Great location and our stay was perfect.
The room was nice and cozy. Easy walk to restaurants and shops.
We will definitely stay here again!

The stay was ok. the building needs an update some furniture, amenities falling apart. Toilet water pump kept getting stuck after flushing, had to keep removing lid to fix in order to be able to flush

That was unfortunately one of the worst nights we have spent in a hotel. The worst part was the chemical smells that permeated everything. Its great that they clean things, but we couldn't even breathe without feeling sick. We tried to air out the room for a while while sitting there being very cold with the door and windows open, but it did no good.
We talked to a nice employee, but she said there were no more rooms available, so we couldn't change, although I'm sure they use the same cleaning products in all the rooms. It was late and we were tired and we only booked there in the first place because it was the cheapest room in town, because we only booked a week in advance and every good deal was already gone. And it was $300! Way too much!
And the bed was horrible. It was old and way too soft and bouncy and every time we moved it made sounds. I thought it was the springs squeaking, but my husband thought it was plastic under the sheets.
The furniture was old and shabby, the walls needed painting, the comforter was old and crummy, and everything smelled like strong chemicals. It was almost impossible to sleep.
The shower worked fine. But why was there only one washcloth and one small towel for 2 people? There were 2 bath towels.
If it was $100 a night, it would still be awful but that would make a little more sense, but we paid $300 with no changes allowed! Outrageous.
Will never stay there again. Please use non-toxic, unscented products.

Motel is very rundown, with tape on the floor, scuff marks on the walls. It’s drab and depressing. No artwork on walls. It was clean, but just very old and in need of repair. No USB ports to charge my phone. Not worth the $200 a night!

Good for one night. My wife and I had one room; son-in-law, daughter, and 18 month old grandson in the room next door. When sitting on the foot of the bed mattress, the top of the matress flipped up because of the weight causing us to almost fall. No tissues in the room. Room next door had a light that went on inside the room when there was movement. Caused them to stay awake most of the night.

It was close to Samarkan where I was visiting my parents.

It was nice and comfortable.

Maintenance is lacking. Duck tape holding the flooring down. Refrig is in the closet instead of the spot in the cabinet.

Easy, quick check in and check out. Quiet for a downtown location. Room was clean and reasonably well appointed. Only negative is the room needs to be repainted; several areas on the walls were badly marred.

Effectively what we needed for the night

Decent little motel in a convenient location in the city. Great little coffee shop next door (Vices & Spices). Room was comfortable, little run down but expected for an old motel. Overall good experience.

My friend and I stayed one night at the Sunset motel as we were attending a wedding at the SB courthouse. We were comfortable and have no complaints about the property.

And useful option

Hotel doesn't feel safe with transients walking by screaming & yelling in the street & area the outside
area of the rooms.
The staff barely say a word & can't answer anything
you ask about the hotel service.
Room is old & dingy looking nothing like the pictures in their ads.
We will definitely not be returning there again.

The owners have been refreshing and updating the property. A few minor things need attention. Had fridge, microwave, coffee maker iron & ironing board and tv Safe location.

After extending my stay by paying through the app, the front desk manager told me that I had not yet paid. I showed her my expedia receipt and reservation confirmation, she continued to tell me that I did not pay. I asked her if she thought I was lying or if the receipts were fake? 20 minutes later she changed her mind! Incredibly rude and inconvenient.

Since downtown Santa Barbara doesn’t have many hotels, this motel was a good cost and a good stay. It was quiet, although there were construction workers above me however they were quiet after 9 o’clock, so yes, this was a nice motel. The only thing I suggest for them to do is to secure the bathroom window because there were no locks on them.

No breakfast, Poor internet connection, room shows lack of maintenance, strange noises (plumbing?), not gentle manners when received at the front desk. Never again!

There was a large, dead cockroach made into the bed. At about 2030 I asked the desk clerk to have someone come make the bed. He said no one was available. I asked for some sheets. He gave a sheet. I asked for another sheet and a pillow case (there were four pillows on the bed and 2 sheets, right?). I showed him the cockroach. "oh my gosh!", and "sorry", as he had his back to me leaving the room.
I took a photo of the phone on the bedside, but did not take a photo of the bathroom window propped catty-corner from the sill with a roll of toilet paper.
I paid $175.00 for this stay? I had told the clerk I was leaving a poor yelp review. I will not book there again, nor will I book with Expedia. Have deleted the app from my phone.

Room had a strange pungent smell and bathroom wasn't pretty.

This was a pleasant and unexpected gem. We didn't expect much since it was a motel and we needed to quickly reserve a place for a weekend in Santa Barbara. It was one of the more reasonably priced options, but it turned out to be much more than we expected. The service was excellent. We arrived late after a long drive, and my daughter needed to use the bathroom. Since there wasn't one in the lobby, the service lady quickly gave her a key card to go to our room while I took care of check-in.
The rooms were clean, with super comfy beds and very white sheets. The bathroom was spacious, and the shower had warm water immediately. The furniture and walls/doors are a bit run-down, but as long as the beds/bathroom is clean, I can deal with it.
The location is perfect—close to everything. There's a Target and a mall nearby, as well as several convenience stores (7-Eleven) and fast food restaurants (McDonald's, Wingstop, Chipotle, Starbucks, etc.), and grocery stores (Whole Foods, Trader Joe's).
If you stay on the first floor, you might hear people talking as they walk by, and the door has gaps, so it can get pretty cold at night. Despite these minor issues, we would definitely stay here again, as it was reasonably priced. I noticed in the reviews that some people paid much more than we did, so if the price were higher, I might consider other options. For what we paid, it was a good stay.

Could us some maintenance and updating but was affordable and well located. The staff was very nice and strived to please. thank you

This Motel is disgusting. The rooms are falling apart. The walls were filthy. The screens in the windows were ripped. The fridge had a rotten smell. Nasty. If they don’t want to upgrade then they should be charging no more than $50 a night.

It's a motel, so my expectations weren't high, but the room, bed, and bathroom were all clean and well cared for. The shower was one of the better ones I've used in a while: a welcome surprise after a long day. It had good blackout shades too. And it was right next to a 7/11, which was handy. A minor negative is that the freezer in the fridge wasn't working, but that probably won't bother most people.

Verry clean room like the stay there
