Well placed hotel for a stay in Bournemouth
2.0
Very good stay at The Connaught Lodge.
The check-in was very quick and easy. The room was spacious, with high ceilings and a comfy bed.
The bathroom was a bit small but functional. There were a few things to improve such as the shower head not working properly.
The hotel provided shower gel/shampoo, handwash and body cream.
We really enjoyed the big heated swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room. The sauna was not in use which is a shame as it's my favourite thing.
The spa is located on the lower ground floor and you need to cross reception to get there. They provide towels. If you plan to wrap yourself in a towel and walk from your room to the spa, just be aware that functions might be happening in the function room above the spa.
The breakfast was very good, a lot of choice for sure.
The hotel is close to the beach and city centre, great location .

On arrival we parked the car and got given the permit, our room wasn’t ready so we went to town. When we came back we got given our room number, which was in the lodge. We realised there was a wedding that day in the same building and we was directly above it. Reception hadn’t told us this. We asked to move which was told there was only one room on the 3rd floor but a twin, in the same building so we decided to stay in our room. We Was then told it was £10 to park the car.
The room was grim, dirty, old, shower head full of limescale, sink filthy. The music was so loud we decided to move.
Twin room, was t much better music was still loud, pictures broken, old, tired. Only thing different bathroom was cleaner.
The hotel said they had told me about the wedding when booking but this wasn’t the case. I got a email in the evening informing me of the parking and functions. Quite clearly there is some sort of miscommunication with the hotel and this platform. The hotel part looked nice and potentially has much nicer rooms but I can’t comment as we we didn’t stay in this section. We go away once a year and chose this hotel on its pictures and reviews.
There is a pool, sauna etc but the sauna was broken, not that we was told this at reception.
The only positive the hotel gave us one drink voucher as I mentioned it was our 10 year anniversary. Safe to say it’s not a memorable stay and I feel really upset with the whole experience.

Room was dated but comfy and clean.
Breakfast was terrible and other guests were looking at it and walking out

We stayed at this hotel for our daughters graduation. All the rooms were clean and tidy with plent of space. We will definitely look to book aga8n when staying in Bournemouth.

A single night stay. All good except paper thin walls ( in the "lodge") and the neighbours from hell who were detrrmined to gain the world record for being inconsiderate.

Hotel was very nice but building works were going on during our stay which meant no lift access to swimming pool etc.
Also parking is hit and miss, i believe hotel should highlight this more when booking, if you want to be parked in hotel then you need to be back there by 4pm, even if disabled, there are 2x spaces but anyone parks in them even non badge holders and this isn't checked by hotel staff
Breakfast is very nice

Lovely hotel. Bed a little too firm for me but fine for my husband. Shower over bath had hair in plug hole which need a good clean out as when I removed some of it it was black and smelt unpleasant. Apart from that the hotel was lovely. Breakfast very good indeed. All nice and hot. The pool was a decent size and not too cold. My only other criticism was that they automatically added 10% to every penny you spent with them. There are no drinks prices up so you don’t realise you are getting this 10% added on unless you just happen to notice a very very small one liner . Be warned if you don’t want to pay a service charge at the bar for your alcoholic drinks or tea’s and coffee’s tell the server when you order as it’s not obvious that they add on this extra charge. Apart from that it’s a nice hotel in a very good location close to the beach.

Lovely hotel good breakfast

Stayed in a standard room in The Lodge. Really good size room, comfy bed and large bathroom.
Really short walk to main hotel and facilities.
Great inclusive breakfast, with friendly and attentive staff.
We really enjoyed our stayed so extended by another night.

Only one person on reception at a busy time of check in. Did not get told about where anything was restaurant, gym ect.. The lodge is a bit odd and tired my bathroom had another door into the corridor, bit unnerving. Room facility’s a bit out dated. However the bed was very comfortable and breakfast was ok.

Thus was our 6th time here and we were not disapoinyed. Wonderful.

Good hotel overall, good value for money. Staff was helpful and quick to address any request (there was a whatsapp chat for any query). The spa facilities were the highlight of my stay! The room was confortable, however the room and some of the premises had a bit of a dated feel. Noisy at night with music due to wedding reception and garden area was not clean in the morning. Breakfast was a buffet, it was basic and used low quality ingredients, I didn’t enjoy it much but I guess you get what you pay for.

For our short two night stay this hotel was perfect. It is well located, has ample parking and the staff are friendly and efficient. We would certainly stay again on our next visit.

The hotel is in a great location with good facilities and lovely friendly/helpful staff. We stayed in the lodge which was clean and comfortable but could do with a bit of modernisation.

Good location and value for money

The shower screen door was hanging off very dangerous, iron print on the carpet floor.
1.5
The hotel was nice but not luxurious. Not very central location but some nice restaurants within walking distance I had to clean my own table each morning before breakfast. Staff was extremely busy and tired. Hotel is fine fir buget travellers.

Great little find.

The hotel was relly nice but did not feel we had stayed there as were put in the annexe where the room was large but needed attention to furniture and the shower?
2.0
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Shower did not work too well and could do with a refurb. Air con unit was quite noisy but nice to have
3.0
Very dated and conjusted room. Shower had weak flow and leaky AC.
4.0
The staff were very friendly, especially the staff at breakfast who were very efficient. The room was clean, but basic. I feel the hotel and lodge are in need of a decorative update and refresh, especially the carpets, walls and pool area. I was expecting a more luxurious stay. There is a problem with seagulls taking any food on the tables outside, while people are eating.
4.0
Poor that we arrived at 1.30 pm and still unable to check in until 3 on the dot - when then there was a big queue - seems a policy decision rather than a room free decision. 1 tea bag in room - no coffee just decaf (which i dont use) - else very good . Parking change of £8 where i have never had to pay before - breakfast was excellent as was room, Staff courteous as usual

The hotel is close to the ocean and a few minutes away from downtown Bournemouth. The people at the front desk are very helpful.
3.0
I liked the location and the breakfast/dinner/bar rooms.
I thought the bedroom we stayed in the decor was tired. The bath panel was broken and poorly fixed and the bathroom could have done with a coat of paint and freshening up. The water pressure in the shower was rather weak. Plenty of storage space. Efficient air con.
1.5
Negatives-stayed in the lodge in desperate need of redecoration dark and dingy corridors. Rooms downstairs used for storage, doors left open unsightly. Carpets worn. All needing updating very tired.
Positives- great size room and en-suite, great location, great breakfast and spa area.
Communal areas in main hotel looked comfortable. Staff at reception and spa welcoming.
5.0
Lovely hotel we stayed in to visit Bournemouth beach, beautiful weather and a very close walk down to the beach. Hotel breakfast was stunning and good variety and looked very fresh. Facilities were really good and quite unexpected when looking outside the hotel. On downfall would be the parking you have to pay £10 which I thought should’ve been stated beforehand.
1.5
Disappointingly small room with poor air circulation. Bathroom very small. Loud music on first night from event. Away from main hotel.
2.0
Very comfortable and clean rooms. Hand soap was missing from the bathroom luckily there was a shower gel we used from the shower. Common areas smelt a bit musky but the room was fine. The front door was temperamental, even after getting key card reprogrammed and keeping it away from any magnetic items (mobile phone) getting access to the front doors was frustrating to say the least. Parking is limited but that’s to be expected in Bournemouth. Breakfast was excellent and well laid out.
2.0
Stayed in the lodge. Spacious room, though our TV wasnt working. Breakfast was nice. Used the spa facilities which was good too, as well as the treatment we had. Pleasant stay, not too far from beach and town
1.5
Lovely staff and fantastic hotel when there is not a wedding. We expected some noise from the wedding but not to be on the second floor, with earplugs, and still hear what song was playing. We also didn’t expect to have parts of the main hotel unavailable for our use. We couldn’t use the lounge when it was raining or the courtyard garden when it was sunny. Wedding guests also impacted upon the breakfast service the following morning. Be aware that weddings are also held on week days.

We loved everything about our stay but especially that the staff were very friendly, helpful and of good demeanor. This made us feel very welcome and valued. The only thing, if I was being absolutely picky is that the pool floor seemed to be quite gritty at the shallow end. Overall, I would totally recommend this hotel because of it's close proximity to the beach (5 mins walk) and wonderful facilities.
2.0
Staff was very helpful but everything else was really average…walls are very thin so you can hear the noise from the next room.

Was ok. Part of Best Weston. Additional parking fees which aren't disclosed on hotels.com! Evening food well over priced suggest you go venture out for food.
Spa is additionally charged fees found in your room.
Clean, good breakfast.
Good location.
Didn't service the room with milk but went into to clean which is odd.
3.0
It seems "Lodge" is code for the rubbish part of the hotel - It's old, has creaky floors and the lift barely fits two people (one at a time if you have luggage). If it's a busy time then the hallway may be quite loud - Someone insisted on having a midnight phone call out there and we could hear every footstep and word.
The room was clean and mostly up to a good standard, apart from a leaky tap and a couple of stains on the carpet. The aircon was good but sometimes a bit loud. The cleaners must be told to ration some things because they just wouldn't fill the shampoo/shower gel in the bathtub and some other room items - Just remove the bottle, etc, if you don't have any.
Bournemouth seems to have deteriorated since we last visited, so there isn't much close by, but we were saved by the excellent Goat and Tricycle pub - We ended up eating every dinner there! But you are close to the number 50 and 70 open-top "Breezer" buses, so you can easily get to places like Swanage and the highly recommended Mudeford Sandbank.
3.0
The staff were excellent and efficient, the part of the of the hotel I stayed in the bathroom needs to be updated as a shower is very low on power and you feel dirty afterwards the toilet system does not flush with a full capacity. There is silicon along the wall not been finished off correctly. Also the bar panel has a crack in it, these are easy fixes my stay was nice and would recommend it
