We stayed in the William Jefferds House.
Pros: It was lovely to stay in a historic building, which has been well maintained. There were chairs to sit outside and a large lounge and sunroom on the ground floor to relax in. Wifi was good. Breakfast buffet wasn't large but the food was fresh and tasty. Free coffee and cookies available in the kitchen. Parking is available, although it was a little tight on the first night because of a huge pickup truck sticking out of one space (it might have been better to ask them to park in the road). Room was clean and comfortable. Location is excellent - very easy walk into Kennebunkport and Kennebunk.
Cons: Nothing significant. Our room wasn't that big by American standards, even if there was plenty of space by European standards. It was up a few flights of stairs and there is no lift, but we were made aware of this in advance so it wasn't a problem.

Just to say this was our 26th visit to this property 25 of which was when it was Captain Lord Mansion, so we are qualified to make a good judgement. The heart and soul have been ripped out of this property since Lark Hotels took over. Our room (27) former Callander Room, had peeling wallpaper everywhere, the shower heads were full of scale and leaking so didn’t work properly and the cleanliness was not up to previous standards. The landing carpet had a huge bleach stain on it, the paint in general was chipped throughout and worn furnishings. For the price we paid £900 for 2 nights stay was quite frankly unacceptable. Won’t be staying here again, sadly.

The property was very tastefully decorated and we loved the period feel
Room was small and lack of space was the main thing we would have changed
Reception closing at 7pm seemed early and made our late arrival more fraught than we would have liked- when they were there they were very helpful- we loved the location and the town so overall was a great to stop for 4 nights

Breakfast should have been better. Even though it was a continental breakfast, this is a higher end hotel, I would have expected the selections to reflect this. Also, replace your bikes. We used 3 bikes, none had brakes and the seats would not adjust. Luckily there is a bike shop in town, so $25 for a safe bike was a no brainer.

Freshly made breakfast every morning. They even customized to accommodate dietary restrictions. Downtown is walking distance and they provide free bikes as well for the guests. Highly recommend stay here!

We loved the blend of historic bed & breakfast and modern hotel. Communication was great before, during, and after our stay. Amenities were lovely. Loved the availability of bikes and beach towels. We started our mornings with an excellent selection at continental breakfast; loved that tea and water were available all day and night, and the evening cookies were delicious. The bed was comfortable; supportive and soft. Loved the seating area in front of our in-room fireplace. Wish the robes were larger and we would have liked more hooks on the wall to hang our belongings. The staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, we can’t wait to come back!

We wanted to love this place. And some of it was great. But for the money, my expectations were high, and there were some misses for us. The goods and the bads are below:
Goods:
- location is terrific.
- loved the bikes and beach chairs and beach towels. Makes it easy to be a visitor who flew into the area and couldn’t load up the car.
- Lots of cool history around the hotel
- cookies were great
- shower was upgraded and lovely
- outdoor area was lovely as well. We used the fire pit and couches almost every day.
Bads:
- breakfast was fine but there was no variety. Every day was yogurt, quiche, and a pastry. It was fine but three days in a row was a lot of the same.
- OUR BED was awful. The bedding was nice and soft and definitely better than your standard Hampton Inn sheets but the bed creaked every time one of us moved even an inch. EVERY TIME. It was some of the worst sleep we had because of it.
- we arrived in the rain and there was no one even there to help us with our things. We walked around the building and were pretty wet once we made it inside. At $650+ per night, a person with an umbrella would have been nice, especially since I was texting with them about when we were arriving.
- the towels were rough. Not fluffy. Depends on what experience you want for your money.
We will likely look for another place to stay if we return just based on the value for the price.

Lovely, elegant and quiet Inn, within walking distance of the shops and restaurants. Grabbed a couple of bikes and explored Kennebunkport. Perfect for a long weekend… nice staff. Nice breakfast. Basically wonderful!

“Breakfast” was a joke. The room was clean but services overall disappointing for the cost of the room. I would not recommend.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at KCC. The homes and grounds are beautiful (we stayed at the William Jefferds House) and the staff was amazing. The breakfasts were delicious and the servers couldn't be more helpful / friendly. Consistent communication and quick responses to all of our questions / special requests, even before our stay! All this and just 2 short blocks from Dock Square / downtown Kennebunkport. We will definitely be back!

A beautiful set of homes in a beautiful and central part of town. The breakfasts are so clutch. The amenities are so great. We snagged bikes and rode to the beach, we read and sipped drinks out on the beautiful lawn couches, and always grabbed a cookie in the afternoons. Staff was friendly and helpful. We hope to be back soon.

We like very much the city and hotel, but we think that it offers less than it was paid. The room is good, but there´s no facility with the bathroom that's separated and have different level of the room. The breakfast is not good, there aren't options of meal.

Loved our stay at the Nathaniel Lord House. The only thing to note is the bath tub/shower was difficult to get in and out of (could be easy to slip). We loved the house, the grounds and the breakfast was delicious every morning! We would definitely stay again!!

We had a lovely time in the Jefferds house!
Room was very clean, cosy, and great for a couples getaway.
Perfect distance from all local restaurants, short drive to other main locations, and bikes available to ride to the beach.
Would definitely recommend, and we will be back!

Had a great visit. Property is very close to town but still very quiet and relaxing. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Easy access to beaches and restaurants.

This lovely bed and Breakfast, Nathaniel Lord, was the perfect place to stay on our visit to kennebunkport. The location was perfect and walkable to everything. We had the best night sleeps in the bed, too! The staff is lovely and accommodating. Although we were encouraged to walk around and view the other properties in the collection, we weren’t able to get around to it. We do plan on coming back and trying out another house.

Loved the room with private porch along with coffee options. However, breakfast options can certainly be improved.

Exceptional! Lovely luxury stay.

I would have given this hotel a perfect score except for the problem with the noise insulation in these 200 year old homes. You can hear everything in the other rooms and in the commons areas. The first night, there was about 8 people having normal conversation and we could hear everything. Luckily they call it a night at 10:30
