Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Location is also great. Much more eco-friendly than other hotels so all up a real winner!

Very central, enthusiastic and friendly team. Nice rooftop pool, spacious room. Breakfast gets a bit monotonous after a few days.

Convenient location. Helpful friendly staff. Breakfast ok. Enjoyed afternoon tea although it wasn't always clear what was sweet & what savoury. Decent rooftop pool.

Very good service. Great location to shopping, street food. Skyview building.
Staff were friendly and spa was cheap for massages. Pool view was fantastic.
Very polite and breakfast was good. Afternoon tea was calming and inviting. Jr room was spacious and out door shower brilliant.

Lovely hotel in central location, despite this it was still quiet at night. Rooftop pool was a real bonus to cool us down after hot days out visiting places. All the staff were wonderful and kind, giving recommendations of places to go and providing a travel agent service, they also were helpful with luggage storage.
The breakfast buffet was varied and catered for all tastes. We didn't eat dinner or take afternoon tea in the hotel as we were out and about most if the time. Overall highly recommended and we'd definitely suggest staying here to friends and family

Cute and charming boutique hotel. Service and staff was amazing and attentive. Afternoon tea was so cute and breakfast was quite good. Excellent location, we loved our stay … the one complaint would the ac. Either too cold when on or too warm when off.

Property I would describe as old style colonial architecture mixed with Raffles Singapore influences. The piped music at breakfast is elegant and afternoon tea is a welcome addition,Staff including security were awesome. The property has a lift but people who have problems with stairs may find the entrance difficult with several steps and steps to afternoon tea on the 10th floor tricky as there is no rails though security are very happy to help.Breakfast was very nice-though struggled to understand how could run out of orange juice on 2 mornings and only offered instant coffee or tea.Having to pay for a Vietnamese coffee was a big surprise when other hotels on our trip of a lower standard added this as a complimentary addition to their breakfasts whilst some hot items were often not hot but warm.Afternoon tea was nice-pastries were 'okay' but normally sandwiches of some sort are an afternoon tea and was none but again instant room coffee or tea offered and seldomly juices Shower in room only had a shower curtain if not a step in bath and water relied on sun so often only warm not be replaced whilst some hot items were often not hot but warm. The location 5-10 mins walk makes it ideal for cruising -many shops near.I was unhappy that a host of mine got charged for a cup of tea that I gave him cos I didnt like the flavour-neither the attendant or staff would agree to the customer is aways right.Staff generally outstanding. Is this hotel worth the price NO-would I stay again prob not

We thoroughly enjoyed our three day stay and highly recommend this perfectly centrally located hotel. We got to stay in a newly renovated suite that was wonderfully tastefully decorated in a classical French style with lovely dark wood and fresh white walls, a huge comfortable bed with very soft sheets. The bathroom was beautiful with a separate shower and a huge tub.
Breakfast offers a vast variety that includes lovely fruits, a chef who cooked all styles if egg, lots if different asian foods alongside a big continental breakfast. And the coffee is wonderful - which it should be considering that Vietnam produces coffee. :-).
We spent lots of time by (and in!) the beautiful roof top pool in between our outings in town. Sitting in the pool under the blossoming trea enjoying a fruit smoothie and the spectacular view is a memory that will make us want to come back soon.
The staff is extremely kind, thoughtful and professional. They helped us book guided tours as well as transportation. We also loved the ”lobby library” where we found guidebooks to inspire to adventures about town as well as novels to read by the pool.
Our friends are traveling to Ho chi min next year and we have already sent them a link to Au Lac Charner.

Choose another place!
I would really like to give this place a higher rating. The facilities, pool, gym and sauna are good. The surrounding area has a lot of good restaurants and it is close to many things. Breakfast is also good.
Prior to checking in I sent a request not to be placed in a room that has mold problems as I am allergic to it. When entering the first room the air was thick and the room smelled heavily to mold, I asked them to change me into another one. The next one did not have the open bath in the bedroom but it also smelled noticeably to mold. As they did not have other rooms I had to stay there and medicate myself. After a couple of days I managed to change the room again for the last two nights, by that time I already had completely blocked sinuses, cough and fever. The third room did ease off the symptoms but the week in Saigon was a complete waste for me.
And do not buy in to the wet season explanation, of course if the hotel is not prepared for it will get a problem with mold. Having lived in southeast asia myself for nearly four years, wet season is a challenge, but with good ventilation and drying I have never had problems with this before. Avoid the place if you have problems with mold!

Property was nice overall for the price, staff was great and the breakfast was nice but the rooms don’t have much sound deadening. The noise in the alley below was constant all night, I’m not sure if a higher room or a different side would have helped. Bring ear plugs, there was a band playing at 7am one morning…

A lovely reception area with friendly and helpful staff. The pool and bar area provides a lovely respite from the heat of the city and has great views. The room felt a bit tired especially the shower curtain, but was well air conditioned and pretty quiet. I got my nails done in the hotel salon and wouldn't recommend that, but maybe the other services are better. The hotel is extremely well located and the breakfast was good.

Stayed for 3 nights in a Bonard Junior Suite. Quick and friendly check in process. Hotel is in a great location - close to cafes and restaurants. Good size room. Nice choice for breakfast. Great views from the pool area on the top floor. Would definitely stay again when in HCMC.

Right in centre of district 1, great for some of the main tourist sites. Staff were excellent and room very pleasant. Breakfast ok (nothing special), rooftop bar very small and disappointing when compared to other hotel rooftop bars in the locality.

Charming hotel located in the heart of D1 area. Not a new hotel but facility is kept up nicely. Friendly staff , decent breakfast. Only issue was intermittent construction noise during day time. Upgraded room I stayed was good size and I liked the separate shower and bathtub.

This is a well designed and elegant small hotel in downtown HCMC. While it is in a noisy and congested area, it radiates a sense of calm and tranquility. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I had a problem with a cash machine eating my card and they made several phone calls for me to resolve it. They also helped print several documents and helped me to download and use the Grab app for travel within the city.
