Really fantastic stay, great location! The flexi half board was brilliant and plenty of choice. I would have given 5 stars however they have a no pool bed reservation policy, however by 08:30 all of the beds have been reserved and also not in use for many hours with no effort to uphold this policy at all so unless your down before 8am there’s no chance of a bed by the pool.

Our stay at the Place Hotel was very nice. Great room (actually small, but it hardly bothered us) and a great pool area. We find the flexible half-board option really great, but unfortunately, there was very little choice for vegetarians. We would particularly like to highlight the massage by Dragana. We haven't been massaged so well and, above all, in such a relaxed and courteous atmosphere for a long time. Thank you very much for that!
4.3
We were totally awed by the place. Staff bent over backwards and the management is doing everything it can to be eco friendly. We definitely plan to return
4.3
Not sure if we would return. Positives are breakfast was good and varied, location is good if you want somewhere beautiful and quieter but then the hotel counteracts that with playing awful loud music. Paid extra for sea view to only see trees. Rooms are tiny and bathrooms have not been updated in the refurb, just tiles painted. The food was pretty awful for lunch/dinner and they had run out of most things on our last night due to a delivery/order mix up. Service was also hit and miss. Our shower didn’t drain and they did sort it promptly, however on the day we arrived they were very unhelpful with providing support with getting from Stari Grad ferry port - the shuttle bus was booked in for service so tough luck we were on our own. They should have provided discounted taxis for guests if the shuttle (advertised on their website) was out of service.
4.3
Pleasant stay with everything you need and more for an island break away. Hotel has loads of activities which we didnt even get to as we were exploring all the other things on the island and neighbouring islands
4.3
The most disappointing and worst resort experience of my life.
This place is a total joke of a hotel. Very few staff that only service you via a QR code ordering system. Broken A/C in the unit where we were given generic responses but it never got fixed during our stay. Snarky responses from staff. Sunbeds (the only seating) that are part of the hotel near the water are additional charges. Exteremely far away from downtown Hvar with cabs that charge you 80 euro to get back and forth from the hotel.

After the crowds of Split, Places was the perfect resort for our group of 8. The property is thoughtfully curated for young people and young at heart. Great technology is used throughout the experience. We saw a lot of firsts at this resort. Also, the included breakfast was a hit. It was fantastic. The rooms are small but efficiently designed. We could not think of a more magical place to stay in Hvar. Stari Grad was so much better than staying in the extremely busy Hvar Town.
4.3
Bad food. Noisy rooms. Staff was not happy at all and one night we waited about 20 mins to get a watered down drink. We both got sick after being there.
4.3
This hotel did not live up to the marketing campaign. This is a party place, for example we used the noisy air con system to drown out the music outside at 11pm. At £200 + per night it is very expensive and not a place for relaxing. The beds are uncomfortable and rooms look like a slightly upgraded premier inn. The bathroom did not have a refurb and brown paint slapped on the tiles.
If you’re a young couple and looking for a party scene it would be a great place to go however if you’re looking for some tranquil and chill, it is not.
The food was expensive so your 25 euro allowance disappears instantly. Although, having said this, the food was good quality and the breakfast selection was epic.
Strari grad is a beautiful village but the Americanised hotel does not match with the beautiful character of the village it is and the respect it deserves. The hotel location means it is only a nice scenic 10 minutes walk.

Before you start reading this I am working my way through 7 excellent reviews of our travels around Croatia for our honeymoon. We selected to stay here for 2 nights and it was the low point of our travels. The name and photos of the room we chose were very misleading. Described as “seafront” but not at all close to the sea our room was on the ground floor looking out onto some grass with no view of the sea at all, we had to keep our curtains draw to stop people walking past looking into our room. It was also incredibly small and cramped, we could not open our suitcases on the floor. The ok looking bathroom in the photos was not what we got at all. It was tiny, with a leaking shower, with the most basic of everything. I have given a high rating for this hotel being eco friendly, this is based on the fact that they have a single bar of soap wrapped in cardboard that serves as your hand soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Despite being eco-friendly this isn’t pleasant for guests.
At the front desk they offer shuttles into town and to the ferry port but these run so irregularly it’s not really an option.
The pool was nice until they started playing loud house music that you couldn’t escape. Staff are generally uninterested and the whole hotel seems to be designed around as little interaction with guests as possible. Breakfast selection was good as was location
Ultimately, our time here was the low point of our honeymoon despite being in the most beautiful area. Avoid.

Far and expensive to Hvar, 2€ charge for beach towel change (so if it was dirty and you stayed 5 days, you had to keep or pay), no phone in room so you have to go downstairs every time you need help or are missing towel or things in room), not much variety of food
4.3
Really nice place. Very expensive to buy food and drinks. A little bit isolated. Dodgy electrics in every room

Best hotel I have ever been to. The island is so peaceful and picturesque. The hotel is just a chill place to stay with amazing vibes. The fitness coach Sasa was amazing and offered SUP yoga every morning outside regular schedule.
4.3
Excellent property. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Highly recommended. My daughter and I danced to an excellent DJ. The pool area and location is fabulous.

Very cozy, fun atmosphere, beautiful with planty of beaches around. Fantastic live music and disco music all day long. clean rooms. helpful personel. Easy to get to Hvar town for addition experience.

Had an absolute amazing time at this hotel last week, the location right next to the beach was brilliant. The pool is an amazing way to have a relaxing time. Although slightly on the small side, the rooms were very clean and having a balcony was nice. The spa was very enjoyable and also very well priced.

We had a wonderful experience at Places. It is a beautiful property with a great vibe. What made it even more enjoyable was the staff. Martha was wonderful and gave great tips on places to visit. Miheala was a great concierge and planned a wonderful wine tasting excursion for us. We had an issue with my bank card and Marissa went above and beyond to fix it. I cannot say enough about the team of people working in the hotel!
4.3
Buffet breakfast was good, lots of selection. The ordering was awkward at first but once you figured it out was fine. Easy walk into Stari Grad

We loved our stay!!
This hotel is fantastic and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. The half board concept works fantastically and allows complete flexibility. The food is very good and breakfast included also fantastic, this is buffet style but includes everything from continental to cooked to oysters to fresh juices and more!! The rooms are clean. The staff really make this place, always very helpful. The entire hotel pretty much runs off an app you download on checkin so that may cause some people issues although I am sure the staff would help. We had issues with transfer when we arrived however on the way back to the ferry the hotel organised this and was only 5 euro each so would definitely recommend contacting them to do both ways.

Very nice everything

Fantastic resort with spacious, clean, quiet rooms.
Beach area is nice with a shower. Free extensive breakfast and 25 Euro voucher per person per day for food and drinks. Staff was polite and helpful.
Only complaint is that they charge guests extra for umbrellas and chairs on the resort property on their own beach. That wasn’t cool.
4.3
The amenities at this resort are amazing! The access to both sea and pool are awesome, food/drinks are great and the staff were so helpful. Amazing experience! We loved the shuttle access to hvar town and the walking distance to Stari grad!

Brilliant hotel. Excellent surrounding and service from all staff. Will definitely be back. Xx

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and can’t recommend it highly enough. We travelled as two couples in our thirties and found many other guests were a similar age profile to us.
The hotel itself was is very stylish - perfect for those Instagram shots! It’s set in a great location, about a 15-20 minute walk into quaint Stari Grad and right on edge of the sea, so you can easily jump in and cool off. Stari Grad is a lovely town and we explored there a couple of evenings and had some lovely meals. I’ve stayed in Hvar town before and this is definitely more chilled and suitable for families.
The food at the hotel was great. Loads of choice at breakfast and we were very impressed you could help yourself to sparkling wine! The flexi-board option worked well and we found there was plenty of choice.
Each afternoon there was a DJ by the pool which is in keeping with the vibe of the hotel but in the afternoons we found the bass a bit heavy. It would be great to have a bit more of a chilled vibe for the afternoons by the pool.
The staff were all great. We found check in/out a little time consuming, especially when checking out with additional charges for food and drink to the room.
Overall this is a great hotel and with the flexi credit, we felt it was really good value for money.

All over very impressed with this fabulous new hotel! Pool and garden lounging is amazing - even three hot tubs for you to use! Breakfast buffet is great huge selection. The cocktails were a real highlight! Dinner is a bit disappointing, it’s self service and can get very hectic on a busy night and sometimes you can wait for 20 mins standing to be served then a 30-60 minutes waiting to collect your food. Ruins the feeling of dining out to be honest - more like a fast food restaurant. Food was ok near enough the same menu every night. Hotel is expanding and a lot of building work surrounding the hotel but we never even noticed until you walk down the coastal path towards town (which takes about 10-15 mins). We thoroughly enjoyed hiring one of the kayaks and kayaking to Vaiana beach for lunch. Staff very friendly and helpful and we even decided to book an extra night!
4.3
Rooms were functional but comfortable, although paid for a "superior" size room it was still on the small side. We had the half board flexi package which we could use for eating lunch/dinner & for drinks, which we liked. Breakfast was excellent. Lovely pool area and access to the beach, liked the location 15 minute walk to Stari Grad, or hotel boat taxi.

Overall a nice hotel better for adults than families.
Family rooms very small and air conditioning took a while to kick in.
Considering it’s a new hotel still areas that need to be finished not as clean as other Valamars we’ve stayed in number of stains on corridor carpets that could have been cleaned

Very nice property, right on the ocean. The only complaint was the small amount of chairs and seating around the pool and ocean. People were coming to the pool very early in the morning to put their towels on chairs, otherwise they wouldn’t have a place to sit. That is my only complaint. They need more seating- lounge chairs.
