Criterion certainly has that country charm, the staff were exceptionally good and friendly and very helpful. The staff make the Criterion great all over. Some of the patrons shod probably seek counselling or check into rehab. The staff deserve a 10/10 for all the crap they put up with. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay there.

Tidy and neat typical old hotel accommodation. Not much information on check in and did not know what to do with the key when we left. When we left at 8 am, hotel was locked and no staff to speak to or give the key to. Had to return later in the morning to return the key. That was inconvenient.

my rating is base on the fact that A: the hotel is quite an old building so so modern facilities are limited or non existent
B: in regards to noise this is a pub in the centre of the Warwick CBD so noise is to be expected. The room was bare but the bed was comfortable and the pub central to everything (well almost everything). The staff were friendly at check in. I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to book again.

I felt like my room was a prison cell

Only problem for me as pensioner was no chair to sit on in room. Simple straight back chair would have been useful. Also handrail on 3 steps on 1st floor landing between lounge and room 14 where I stayed.

The accommodation is "old world" and is both charming and comfortable. We stayed in the "flat" and found it suited us nicely for the Leyburn and winery trips. Also Morgan Park is close , if you enjoy racing cars!

After i had booked this room almost 6 months in advance.. THE OWNER cancelled it because he wanted to use the room- by that time all accommodation was booked out because of the festival. Expedia was impossible to contact and it not know it had been cancelled.

Good price for a solo traveller just wanting a bed to sleep.

Stayed for a week during the recent Ulysses Rally. The one thing that really stands out is how good the staff are. In a word, exceptional. They are hard working and more than once went out of their way to accomodate requests.

Heritage charm and lovely staff. Great location. Older style and basic facilities but makes up for it with the warm atmosphere

Dinning service poor lost our order.
Only 2 towels for 3 adults.not enough pillows.

Convenient location, friendly staff, value for money. It was a pub, priced accordingly. Not ashamed of bangers and mash, rissoles and gravy on the menu and unashamedly so. They weren’t pretending to serve locally made gourmet sausages and garlic puréed potatoes. We had a good time, when in Warwick next we’d stay again.

Old character was nice, staff friendly, chatty & helpful, good pub food, overall was a different experience. Enjoyed our stay

Such a pity. It’s a lovely historic building with adequate facilities. You can get a decent meal at the restaurant. The let down being that it does not have aircon so you need the window open. Our windows were directly above the beer garden which had clearly marked no smoking signs. Unfortunately these were not enforced by the staff ( and actually staff were seen smoking right next to one) which meant our small children were inflicted with a decent amount of passive smoke for hours. 4 of us are asthmatics and required medication due to the smoke. When I spoke to management she fobbed me off and did not care that they were breaking anti smoking laws as this area is not far enough away from where food was being served or building entrances. It is not adequately screened off as required. Bad management making for a bad experience

The property was clean, staff were friendly and we cannot fault our stay for the price.

We booked a veranda room for an overnight stay. Loved that the hotel had a lot of history and the vintage look. Room was very spacious and comfortable and that it opened up onto the veranda that overlooked the main street. The shared lounge/tv room also had coffee making facility. The shared bathroom was very clean and tidy, also had a iron and ironing board. We will differently book again to stay here.

Traditional pub stay with pretty comfortable beds. Verandah room a plus with direct access to sitting and space for morning coffee as Warwick wakes up to Saturday.

I loved that it was a presumably heritage listed building. The bathrooms were really clean and well-maintained and the hotel itself was warm and cosy. I didnt like how noisy it was though when trying to sleep, because of drunk, loud patrons. The beds were warm and comfortable but the overall bedroom was very outdated... needed new carpet and dresser, and the sink was stained and only had cold water.

Stayed in the Princess room that was. Very spacious and charming. Had an en-suite and air con so was very comfortable. Brass bed, claw foot bath and chesterfield lounge were lovely surprises

Great Pub, Good meals. Was particularly cold so an electric blanket would have been welcome.

The room was very basic, but cheap! Disappointing there was no heater in the room and it was very cold.

I booked this accommodation as my wife and I were looking forward to a pleasant night and meal away. On arrival found out the Hotel closes at 4.00pm with no bar or dinner available. Not really impressed with this lack of service.

Old hotel style accommodation. No bells and whistles, but very adequate for a quick stay. Wasn't crowded, no noise, no queue for the bathroom. Very central - quick walk to places of interest in Warwick. But bring your own light if you like reading in bed.

The rooms were clean and tidy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was the cleaning of the toilet and bathrooms other than that all was good.

We had a room that opened out on the first floor balcony which was a great spot to watch life pass by. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Valerie did an amazing job. Would stay there again.

Set in the heart of Warwick town centre, many years ago this would have been a very popular place to stay However, the accommodation is in much need of REFURBISHMENT.Its very noisy, having the town clock right next door is a nice feature, but be warned, sleep with ear plugs as it chimes on the hour through the day and night. Service isnt welcoming, considering you are staying at the accommodation, the amenities in the room were poor, no hot water, and the cold water ran brown. The accommodation doesnt open on a Sunday evening, making your choice to dine very difficult as its like a ghost town. The place to dine locally is the RSL which serves fabulous food.Value for money............???????

The bed was so small. No electric blanket or heater in room. The temperature was 4. But it has a wood fire downstairs.
