Hosts are great and love the quirky low key vibe. Great location to rest your head at night w/out breaking the bank! Also great coffee and breakfast in their garden! Thank you Cynthia & Hernando for another great visit.

A quirky hideout at the edge of the art district . Fantastic hosts who looked after us and are happy to give you tips about the area.
Room was clean , but a little noisy from the road noise . It didn’t bother us.
Great breakfast which is served in the garden.
San Jose is a fantastic town with lots of great restaurants.

The location can't be beat. The coffee they sell to you is excellent. While advertised as having a pool, it did not. My room had a hidden, dangerous ledge in the bathroom shower. There was neither towel rack nor toilet paper holder. The toilet seat was loose. The mattress had a downhill slant such that one could slide to the floor. The traffic noise was so extreme it was difficult to sleep. But these are the good things about the place. The bad: They do not necessarily clean the rooms even if asked, purified water is not always provided, they do not empty the receptacle for used toilet paper daily or regularly, they do not provide enough toilet paper, the cotton rug on the floor seems not to have been washed…ever.

There was a water leak in the bathroom, the floor was wet.

Quaint, old hotel. Noisy at times due to location but room was very clean and one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept on. Soft comfortable bedding and we stayed for a yummy breakfast.

It was a great place to lay our head after a late night of traveling.

This was a charming hotel. The proprietors were very friendly and welcoming. Problem is, the website was misleading – they don’t rent bikes, they’re not close to the beach, and the room that we were in was not the room that we picked off the website. Our bathroom door was broken, the room lock sticks, and it was very noisy from traffic and whining dogs. We only stayed one night and went to another hotel. Some people seemed happy, so maybe we just got a clunker of a room.

Super friendly and hospitable staff made us feel very welcome. Accommodated storing bike boxes for us and arranged an airport shuttle with ease. Good vibes in a central location.

This place has always felt like home to me, since the first time I stayed here thirteen years ago. The people are generous, giving, like family. Even the other guests. I watched my Dad dancing, in his own goofy way, with his big old goofy smile, to some guy playing harmonica. And my Dad came from a long line of Mennonites, so not particularly well known for their dancing skills. But he was so happy. I was glad to be able to offer that to him. I would never hesitate to recommend this place to anyone who asks. Comfortable, clean, welcoming, nicely situated just off the plaza, lots of art, just like coming home.

I was injured on the way here. I showed up here unable to walk. The staff met us at the gate and helped me get to the room and on the bed. I've never seen this level of customer service. It was obvious that he cared very much. He should get a raise!

Our hosts were wonderful. The property is close to the main square. We love this type of accommodation, we are seniors. It is a small hotel with a hostel feel. Lots of garden area and elevated walkways, lots of vegetation make this a wonderfully different place to stay. The other guests are interesting people, not regular tourists. We would definitely stay here again, The owners are trying, without success so far, to correct errors in Expedia's description - this is not close to the beach as claimed by Expedia.

My wife and I had a pleasant stay here, we loved how it was so close to the heart of the city. The hosts are very friendly and helpful during our stay, we've enjoyed the lounging areas too and the exotic trees that're growing around the property
Thanks,

It was fine for what we needed, an overnight stay after a long travel day. Great location, a bit noisy from street traffic. Hosts could not have been nicer. Rooms were very clean, overall property more like a hostel, still very safe. Wifi worked great. Pool is an above ground type but did not seem to be open. They appeared to have issues with their credit card processor - just be aware of this if you dont carry cash.

One of few such hotels left. Clean, plenty of hot water, downtown San José del Cabo, very affordable, nothing fancy but well cared for. Safe.

Great location!!! I blame Expedia for some confusion checking in but the owner was super helpful in getting it sorted!

Herman and Cynthia are extraordinary hosts. I felt taken care of. They both have a wealth of information about the area to share with their guests. I felt welcome and cared for as a single woman traveling. The rooms clean and comfortable. Great value. I would recommend this precious hotel.

Cynthia and Hernan are lovely. The posada is welcoming and down to earth. It was fun to watch the Mexico/Argentina world cup game with them and their family.

Comfortable, unpretentious, home, quaint. Great hosts and wonderful coffee to start the day, and a nice light, fresh tasty breakfast.
It's not a fancy "resort" but a comfortable, simple place to stay and so convenient to the city

The owners, price, and outdoor spaces are all wonderful. The location is steps away from Plaza Mijares which is great, but it also borders a very busy street. You will hear buses and trucks early morning until late evening. The adjacent building is under construction and is also noisy during daylight hours. Lastly, the room we were in needed some repair/updating. The bathroom sink wasn't securely fastened to the wall. Still a good value as far as we are concerned. Many nearby restaurants, shops, and pharmacies. OMG, the pharmacies... lol

Super friendly owners. They arranged a chiropractor visit for my husband. Just the nicest people. We had a hard time finding the hotel, entrance is in the alley. Very basic rooms. Comfortable bed.
