Unfortunately, my room at the Mosaic had bedbugs and I awoke with approximately 50 bites. I asked the employee what their policy was to deal with this infestation so that they could get rid of them.
She consulted someone by phone and declared they have no policy, but they could refund any future nights if I left. The most they could do was change the sheets but only the following day. I had been hoping they would consider it a big enough problem that they would fumigate to ensure that no future guests would be bitten.
I was deeply concerned about bringing bedbugs to my next hotel so I decided to stay the next night (mistake!) and they allowed me to wash and dry my clothes for ONLY €15, how kind.
Of course, the second night, I doubled the number of swollen, itchy bites, and knew I could not stay. I did not ask for a refund of my third night so of course I had paid for three nights in exchange for about 100 bedbug bites.
One problem with bedbugs is that only a certain percentage of humans manifest a reaction to their bites, so probably plenty of people are carrying them from place to place and not realizing it. If I am the one who tells you your hotel has bedbugs, believe me! Eventually some other guest will get them too, so PLEASE have a policy for eradicating them before they spread.

The Mosaic Hotel is conveniently located close to main attractions. The price is very good for this location. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were very clean. There is no airconditioning in the hotel, but you can open the window and you will be alright.
Please, check the pictures and reviews of other costumers before booking. There is a short walk throug the courtyard to get to the hotel, which some people might not like. It was perfectly safe.

Was hard to get any sleep as room 13 was very noise and on my last night room 11 was extremely noise and was moving furniture and there was throwing and banging noise. Sadly there isnt like any other cheap hotels a cattle, te or coffee or even a cup in the room. Tv in comon room wasn’t showing much.pillows was very soft. I needed put 2 together to get any sleep. Otherwise room was good, clean and furnishings even cheap were looking nice. Staff was great.

No fridge inside room, but given cheaper pricing it is not surprising.
Otherwise stay was good/room was adequate along with private bathroom I had paid for.

Very convenient location. What I didn't like were the shared bathrooms but it was Hockey championships so everywhere else was fully booked. The breakfast does not cater for gluten-intolerant, vegan or vegetarians enough. There is cereal, cheese and boiled eggs. Breakfast vastly needs improving with alternative options and alternative milks.

I had a real bargain and I did not read the description very carefully. I had a shared toilet/bathroom but it was not a problem - in the hours (early) that I used it I did not have to queue. The common room allows for storing your groceries but no facilities to cook. The complimentary breakfast is not luxurious but it gets you nourished before you go to town. The location is the best of this hotel. The old town is within walkable distance and the public transportation is close and the network is extensive. It only is quite difficult to find out the lines and where they go except by trial and error and Google map.If you come by car remember to book parking in advance.

Stay here already 3rd time. I like it... nice people that work there and stay there. Clean, simple, and easy to get to. The location is a bit far away from the center and old town but same time only 15 min walk.

You might go through a shady alleyway to get here, but like in a Harry Potter-book, you end up in a place much more different. Through a white door you come to a very clean hotel I'd recommend to everyone.

Staff was friendly, but they agreed to a daily wake-up at 7am which I never once received. They allowed me an early daily breakfast at 7:30am, but the breakfast was rather blah and didn't even include real juice (at least there was breakfast though). Perhaps they should not be blamed for arranging a taxi from a dodgy service which refused to provide a receipt. a

My second stay at the Mosaic and I would happily return in the future.

The Mosaic was easy to find from a nearby stop on the airport shuttle bus service. The staff spoke fluent English and were most helpful, making me aware of places to eat and visit in Riga that I hadnt spotted in my researches online. Design is bright, unconventional and fun, the layout has a feel a little more like a hostel than a hotel in some ways, but no complaints here. My room was spotlessly clean, quiet and Id opted for a private shower & wc, which were fine. The hostel comparison is echoed by the minimal room facilities, i.e. no kettle etc, but the upstairs lounge is open throughout the day and night, so if you want tea/coffee you can get it there. Breakfast consist of cereals, pastries, juice and is self service.I realise some reviewers will carp at these things, but for the price offered and the location of the Mosaic, it is an absolute bargain. Sure, the ceiling lights in my room are of a harsh fluorescent nature, but rather than deduct stars for this, my view is simply switch them off and use the uplighter instead and, to anyone who would write adversely of the place for such a reason, why not enjoy the positive bargain that is the Mosaic instead? On the corner, almost next door, theres wonderful food to be had at the Flying Frog Cafe, along Elizabetes Iela, on the way to a marina & ferry terminal nearby, is a fine Azerbaijani place called Apseron and the locale is the art nouveau district, so all in all the Mosaic is a great place to stay and I will return!

Friendly staff and clean facilities. Unfortunately the double room only had one blanket and when we asked for one more, they didnt have anything to give us. It was very quiet and nice in terms of street-noise - there practically was none because it is situated snuggly inside a block of famous art nouveau houses. Unfortunately the construction of the hotel itself was such that you could hear almost everything happening in the other rooms. The walls seemed to be paper thin - even when others were moving their curtains or receiving a message on their phone, I could hear it perfectly, as if it was happening in my own room. So we didnt really feel like relaxing in the room or talking - essentially, there is not much privacy, so definitely NOT the place for a couples retreat. The breakfast was basic (granola, corn flakes, milk, cookies, juice and pre-packaged croissants), but there is a sink and a microwave oven on hand as well. The location was perfect - right at the heart of the most beautiful area of the city with plenty of cafes and restaurants for all budgets and a big park nearby, we well as several great museums.

The location of this hotel is a little bit far from the city centre, but its walkable distance. There are no TV, air conditioner, toilet, shower in a room, but a room is good just to sleep.

Nice hotel close to the Art Noveau buildlings. Walking distance to old town. Staff is very nice and helpful. :)

First, the good. As of this writing, everything was brand new. The carpets had the new carpet smell. The walls were newly painted. The beds were new as well as the sheets and towels. However, this is a hostel. It is not a hotel. The room consists of a single king size bed and a desk. Nothing else. No tv, radio, sink, nothing. The bathroom is shared with 4 other rooms. Plus, the bathroom and common room with a tv and kitchen are in the same area. So, dress up to take a shower or use the toilet or brush your teeth. It is close to old town, about a 10 minute walk. That is about it. Lastly, it is not visible from the road. You have to enter an alley and it is back 50 yards.
