Perfect place for a relaxed sun and beach type holiday in an area with shops and restaurants but not the crowds of a big resort. Very friendly and helpful reception. Possibility for direct bus to San Marino (bus stop outside the complex). Beach costs to visit (€20 per umbrella) but is safe and the water is clear. One slight annoyance was being forced to purchase a tight fitting (headache inducing) swimming cap to use the pool, but the pool was never crowded and. there was a life guard always present

The property is in a very nice community. We were there in the off season so most of was closed. The condo was comfortable, safe, and clean. The only point that was undesirable was that the bed was very uncomfortable.

Picture is of residential apartments where you have access to the pool. This is not where you will stay.
Accommodation 400m-750m away on the other side of the marina, backing on to the railway line. The trains run through the night.
The interior also bears little resemblance to the photos.
There are no pictures on the walls. No throws on the beds, no cushions on the sofa in fact no soft furnishings at all.
You are advised at check in not to operate the different appliances at the same time to avoid tripping the electric!
The buildings them selves look run down and in desperate need of a whitewash. The marketing of these apartments is so misleading. Three star at best.
The service on reception was however very good and the bars and restaurants around the marina are excellent.

When I booked there was no mention of having to pay 10Euros a day for Air Con usage! The whole complex is in a great location but looks very run down and in need of a facelift.

1,4 kilometer to the Beach and 750 meter to the swimmingpool was very dissppointing. The pictures on the site gives a wrong impression as you are not Staying at the hotel apartments but on the other side of the harbour far from the beach. Having small kids it is a long walk every day!
Besides the beach is private and you are only allowed in if you pay extra euros every day. Or you can drive to a public beach. They did say the could rent us bikes, but with a three year old girl and air madresses???
Anyway the reception was other than that not helpful.
The apartment though was nice with good elements. And had there not been ants all over it would get 5 stars.
After two days we moved to another hotel with no surprises. These apartments are not suited for families with small children who want beach or pool close by.

A self contained resort with about 3 good quality restaurants and a bunch of generic cafes, although a bit pricey for what they are. You will need to walk about 20mins to Misano the nearest town for some more variety, or get a regular bus from close to Porto Verde which only takes about 5 minutes. Its a bit of a pain with a toddler/baby in tow.We were about the only English people there as its mainly locals that own flats/yachts there, which is a refreshing change. I got by better with my pigeon German than English a lot of the time but as usual pointing at stuff gets the job done.Saying that, the receptionist spoke excellent English and couldnt do enough to help us out.Room was decent, nice balcony overlooking the marina.Depending where your room is the pool can be a bit of a trek, about 10-15min walk but is generally quiet and nice enough, although too cold for my tastes. The beach is also private, and costs €13 for 2 sunbeds and a parasol if you mention you are staying at the hotel, so if you plan on doing a lot of beaching it can add up. There is a public beach a bit down the road which is free, we didnt try it out though.Overall if you dont mind some walking or travelling for stuff to do its perfectly nice but understand this isnt your typical hotel resort. Its more like an Italian gated community vibe with some nice restaurants but you will get bored if you dont venture out and may find it annoying dragging kids along.

Ok apartments, nice view, but not 4 stars, more like 3 stars. Photos are photoshopped. But we had very nice balcony with view to marina, enjoyed evenings ans breakfast. Staff were very friendly, the most friendly we met in Italy. The area is looking a little bit shappy, but inside marina and around marina there are restaurants and few shops, nice place. Pool area is nice, alltought it was about 400-500m from our apartment. We loved to have bicycles during our visiting, there are very good bicycle paths to Cattolica (appr. 2 km). Quite good minimarket, with friendly staff. Anyway, Cattolica were more pleasant place to visit than horrible Rimini. But in both towns you hardly see the sea. There are thousands and thousand sunbeds and umbrellas near to each other, didn't liked it.

brilliant! and amazing value for money. I'll be staying here again next year for sure.
Its a bit of a pain if you arrive after 6pm as you have to wait for the night watchman to give you the keys, but it was only 20 mins wait and he was extremely helpful.
if you've got a car then you get a secure single garage to park your car in at no extra cost.
highly recommended.

The only problem with the hotel is that we didn't have the heating for 2 days so the nights were very cold.

Relaxing stay in quiet oasis of Portoverde Marina with beach, pool, bars and restaurants all in walking distance; busier resorts of Cattolica and Rimini on your doorstep, as well as Italian culture in the surrounding towns - highly recommended.

family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children ( oldest 12, youngest 2).The office to check in opens at 3 and is situated in one of the shops inside the port.
Staff are extremely helpful. Yes, they do charge extra for Linen and A/C (12 euros pppw for linen but you can negotiate a deal for A/C) and a 50 euro deposit which you get back in case you trash the place. 2 complimentary bicycles are also available as is the swimming pool pass. The staff also have a wealth of local knowledge. The beaches are private (about 15 euros a day) but the free ones are 3-5 km away in the car, as is the big co-op supermarket.
Things to bear in mind- it's a port, people moor their 2nd homes
here so expect to pay more for food and drink. Supermarket ok, not a great choice but more than adequate for your first few days supply. You can buy swim hats here (for the pools) for 1 euro 50. You could always bring your own or pay 9 euros at the door. Noise - well yes, it's a complex outside a busy city with an airport. If you want remote italian apartment full of local culture and rolling hills as views, this place is not for you. Expect to hear planes and train noises. The apartments have electric shutters and they also make a noise. We live in a village with a busy road and under heathrow's flight path. Can't say I could tell the difference much! Wifi: 1 complex,a thousand people, multiple devices.Worked better outside than in. Clean and well furnished

We had a wonderful time in Portoverde. It's a lovely quiet marina, close to the busy town of Cattolica. There are around a dozen cafes, restaurants, a mini supermarket, newsagent, gift shops in Portoverde itself, which - for us aiming for a relaxing holiday - was enough to chose from. We also took our 10 and 8 year old to the go karting and the mini kids evening play park in the town. We went to the beach and the sea is very safe - there are some blocks in the sea, presumably to protect against the quiet marina traffic - which work perfectly to keep the waves calm, the water depth is around 150cm, which meant it felt safe to let our kids play on their inflatables, without worrying about them going out to sea or out of their depth. We took day trips to Rimini, and spent a couple of nights in Bologna. Portoverde was very Italian, in as much as most other holiday makers were Italian, who perhaps owned apartments - with no other English speakers there at all in Augus. Made it all seem more holiday like for us. This was our first beach holiday with our kids, and we'd happily return. It was reasonably inexpensive, and more a sitting out at a restaurant/café of an evening kind of a place (although we did notice two 'gentleman's' clubs which seemed out of keeping with the place, and didn't cause any bother to us). Remember to budget for using private beaches - 2 sunloungers and parasol around 75 euros a week (daily rates available).

The website did not provide an accurate view of it's location in respect to the Misano train station. For those tourists not use to living clos to rail lines you would find it quite noisy.
