Great location! Right in the middle of everything. Wonderful staff! I’m always impressed when the staff can remember your name.
0.5
Hotel booked was under renovation with massive drilling works from 5am till 5pm
Suggested I move to sister hotel which I did
Sister hotel the tv did not work, I said ok let’s move in as I needed to have shower and meet people
After resetting tv multiple times they brought in technician and I said I only had a few minutes before I shower and head out
Translating did not work and I asked them to leave so I could get ready
Staff assured me it would be fixed by the time I came back, it was not
They ended up moving me to a double single bed room rather than a king bed room
Still no English news channels as written in their hotel guide
The staff were nice and helpful as possible, this was a huge management fail
Breakfast was not as good as other reviews say either and restraints is not open after breakfast

We booked the room because it had a terrace. Unfortunately it was unusable because of the construction in the neighbouring house it was full of dust, but overall the room was much nicer on the pictures than in reality.

Excellent location in Hanoi old quarter. Walkable to many tourist spots including train street . Literally 100s of eating and shopping options right outside. Easy access to airport as well. Great friendly staff, clean luxurious, well maintained, stylish rooms.
Lee even helped me with forex at a great rate.

Our room had no windows or balcony so we felt a bit like sleeping in a bunker. Location is perfect.
2.5
Nice hotel, well located. Room was very big for a family of four and we were upgraded to the one with a large balcony overlooking the street
Some construction on the street but no noise at night.

Really enjoyed our stay here -- my friend and I spent 3 nights! The location is great -- right smack in the center of the old quarter and near the lake -- there's a yummy dessert spot opposite the hotel. Lee was very helpful and kind and they also helped us book a great tour (they booked Sunrise cruise for us).
We asked to move to another room with windows and our request was granted no questions asked.
Thanks Lee and Mai!

Basic sanitation was not provided. Shower heads didn’t work. Bathroom overflow when showers. Dirty and smelly room. Construction nearby throughout the night. Checked out after one night.

Mai is the best. Very friendly and helpful. All the staff also friendly and helpful.

Great location in the heart of old quarter. Super helpful and friendly staff

I would recommend to my friends.

The building construction next to hotel kept us all up throughout the night with the banging and cementing It was horrible experience.

I had the worse experience with this hotel, after staying in various hotels in my 4 weeks of travelling in Vietnam.
At reception i was made aware that it was my lucky day that they still had the room booking for me as booked by third party, they don't trust even though they had my card details
As i entered the hotel, awfully, musky smell hit me.small staircase to 4 floor and no help, both shower heads broken, waster going every where in the bathroom, musky bedsheets.
I have stayed at many hotels on Vietnam as mentioned before but this experience was one to forget!
I don't know why it was given i think the rating was 9. I'm getting it completely wrong or the reviews are not genuine

Of all the places I stayed in my travel, this got to be the worst customer services. The reason I stay here was at my sister recommendation which I will share with her my experiences. Although I didn't expect the hotel to be what I'm used to staying booking through Hotel.com, the place was acceptable for the night. However, when we booked for a bus ride to Sapa, the clerk was more than happy to help us. However, what I learned on my bus ride after talking with other passengers on the bus was that he charged my group almost double what other passengers paid. Granted the amount is not much as everything is cheap even what we paid for the tickets, however, since the advertisement on the hotel state that they arrange for transportation at the cheapest prices which I take their words for, I learn that the employee that arrange for the tickets does not have any integrity and leave me a with a bad taste for the hotel. I would definately no recommends any one to stay there in Hanoi.

It located in an old quarter of Hanoi. It's convenient by walking. However, it was too much noise. The hotel offered too little amount of shampoo and soap. The safe was kind of weird, I locked it but I couldn't open it. I was sure I knew my password code.

Good central location, helpful friendly staff speaking good English, the room was small and cozy but with only small window with no view.
There is building work going on next to the hotel and it starts early in the morning but not loud enough to spoil the stay.
2.5
Because of construction next door, we were placed in a larger family room away from the noise at no extra cost. It is a good clean hotel with friendly staff.

Ms. Mai made this stay amazing. She was the best. THE BEST!!!
3.0
Ms Mai and Lee were wonderful, very informative they warned us about the noise of construction and where very apologetic.
Hotel itself was very run down and the rooms are very small.
The internet was bad and the safe had no power. It only would unlock with a master key from the front desk.
Shower head had only a trickle of water, and the sink faucet sprayed all over the wall and mirror. The towels were wore out and thin.
The people were excellent but the property was disappointing.

Excellent location. Within walking distance to all the main attractions in the Old Quarter. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and in good enough shape. Just a few notes of caution: 1) don’t book tours through the hotel - prices are much cheaper online. 2) don’t book rides to/from the airport through the hotel - the shuttle bus and taxis are much cheaper when you arrive. 3) don’t drink the complementary bottled water - you might get charged for the free water and it is much cheaper to buy bottled water from a convenience store.

Excellent location, right in the heart of the city. Relatively quiet considering how noisy the area is. The host and staff were very friendly and helpful. Great value.

Mai was very polite and professional and really was focused on pleasing the guests. She certainly went beyond her required duties to do so.

Loved my stay at the Ambassador Hanoi Hotel & Spa, Hanoi.
Ms. Mai, was a great host and took really good care of us.
She also managed to book us a last minute but lovely cruise to cover Ha Long Bay.
Totally Recommend staying at this property and rest assured you will be well taken care off.

Ms. Mai is a fantastic host and travel guide. She was able to arrange transportation, help pick tours, and advocate for us when things didnt go according to plan. If you visit Hanoi ask for Ms. Mai.

We went for a family New Years escape. Our manager upgraded our room so our family was able to stay in the same room. She also arranged for food and city tour separate)., and also a day tour tour to Ninh Bin. Not even more expensive than doing it yourself, and way more convenient. People everywhere are friendly. I might add the service and conversation was delightful. If I go back to Hanoi I would be back for a home away for home feeling.

Ms. Mai took excellent care of me and my family. Due to construction, she made other arrangements for us and ensured we had a clear understanding of our options. This was handled with outstanding professionalism and care. She continued to help me organize spa treatments during our stay. Highly recommend this property! Outstanding service

I had a great time at my stay at the Ambassador Hotel. The staff was the best part as the bellman and manager, Mai (sp?) really went above and beyond to make sure my needs were met or exceeded during my stay. The rooms were in good shape and kept clean. I was worried about the noise at first since my room was facing the street, but no problems at all. Thank you for making my stay in Hanoi so pleasant!

Not quite a hotel. More like a homestay. Photos are not so accurate anymore. The rooms are clean and service is familial. However, we did encounter electrical outages whilst with them; and their spa is no longer in operation. Decent stay, but moderate expectations. Right smack in Hanoi Old Quarters and within easy walking distance of everything though.

We booked an executive room with a balcony but upon arrival we were told that there was construction so that room would be too loud. So they put us in a “deluxe” room which was a downgrade. And on the way to the room, we were also told there was no hot water. The room was tiny with a small window looking into an ally and a tiny grimy bathroom. The bed was old and uncomfortable. The next morning we decided to leave (we were supposed to be there 4 nights), and were then told they could upgrade us—which they should have done in the first place. At any rate we left, and for a bit more money we stayed in a glorious hotel around the corner for the next three nights. I noticed that the room we booked was still available on the website, so I wonder if they were purposely overbooking. I would avoid this place.

3 stars but service is very good. The foods in the morning were all delicious and they were made right after ordering the main menu. You can get a massage for a fee and it is one of the best reviews in Hanoi. The famous restaurant is right next door so you can visit anytime. This is a good location to go somewhere else.

I travel every month for leisure and business. I usually stay in Raffles Hotel in Cambodia, Sofitel Legend Metropole in Hanoi, Mandarin Oriental in HK, Four Seasons in BKK, Shangri-la in Jakarta and KL, Westin in Seoul, Hilton in NYC ... Since all the trips I booked for this vacation would only pick us up from hotels in the Old Quarter, I chose Hanoi Trendy Hotel & Spa based on the excellent reviews. Indeed, it is a gem!The service from the staff, especially Nga, Lukas and Johnny, was superb. They were very sincere, helpful and polite. I had some hiccups with a trip caused by the agent I booked with, Lukas helped me to sort it out although it was already close to midnight. Nga helped me to make all the restaurant reservations including our last minute Xmas dinner and all the popular restaurants were already full, she kept calling restaurant after restaurant. When we return from our Sapa trek, Nga and the Bell Captain came outside the hotel to receive us. They even put a handwritten Thank You card and gift on our bed on the last day of our stay. There was so much more they had done, I just couldnt pay enough compliments. The breakfast the hotel prepared for us to bring along on our trip was so nicely packed that the guests from other hotels (including luxurious hotel) on the same trip were very envious. The service from Hanoi Trendy Hotel surpasses the luxurious hotels I have stayed in. It is perfect! I will definitely return and also recommend it to my friends.
