Paul picks you up at the airport, takes you back to the airport. He also makes your reservations for dinner and drives you to dinner! The restaurant drives you back to your hotel!

Very tired around the area and gardens certainly needed tidying up.

Lovely quiet place with a garden. Has everything one needs for a comfortable stay

The property was nestled in the bush with lots of birdsong in the mornings, plenty of lovely sunshine to enjoy out on the verandah - so peaceful! - and incredible staff. Paul made the trip so easy!

Our stay at Beachcomber Lodge was simply fantastic! Highly recommended for a quiet and comfortable stay on Lord Howe Island. Gary and Paul were incredibly helpful and made sure our stay was easy, relaxing and our best holiday yet at Lord Howe Island.

Great location. Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean, well maintained and a perfect location to explore the island. Loved our stay. 🙂

Pick up from the airport right on time, also taking us back. Good explanation about where everything is on the island. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Thank you!

Fairly basic accommodations but well suited to the vibe of the island

The lodge is located, like many in Lord Howe Island, up a hill which requires hiring a bicycle or a 10 to 15 minute walk to get to the restaurants to eat or beaches to swim. There are no views from the rooms or the lodge, but they do have a very nice garden. The room was typical average Lord Howe basic / minimal - not unattractive, but very basic. It was generally clean. Like almost all accommodation on Lord Howe, there is no airconditioning, and given the constant high humidity on the island, staying in the room during the day is mostly unbearable.
On the downside, the bathroom smelled of sewerage (septic tanks?), the basin constantly clogged up with water (did not drain), there was no facecloth provided, the TV signal was hopelessly fuzzy (though Youtube worked fine), and sound came in from the adjacent rooms, moreso than any other hotel I have ever stayed in.
The accommodation would be very expensive compared to other accommodation of this standard in Australia ... but perhaps not so for Lord Howe, where everything is about 50% more than the mainland.

Beachcomber was perfect for my stay… a great little kitchenette to prepare easy meals if you want a quick brekkie before a hike… close to Ned’s… clean… Paul was always around to help with anything… would definitely stay again!

Beachcomber was the perfect holiday stay for Lord Howe . Set in tranquil tropical gardens where it was quiet and peaceful the hotel was within easy walking distance to Ned’s beach and town cafes Paul the manager went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed With clean rooms very comfortable beds a lovely verandah and all amenities for cooking we were very happy with our stay at Beachcombers No need to spend $10,000 a night haha

The property was not good value for money. For the amount I paid for the room, I would have expected much better service. The rooms were not cleaned during my stay and guests are discouraged from asking for assistance from the single staff member. On the plus side, the rooms are large and cool and the garden is lovely.

The staff Paul was very helpful and kind. However, the facilities were not adequate and outdated. In the pandemic, the lodge's policy expressed the daily clean services would not be provided. Hence, the room became not fresh, not polished and not tidy. The policy threaten we needed to clean the bins, made room clean, otherwise additional cost would be charged. I believe I paid premium fees to stay in the lodge. Why should I perform a maid's service to stay there?

Good clean rooms close to neds beach and not too far from town. Polite and courteous service and local knowledge

This is a nice lodge near Ned’s beach. Gary the owner very kindly showed us around on the way from the airport, and allowed early access and a late check out which we hugely appreciated. If you wish to dine at another restaurant Gary provides complementary shuttle and the restaurant drops you home. Lord Howe Island is truly magical, highly recommend.

Lord Howe Island is a fantastic place to get away from it all. We stayed at Beachcomber and found the proprietors really nice and helpful. We were picked up from the airport and then shown around a important parts of the island so we knew where things were. We also were taken to Neds beach to see where you can feed the fish. Beachcomber is a little walk away from restaurants (that were open in winter) so on the rainy days it was an adventure with the umbrella but no complaints here. The only suggestion I could make for improvements would be to be mindful of moving wheelee bins at 7:00am on a Saturday morning right past the bedroom window when guests are trying to have a sleep in. Otherwise it was a great stay and I recommend anyone take time to talk to the locals and learn about the island. Its fascinating.

Comfortable and spacious apartments set in a beautiful garden. Very friendly owners, and the homemade cookies were delicious! Loved the original, old house, just beautiful - more than half of the apartments are located in there. Very clean apartment, and comfy bed. Would definitely return.Thank you.

The short stay was fantastic, we would have liked at least another 2 days on Lord Howe Island. It is a fantastic place for peace and quiet but also great for Water lovers. Lots of snorkeling etc. Accommodation was excellent.

Good sized cottage with 2 bedrooms, refrigerator and cooking facilities. A lengthy walk to the shops. The housekeeper threw out a plastic bag containing my spare toiletries. 2nd time this has happened in my travels, I'll have to hide them in future. Good value considering the size. I liked the jar of cookies that was replaced all but the last night.

Gary, the proprietor was very helpful and the lodge was great with a small useful kitchenette in rooms we booked.

This hotel is a nice peaceful stop on the island. Basic facilities allow you to be self-sufficient (make your own breakfast or have a bbq for dinner).

I found the lodge to be charming, spacious and comfortable. A great place to stay on the island - considering the alternatives it was excellent value for money. Loved having coffee and homemade biscuits on the patio accompanied by a wide variety of birds and lush greenery. Lovely hosts as well. Would love to go back one day.

Good accommodation in great location. Room layout a bit strange but lovely host. Free wifi advertised with room but not offered on arrival. We payed $200 for a gig of Internet. Advertising needs to change, its false and misleading. There is closer accomodation to the main part of town unless you prefer to do plenty of walking. Paper thin walls also, could hear neighbors whenever they walked around. Pleasant stay but not the best.

Excellent stay in a pleasant unit on Lord Howe. Cute little 1 bedroom place. Gary was a pleasure to chat with whenever we saw him.
