Room was large and comfortable. Only drawback was the number of flights of stairs necessary to get to it. Hotel was very convenient to get to the Mall and it was on a road that transport could drive up to the front door which is often not the case with other hotels in Darjeeling.

The staff at the hotel were delightful but the hotel was a lot more tired than it appeared in the photographs and the bar/ lobby area were cold (Darjeeling is chilly in November). The mattress was saggy and all the furnishings have seen better days. It was clean and the shower had hot water. We stayed in the annexe, not much of a view, but on a clear day there is a good view from the dining/function room. Good central location. WiFi was hot and miss and even when a hit it was very slow

Very authentic old lodge in Darjeeling. It is not full of mod cons but our room had spectacular views.

The hotel has near zero WiFi, the rooms are very bad. The shown in picture was different from what offered. As it was in an adjacent connected old building, far left down the second basement.
The hot water is, actually cold water. I will never recommend it to anybody in my life.

The staff are hard work. Checked in just after midnight and the night clerk was just weird. All we needed was to check in but it just seemed to take forever.Booked a car with the hotel to take us to Bagdogra airport the day before we left. The gentleman behind the front desk said hed booked it and we paid. He put the cash in his inside pocket and the next day the car wasnt booked! Had to be re booked last minute. They dried sheets and towels on the roof, we could see this from a near by cafe, called Glenarys which I would highly recommend by the way. 3 story building all the same company. Bar, cafe and restaurant, ate in all 3 and good safe food.Back to the hotel, lock on my door didnt work one day, staff went into the room next door and then came out of my room, there was a secret connection to the rooms that they wouldnt show me. To be clear it was not a connecting room so no idea how they got in but left me sleeping with one eye open.

Booked a car with the hotel to take us to Bagdogra airport the day before we left. The gentleman behind the front desk said he'd booked it and we paid. He put the cash in his inside pocket and the next day the car wasn't booked! Had to be re booked last minute.

Carpet smells of 100 year dirt. Room stinks of cigarette smoke. Toilets were dirty. Staff showed the club room category as well, which was not better. On top this, when I wanted to vacate and go to a nearby hotel the Manger charged Rs. 400 for just 2kms.

The hotel is no more associated with Fortune Group though it boosts the emblem of Fortune at its door, on the cutlery. I had booked standard room and was given the room in the building opposite to main hotel which didn't had any ventilation, window (the window which was there was having a wall in front of it in proximity of one feet) and was having a nagging sound of boiler when we checked in. I was told that I had booked a standard room, so the congusted room with sound of boiler (which was really irritating) would need to be borne by us from 6 am to 9 am and from 6 pm to 9 pm. After lot of protest and persuasion for almost an hour, and complaining about the sound of the boiler, no ventilation I was given another room (which was a higher class room). I had booked the room for 4 nights and really repent now for spending Rs. 6K plus on this hopeless hotel which didn't even has a sensitivity to accept that each room must have a ventilation and shouldn't be having a constant nagging sound of boiler for 6 hours a day.
Another classic example of apathy of the staff was that every day at the breakfast the table linen on the table was dirty and inspite of requesting the staff for changing the same (as it was bearing marks of last night's dinner lol), the staff was ridiculously reluctant to even acknowledge it and change it.
Inspite of the hotel being no more associated with Fortune group I don't understand how one can have Fortune Group emblem used.

Had an awful experience. First of all, Expedia messed up by not cancelling our reservation and booking us into a place last minute. Then we got there to a tiny room with awful hygiene. We asked to move to their other location which was riddled with bugs and to our surprise, mice. Only good thing was after asking repeatedly if we could have a room on a higher floor, they moved us for one night. I will NEVER stay there again , and what an awful experience with Expedia

We stayed for one night at the Central Heritage in Darjeeling, our last night before returning to Germany. For the price, we expected better. The room was very dirty, especially the bathroom. Breakfast was very stale and not tasty. Staff was very inefficient. This would all be OK if it was a budget priced hotel but at the price we paid we definetely were dissapointed. If you are budgeting for a 3-4 star hotel stay somewhere else.

Uncomfortable damp room. Very cold toilet. Except for the electric blanket nothing was good about this hotel. Definitely avoidable

February trip, lovely room suite with anteroom space for luggage and a dresser. Bathroom had a bad smell of stale bathroom air which needed airing out, and the worst part was being so cold! Our room was large and spacious but had only a small 3 bar plug-in heater, and there were no others available. We were lent 2 electric hot water bottles though, and the shower was very hot and powerful when the hot water was turned on (btw 6-9am and 6-9pm though you can ask for it at other times - they're politely clear about the timing). Staff were very helpful with booking taxis to the airport and quick with room service/housekeeping etc so would recommend it for warmer weather. Or be tougher than we were!
