the room was fine for the price. niceand quiet. just a few issues:
it smelled a little like mildew,
the shower was strong but only horizontal,
no blackout curtains and so there was a lot light flooding into the room,
too hot and no temperature control, I just opened the window.

Lovely location and extremely friendly and helpful staff. I would gladly stay here again.

We love staying at places with a past, a story, not just a generic hotel you could find at any intersection in America. This place was such a find. Yes, it probably has seen better days... there are pot holes in the driveway, the grounds could use a little sprucing up, but I feel the owners really are putting effort into making this work. The room was clean, the bathroom upgraded, and we slept well in spite of the mattresses being a little squeaky. We especially loved the breakfast in the morning and the great conversation we had with the other guests. And just being in the Berkshires, literally next door to Edith Wharton's The Mount, and tons of other amazing places to explore, you can't beat this inn.

Beautiful location. Our room in the annex had some shower mildew. Other than that, everything was perfectly adequate.

The property was probably beautiful years ago - however today is has been seriously neglected - the main building needs a lot of repairs and clean up - basic like cleaning up = cobwebs in windows. Many reviews reflect disappointment because the photos on the site are very misleading. This is at best a 2-3 star hotel not worth the price.pool was falling apart so it was closed in July used to be a tennis court = is covered with damage & weeds. The outdoor area where weddings might be held have lots of weeds in the flower bed, grass growing through the gravel - I can't imagine a wedding here with the current conditions. The breakfast is very mediocre - hard bagels, hard boiled eggs, canned fruit. I didn't go the 2nd day. The room in the Terrace House was clean but very tiny. The toilet became clogged easily. There is a closet that doesn't totally open and the mirror on the other side is practically falling off and creates a terrible banging noise. Someone above us seemed to be walking a marathon in the room which was hard to believe given the space but from 6:30 am until 8 we couldn't sleep with the noise. There are lights on all night outside the window and they can't be totally blacked out - should have a timer. The property seemed to decline after a real estate group had it for 5 years but they promised major renovations? The new owner took over in January and the room maid mentioned that renovations were planned but the staff doesn't know what the plan is.

The place it was pretty. My only concern it was that the pool was closed. The main reason for what we choose this hotel was the pool for our kids. Sadly it was closed.

Nice property, but the bathroom was very dated. The sink was tiny by anyone’s standard and the 25 year old short round toilet was just inexcusable.

This old historic inn had rooms like a cheap motel. Nice beds. Good breakfast. Check in was clumsy. If this place was $75 a night, no complaints.

Quaint inn located near several town centers. Great stop in the Berkshires.

Pool was closed, staff was not particularly helpful or pleasant, room was full of beds -- no chair, desk.

This property is surreal, its like a fairytale once you pull in through the gate. Absolutely beautiful couldn’t have been happier

The grounds are beautiful. The new owners do not know how to run an inn. There is no longer any sense of graciousness about the place. I have been coming here for many years. It has changed for the worse.

The location of the hotel is delightful. Food for breakfast was delicious and common breakfast area was bright and attractive. The grounds were lovely, but parking was limited because spaces were not marked and perople parked only around the perimeter. No easy way to carry/roll bags to rooms.
Booking was a shock. It was my first time booking since my husband passed and I learned a lot in the process. I paid DOUBLE for the same room because I didn't book in Dec (when my husband unexpectedly died.) Despite this:
The room that I was given did not come close to the picture on the website in terms of spacing and decor. The window air conditioner was noisy, the blinds did not keep out the lighting from the hallway, steps to the 2nd floor were extremely steep, shallow, with a railing on 1 side. It felt treacherous.
It was TOTALLY not worth $450-500 p/night.

This is my kind of place. I spent a Thursday night here while passing through the Berkshires. Compared to other hotel properties in the area (and there are many), this place was a steal. I stayed in the Terrace house, which is essentially a two-story motel adjacent to the main house. Check in was a breeze. My room was clean and comfortable and had a nice view of the expansive lawns from the deck outside. I'm a cyclist, and the property offered great access to the scenic roads around Stockbridge, Tanglewood and Lenox. Afterwards I enjoyed resting in one of their hammocks followed by a dip in the pool. Breakfast the next day was plentiful and taken on the deck of the main house. Fans of the Berkshire "cottages" will appreciate the history on display in the 1st floor public rooms adjacent to the dining room.

Rooms dated and not very clean.
Seemed very understaffed.

If your looking for a nice reasonably priced property, Seven Hills fits the bill. Walking distance to The Mount, quick drive to Lenox center, room was clean and perfect for my needs, also breakfast included which was a plus. They also have a pool, which I didn’t use, but it looked very nice.

A gem we weren’t expecting. Nicely updated, super comfortable beds, great breakfast and peaceful grounds. We’ll be back!

At arrival, our key would not come out of the lock and the AC was not functioning properly. The office closed at 5 but a handyman was available. Both problems were resolved. Otherwise, delightful. The room was comfortable and the bonfire, pool, games were wonderful added features.

Large property, secluded, convenient to get to local attractions, good value, helpful staff.

This was a very nice and affordable overnight stay for me and my husband for our anniversary. We enjoyed the proximity to Shakespeare and Co. and the convenience of the breakfast in the am. Even played a nice little game of chess on the lawn chess board before we headed out.

Very old and not as newly renovated, as perceived by the photographs. The shower had sprayed directly at you as it was a hand held that could not be tilted towards the ground and ended up getting the whole bathroom floor wet after manipulating the showerhead. There was also no soap in the shower dispenser so the next day, after I had asked the front desk for a refill, they passive aggressively put two containers of shower gel in my shower. The front desk workers were not very pleasant. I was expecting much more from a four-star hotel.

Beautiful old estate - room was clean and functional. Breakfast inside the manor was very nice and made even better by the surroundings. Well worth the price.

The outdoor space was very beautiful and well groomed. Amazing spot for spending a nice evening. The room was clean and spacious.

A lovely old grand dame of a property that could use some tender love as she is showing some signs of neglect. The entry doors don't give the best impression for example and the sheet- like cloth hanging near the piano ill chosen as a curtain. It was overall a pleasant place to be.

Not a chain! Yay. A classic New England experience. I just wish I could have stayed longer.

The showers are dangerous! My MIL wouldn’t let my 80yo FIL shower because it was WAY TOO slippery. The property is gorgeous. The buildings and rooms need some TLC. There was definitely a big discrepancy between online photos and real-life. Lastly, we were there on a chilly night (in June) and we had no heat! It wasn’t a problem so much for my husband and I, but my in-laws were freezing cold.

It was convenient for the events we were attending; it was charming and comfortable.

Several rooms in the terrace house, both in the lower level and the first floor are located next to a very bright light which cannot be turned off during the night because of security concerns. The room blinds are not sufficient to block the light from interfering with appropriate sleeping conditions. We were moved to the carriage house location for the next two nights.

The property was beautiful and the staff was so friendly add helpful.

What a dumpster fire. What a dump.
The trouble started the minute we arrived. I expected it to look like the photo with a grand entrance, but was shocked how close to the main road it was and how run down it looked. Looked like a haunted house on the outside.
We booked a room in the main house. When we arrived, they said dogs were not allowed in the main house, so we had to stay in the Carriage House, not the main house. When I pointed out that I paid an extra $100 per night for the main house, they said there was no way to refund the difference because I booked on "Expedia" (according to them.). They did then refund the dog fee to compensate, but that still left us overpaying $50. They never compensated us the difference.
The carriage house is just horrible. What a dilapidated dump. I won't go into all the ways it was not maintained, but my favorite was that it was like climbing a hill to get to the bathroom in the room; the floor was that uneven.
On the first morning, our door lock battery died when we went to breakfast, locking our dogs inside and us outside. The staff tried to unlock it with a phone app, which of course didn't work because the battery was dead. The lock did have a place for a real key, but the hotel couldn't find the actual key. It took an hour for them to get the room unlocked after calling the lock company and "resetting" it with a paper clip. Very secure locks I guess.
All in all, we left early, after dinner the next night.

Unique, historical, architectural gem in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Service, lovely breakfast and host, relaxing atmosphere, loved stories behind the history.

It is a beautiful old property. It does need a face lift especially the terrace house but it has good bones. We got a good sleep. The mansion is beautiful and if you are lucky enough to have an event there congratulations.
