We were looking for a few relaxed days by the beach which we failed to accomplish as the beach club is trying hard to present itself as a party spot. There was no way of escaping the party music anywhere.
Out four days was also too long; locals come there for one or -tops- two nights.
What we liked was the lovely prepared dinner venue and the corresponding atmosphere. (One night when the music was more tropical than electro we actually enjoyed it.)

The best place to disconnect and relax

only good points were the good was excellent and one concierge stood out, Fabio. From my arrival at the boat launch to my departure my entire experience was bad. Fenix boat crew leaving to the resort flat out told me i needed to tip him for the rwo carry on bags. every single server had his hand out for everything. paid for a specual girlfriend dinner with a cake, candles and evetything. none of that happened. service at the dinner was lousy, we had to keep getting up to find our server.
the entire resort was dirty and in need of maintenance. paint peeling everywhere. we had a special suite reserved, we did not get what was in the pictures. room smelled of mold and no hot water. paint peeling on walls along with mold in the room. beach was dirty with trash and the water was trashy with gasoline from the harbor. over all, lousy 3 day trip. for what they charge for everything one would think it would be nicer and like the pictures.

Excellent rustic hotel at the beach! The food is delicious!

The property location is nice because it felt like you’re on your own private island. However, the boat schedule from the hotel Island to Cartagena was inconsistent for example we were told a boat was leaving in the morning at 8am and then found out that it was going at 9am! I and others planned trips that were leaving from Cartagena at 8:45! In addition, one day the water went out for about 5min as I was taking a shower and when it came back on green stuff started coming out of the shower head onto my body! I had to let the water run for about 10min before it cleared up! Otherwise we had nice room and time.

Customer service is subpart at most. Our bungalow didn't have water service on multiple occasions without notice.
Getting a hot plate was a challenge, the restaurant staff is polite but very poor at execution. This is my second time staying. First stayed was not memorable but not as bad as this one. Would not recommend

We loved our villa! We got placed with a private concierge Fabio, and he was incredible. Would definitely go back.

Its a unique hotel with a lot of charm. They take way to long to bring your food. Cats are sleeping on top of the tables where you eat.
Very clean.

The staff was very friendly. Yeison our butker waz amazing he helped in every possible way, answered our calls everytime. I will definetly refer him to friends and families that visit Fenix.
Kevin was great to. He introduced me to Renacer, great refreshing drink.
There was a lady also, cant remember her name. She told us how they take care and rescue tje dogs on the property.
Great example of kindness and thank you for taking care of those angels.

Overall, the property was fantastic. There was a couple peacocks that were stunning but a little obnoxious every 10 minutes (But that’s not on them). Everybody was so nice the rooms and the whole island was so clean.

Favio was great, helped me calm down afterva rocky start.
Not happy with the start of our stay, but in the end. Everything was taken care of

Let’s start with, the hotel never answers their phone lines. They only want to communicate through WhatsApp and the conversation restarts of your not answering consistently. This wasn’t helpful because we couldn’t ask questions or get guidance on a pickup from the airport until we were on the plane.
We booked a presidential suite to make sure everything was decent such as AC, cleanliness, rodent free and it just wasn’t. It took forever to check into our room and once we checked in, we tried to get ready and shower and in the shower there were insects and goop coming out of the shower head. Once we overcame that, we got ready and went to explore the beach. Beach itself was dirty and smelly, lots of wild dogs everywhere. We went back to our room to find out the power was out, no light and no AC. While we waited we found a lizard in the room and a bunch more lizards right outside the door to the balcony. The door to the balcony does not fully shut, it has cracks in which these slimy little things were getting in. While we were there, we saw a raccoon go inside another room through the roof… that is not okay. There response to these things were that it’s an Island. Yes it’s an island but that doesn’t mean the island has to live in the booked room.
We had booked this room for two nights and proceeded to leave after the first night because of how inconsistent this place was.
I tried working with Expedia to get a refund on the night we didn’t stay and the hotel declined.

Nice beach destination close to Cartagena. Very good facilities to enjoy the beach and pool, and very good service provided by hotel managers. Suitable for families. Definetely recommended.

We stayed in the family villa with a pool and it was stunning. Really quiet, clean and beautifully designed. Worth the money and regretted we only stayed 2 nights.

The dogs were friendly, the hotel staff were very attentive, location was great. Accommodation is basic so limit expectations

If you vacation plans include being in a relaxing place, straying the day with a healthy and delicious breakfast (which is included with your stay), steps from the beach, where beds, towels, drinks are available all day, the Fenix Hotel is the place for you. They can pickup you up at the La Bodeguita port and in 15 minutes you will be in paradise. Soliciting from local vendors is limited, compared to a stay in Cartagena so you have time to enjoy the Sun and the cam waters of the Caribe Sea. The rooms are comfortable and cleaned daily, we stayed at the Melrose suites and love them.we recommend bringing some water bottles and some essentials (sunscreen, toiletries, essencial medications) because you can’t buy them in the island. But have peace of mind that the hotel has drinks (soda, water, wine, beer), snacks (chips and chocolate bars) available for purchase in your room. We loved the jetski ride, the DJ’s and entertainment in the evenings, and if you love animals, the hotel pets, 5 super well behaved dogs and 2 sweet cats.
The Fenix hotel is a great place to build memories and we would definitely come back!

This is really just a hostel, charging hotel prices.
The food was good, the beach is nice but small, with loud music playing 11 hours/day. The only transportation on the island is a motor cycle taxi, with not much to see as per the staff at the hotel. We left a day early, just couldn't take the constant noise any longer. I can't advise anyone to stay there.

“Pet friendly” flea covered dogs run wild barking at all hours of the night. If you can sleep through the barking the cockroaches and ants will keep you up. You will lose electric periodically. Sometimes the plumbing will work (there is no hot water or even plumbing for it). Americans should steer clear of this place they make it clear you’re not welcome. At least I found the needle before my kid stepped on it. Broken beer bottle glass all over the beach. Peddlers constantly bothering you to buy their garbage on the “beach”. This is not a real hotel.

Very relaxing stay

The Fenix Beach resort is a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown Cartagena. It feels secluded and provides instant relaxation. The rooms and bungalows are unique and elegantly rustic. My only recommendation would be to have complimentary bottled water in every room, since the tap water isn't potable.

I've been traveling South America for two weeks and wanted a quiet resort on the beach to relax a few days. This was the perfect place. It is very quiet and right on the beach with cabanas and bar service. The food at the restaurant was amazing. The weekend was more of a party vibe than during the week. I am already planning my trip back.

Hot water available in rooms for an additional fee. Overall decent place to stay if you dont mind cold showers, however, not quite up to western standards.

Beautiful hotel on a little island just outside cartagena. Nice and open space, lovely beach cabanas. Service was really poor at first, but when we told them they stepped up their game. Wi-Fi was on-and-off.

very elegant hotel, perfect location at city center you can walk everywhere. Limited breakfast but was good.

Outstanding service, stunning location, and remarkable people

First, they gave us the wrong room and were not honest or apologetic about it. They promised to give us the right room on the third day of the trip - when it was no longer occupied. They kept telling us different stories about why our room wasn’t like the room advertised. Then, we were without electricity from 10AM-6:30PM on the fourth day. It was quite scary of an experience because it was pitch black out and we weren’t getting any updates from the hotel staff. They promised the electricity would be back on by 5 but then they just kept saying, “it’ll just be 15 minutes”. It was 97 degrees that day and we had no fans or no ac all day. Also, there is very loud music that blasts all day and night that you hear in your room. It was very hard to get used to it and to fall asleep the first night.

The staff was 10 out of 10. Wes the butler was the best and made my bday soo special. The massage was the best and the cheapest one I had.

Great property near a Cartagena with amazing people working a lot of animation in the afternoon and purchase at night. The food is also very good. It’s very clean and we stay in the rooms Ibiza and they were very nice comfortable and clean.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The resort is on an island about a 15 minute boat ride from downtown Cartagena. The island itself is very quiet and the staff continuously offers great service if you need a drink or food or any necessities. There are several boat rides available to take guests to the mainland. My wife and I really enjoyed old historic Cartagena as it offers great restaurants and shopping at very reasonable prices. The restaurant we ate at were excellent.
