The property is a nice example of Art Deco period in need of a lot of TLC as a new ownership and the new management concedes.
Major renovations are scheduled for this Fall as we were told. Once completed, we would not hesitate to re-visit.

Easy check in & nice room. Lovely area - perfect for our weekend stay.

This area is absolutely gorgeous and though our room was small, the bathroom did not lock and the connecting door to the next room was missing the lock and handle entirely- was so magical. There is no AC, but with the rushing river of glacial water flowing just outside the window, it is unnecessary. The staff were so amazingly friendly and helpful, though they did not all speak English- which worked for me because I wanted to speak French- and they were so helpful with me! My French isn’t great but I didn’t feel judged, they just let me practice with them and were awesome about it!
The location is about 20m from the Aiguille du MIDI area, but is in a nice quiet area- I liked the area a lot. We did not eat or do much in the area, but it was a very sleepy, quaint, peaceful area.
We did have a rental car, and they did have free parking so that was very convenient.

Room was quite cramped and dated. Was also very hot with no fans. Check in staff were friendly and helpful.

In winter, Terminus is not your usual hotel with a bar and restaurant. The roooms are mostly contracted out to a ski company called snowcoach, and the hotel is organised around them. This makes it great for skiers, as they have all facilities on-site and a shuttle bus to the slopes. Because it is a holiday hotel, the restaurant serves a set meal, the quality of which depends on who's doing the cooking for the season. I've been here 4 times in winter, and it is indeed variable, but always edible.
The rooms are basic, fairly small but clean. For those who do not ski, it is a very social sport and you might feel a bit left out, but everyone is there to have a good time in the fresh air.
The staff are "seasonaires" who like to party.
All in all, great for skiers and for those who might like simply to explore the area.
Note that this review applies only to WINTER. A summer experience may well be very different.

It was a lovely place to stay. Very convenient to the train station. Lovely lobby. Only disappointed that restaurant was not open, but we were there off season. Also very close to Saint Gervais public garden with nice walking path.

The hotel is a two-minute walk from Saint Gervais les Bains-Le Fayet train station. However, connectivity to Saint Gervais city center is not so good, with an infrequent shuttle bus, or a 45-minute hike with a ~300m difference in elevation and which isn't well-lit after dark. There is an hourly bus (during the summer) to Chamonix (the train tracks were under reconstruction), which is a likely point of interest.
The hotel left a drying rack, which was convenient after days of hiking. The views are great, with mountains in practically all directions, and the Bonnant river is within earshot. The scenic Mont Blanc railway (which I didn't ride) starts from next to Le Fayet station.

Good for overnight stopover en route to ski station. Neighborhood lacked choice of restaurants.

Adeline was super welcoming, explaining services (mini-bus to ski station, ski shop, meals etc.) and info about the area inc tips on nearby restaurants as we'd arrived too late to join in on the evening meal. As it was my first time skiing she explained what she'd done when friends had come to visit her and we decided to go with her suggestions for the next day. We didn't have any ski equipment i.e. not even salopettes. Lauren, another staff member, lent us hers! Amazing, so kind. Room was clean, warm, dry, quiet with a great view. (Plenty of TV channels inc BBC fyi). Got up the next day to coffee and pain au chocolat in big bright breakfast room / restaurant prior to ski shop to be fitted up by Matt. Lovely guy who instantly understands what skiing level you are. Holding their mini-bus until we were ready Mitch drove through the snow covered beautiful villages to the door of the ski station/lift: St Gervais - Le Bettex - Mt D'Arbois, explaining which buses would come back and when. Everything on the slopes was just as I imagined; from the ski school to the restaurant to the amazing views to skiing down the long green run like I'd skied before! Wonderful. That evening after a rest in room we then had the 4 course evening meal with the other guests. Great food, wine that keeps flowing, a staff member even sits at each table, chef comes out to see how everyone is all for 30 euros! One of the best experiences I've ever had. 5* service for 2* price. Will go back. Superb staff.

Booked two nights, but arrived late back from Italy. However, the staff made every effort to make sure that when we arrived in the middle of the night, that we could get access to our room.
When we got there tired and exhausted, the room was as hot as a sauna and smelt of old feet. We asked to be moved, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. The staff were nothing short of fantastic.
The hotel breakfast was a delight for the 8 euros. However, the decor is starting to show its age. Not too sure about the pink doors on rooms. However, the beds are comfortable, and there are great views from all sides of the hotel.
Don't expect a four/five star hotel. It is not. But if you have an intrepid spirit and like staying in hotels that have an adventurous and unpretentious clientele - and truly appreciate down to earth and helpful staff - Then this is the hotel for you.
It has a nice homely warmth to it, and feels like you are staying with friends or relatives rather than at a hotel. In my work and leisure I have stayed in some fantastic hotels and some hotels that should be condemned. So would I stay at this hotel again? Most definitely.
And in case you are wondering - the new room smelt great and was a lot cooler.

As the hotel do not have air-conditioner, we have to open the window. However, we are afraid that someone could come in to our room from the window. We have then to close one window. whereas for the other window, we can use the bicycle lock to allow us to keep the window halfly opened so that we can keep the room cool.
No fridge in the room
other than that, I recall quick comfortable.
