We absolutely loved the hotel and we will definitely be back!

Hotel was clean and comfortable. The location was convenient and close to nearby restaurants. I would stay there again if I'm in the area.

Could hear people entering and exiting the building as well as walking up steps on both sides of the room. Triple ensure you don’t forget anything in your room on checkout. Their policy is to “throw it away” no matter what it is.

We loved everything about this lovely hotel. Looking forward to staying there again on our next trip to Paducah.

Nice location to explore downtown
5.0
The hotel is great! Quite stylish with ample free parking in both their lot and out on the street. Only problem is that the area basically shuts down on Sundays & Mondays, so shopping & dining options are extremely limited to nil. Doe's was the only option for dinner or drinks, and luckily, it was quite good. Other than that, it is a cool area. I understand that Stella's is a great place to dine, but it, too, is closed Sunday & Monday.

Downtown location a little rough

I recently stayed at The 1857 and had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making check-in and check-out a breeze. The room was clean and comfortable, was beautifully decorated and exuded a sense of elegance and comfort.
The location was also perfect, with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance.

Great place, my only recommendation would be better mattresses

The receptionist was very friendly. The location was perfect for walking around downtown. It had close access to many restaurants and boutiques. I love the atmosphere of the hotel with the brickwork and the room was very comfortable and nicely set up. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I made a trip to Paducah for a date night for my birthday! The tub and shower were AMAZING! And all the staff were so friendly! We definitely would love to stay at the 1857 again!

Such a unique place! We enjoyed our stay!

We have stayed here a few times and love it. The staff is always amazing! The room is always very clean as well as the bathroom and shower/tub area. It’s an older building that they have made it look amazing! We had one issue this last time and it was a light outside our window that came on constantly not sure what that was all about. We informed the guy at the front desk and he was sending an email to let them know about it. He told us they had just opened up that building and they were trying to get everything working well. He assured me they would get it looked at. I would definitely stay here again!

Clean, quiet, spacious- needed one more chair in bedroom. Great restaurants within walking distance.

This place is great! Easy walk in the downtown area. Room was very clean, and the staff were gold-standard. Will stay here again… hands down.

We really liked the location. very nice place, would recommend getting a king sized bedroom on the second floor instead of queen on first. Would come again.

Beautiful boutique hotel in an excellent location that’s walkable to several great restaurants.

Unique, but lacking. The shower was wide open no real door and kinda chilly. The tile had Pink mold in the grout, because the water doesn’t drain properly. The idea of a wet room/bathroom was great but the execution was off. The room we had in the annex had one 2’ x 3’ window covered partially by a blackout curtain- thankfully at night because there’s a motion light that went on/off all night and a sliver of light would illuminate the room. sunlight was nonexistent. The bed was nice but my wife and I felt it tilted towards the headboard ever so slightly but discernible. Gap at bottom of main door was too large for my liking as well and could use a sweep. Room was clean in general. People and bartenders in main building were top notch. Needs someone with attention to detail to fine tune each room and it’ll be worth the money.

We love the condo! It is super neat and the staff is great. Our only complaint was the fabric on the furniture was stained up and we hated to sit on it. Other than that we had a wonderful time.

We loved this hotel. It was so beautiful, clean, and historic feeling. The layout of the room was awesome and we felt very safe.

We loved the hotel!! The only issue was our room was too warm and the air conditioner did not cool it down. In fairness to the staff we did not tell them about the issue until we checked out. We were only there one night. Would definitely stay there again!!

We LOVED staying at The 1857! The ONLY thing we didn’t like was that the hotel bar area was closed off for a private party. That’s part of the experience we enjoy that was not an option this stay. ☹️

I chose this hotel as a one night stop over due to the listed ratings and the price. We were disappointed. Upon arrival we quickly realized that this location was a "boutique" hotel...which really means they appeal to a small percentage of the population. The room was of adequate size for two but had issues. The walls were paper thin and noise from adjacent rooms was a problem. Our neighbor snored very loudly all night. We turned our tv on to mask the noise but the 96" screen (for a small room) illuminated the whole room. The bar down the hall was also very loud and could be clearly heard until late on a Thursday evening. The mattress was not very supportive. No cups in the bathroom (we have pills to take). The bathroom was an issue. Very large walkin shower was totally exposed to the rest of the room...no door, no curtain. Large amounts of hair from a previous occupant(s) was on the walls. Next time i will take more time to research. No more "boutique" hotels for us.

The 1857 is a beautiful and quaint boutique hotel with fabulous staff in an historic area next to the river in Paducah. Walking the history murals, eating at Doe’s, and enjoying the National Quilt museum all without driving. We will be back! More to see.
