I travel to Chennai multiple times a year for work and this hotel has made my time away from home SO much easier. It took me a week just to explore all the beautiful nooks and crannies of the first few floors, and the serviced apartment was a wonderful place to live, with everything you may need to cook a meal in the full-sized kitchen, plus a washer/dryer, a gorgeous walk-in shower, a comfortable sitting room, plus a deep and relaxing tub. I cant say enough about this place... its an "experience" on its own!

From check in to check out absolutely a wonderful experience. Very beautiful property. Huge palace kind of a place. Room was very clean and simply gorgeous. Amenities are excellent. They thought of EVERYTHING you may need. Bed was very comfy. Room was spacious with so many storage, safe deposit locker, mini fridge, coffee maker etc.Breakfast was unbelievably good with so so so many varieties of items including Chinese, continental etc. And the BEST part was the staff. Each and every member of the team was extremely courteous , friendly and went above and beyond to serve, help and comfort us. Can’t thank them enough. We absolutely loved our stay, enjoyed every moment there. Would definitely recommend chola to everyone. Please don’t think twice , just go ahead and book . You will have a great time I promise.

One of the best hotels I had the pleasure staying. The rooms are clean, the hotel staff are all very courteous, and the food in the hotel restaurants are great as well. Just a pity i didnt try avartana. Prolly next time. The spa experience was alao fantastic!

Huge property with excellent dining options. Breakfast Buffett had a great spread. The spa was excellent. Good location. I stayed in a serviced 2 bedroom apartment - it was quite spacious. A few more utensils / knives would have been useful. Overall a wonderful experience - will stay again!

Stayed for this time vacation in Chennai . Was blissful and super quiet. Stayed in the chola residence apartments had full kitchen and other amenities. 24/7 Cafe and dining options covered cuisine across the world for your taste palate . I'm glad it was only one night. Despite asking for a quiet room away from the construction, and despite the fact I had paid for a premium room type, they put me in a room looking right into the scaffolding, over the noisy street and the subway line. Then they moved me - right down the hall, with the same noise issues. On the third try I got a room on the other side of the hallway, but it was still noisy thanks to activity in the hallways at 2:00 in the morning, and the airplane noise. The facilities are dated, under renovation, and generally cold and sterile, as is the service. This is a big mid range hotel that is okay if you don't need quiet and you can't afford Leela Palace.

Property is not clean and not up to date with technology. I reserved an apartment kind of room which had very bad phones and no ipad/tab. Whenever I called reception for any help (primarily to book a car) they said they will call me back and never did. I had to call few times to get the service. They provided some towel arts in my room which was fantastic. Other than that this hotel is not even worth getting a 3 star.
