Hotel Campanario De la Villa is an above-average boutique hotel just a two minute walk to the main plaza in Villa de Leyva. The property is generally well maintained and clean to experienced traveler standards. Our room (206) was nicely appointed, with a small balcony facing the very lightly trafficked street, a fireplace and lovely high ceilings throughout. The bathroom is large with natural lighting, and a large acrylic tub/shower combination. The king-size bed was pleasantly firm but compliant and all of the bed linens were in excellent shape. As the neighborhood is so quiet in the evenings - a good night's sleep is very easy to have. Why not 5-stars? Well, the property is not particularly luxurious. And the (included in our rate) breakfast was particularly disappointing in that there's little variety, and that nearly everything needed to be sent back as it was lukewarm. (I understand that early week is slow, but that's no excuse for indifferent food quality). The hotel staff were all friendly although we only spoke Spanish. As a popular tourist destination, we did observe that there always seemed to be someone with some English in the stores and restaurants, which is a pleasant surprise. My best recommendation for this property is that we liked it sufficiently enough to have already planned our return.

My recent stay at Hotel Campanario in Villa de Leyva was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived until our departure, every aspect of our experience exceeded expectations. The hotel's warm and inviting atmosphere immediately made us feel at home. The staff members were not only professional but also incredibly friendly, always ready to assist with a genuine smile. The hotel's location is strategic. Whether enjoying breakfast on the terrace or relaxing by the pool, the serene atmosphere provided a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. We look forward to returning to Hotel Campanario for another delightful stay in the future

Tha hotel is beautiful very well maintained and the staff is very professional and friendly our interactions with Tania and Alex was very good they help us with tours and places to visit

We got a family room since all the area hotels were heavily booked for the holiday weekend and were pleased it was even larger and more roomy than the photos showed. The king bed was super king could sleep 5 easily with a twin bed on the first floor but two very large twins on the second floor. So we we not unhappy not being able to book a second room for our 35 year old son-it was very comfortable for him and us.It worked out well. Great location and good restaurant in heavy restaurant area only 2 blocks from Plaza Mayor. Great staff and beautiful setting. Quiet side street except for Pentacostal Church singing across the street but that was not noticeable. Son loved the pool with bar service as comfortable and conveinent-only closed early at 8PM on nights of big fiesta on the plaza.

I liked this property because the bathroom has very good sunlight, the shower is very good. In general everything was clean. Also the customer service was very friendly.

Any time we needed something we received it right away.They open the doors for you to enter in with your vehicle to a private courtyard.The hotel interior design was unique and interesting. The beds are super comfortable and if you have a fireplace it was fun at night to have the hotel staff come and light it for you.The service in the hotel restaurant for breakfast which was included with our room price was delicious.Even though it was a limited menu; they served fresh squeeze OJ, fresh cut melons or pineapples, eggs cooked to order, bread, butter, jam and coffee. We did not get to use the pool but was clean and looked fun. A quiet location in Villa de Leyva.

We were in Villa for a wedding and absolutely loved the hotel. I was very surprised on how beautiful the hotel was. It was completely renovated, the room was large and modern and the bathroom was beautiful and super clean. The breakfast was delicious and the service was superb. The location was fantastic, walking distance to everything. The hotel had a great pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Bring comfortable shoes as the whole town is made of large stones and are very hard to walk on.

First, its swimming pool is open at 10 AM and then close at 7 PM. Are you kidding? Most of people coming to Villa de Leyva want to be relax. Such a tough Schedule makes tourists not enjoy the pool. Second, this hotel provides the worst breakfast I experienced. Just some pieces of bread, some tiny pieces of fruit, and gramble egg. That is all. It is absolutely a joke for hospitality industry.
