Quaint B&B with a very friendly and helpful staff.

I loved the quaintness of the Inn and especially the little suite I was in.
A suggestion would be to replace the 2 chairs in the main bedroom because they are all worn out. They look nice, but they are not comfortable to sit in.

The continential breakfast was somewhat Spartan. There was only one choice of a type of bagel. If something ran out one had to go to the front desk to inform the attendant who was hidden in a back room behind a computer. He never came out to check if there were enough bagels, coffee etc. One had to go and alert him.

Over priced for what you get. No elevators, no maid service or room service, air conditioners need repairs. Big gap where you see daylight so room doesn’t cool efficiently. For solo rooms, new mattress es are needed. The bed spreads are so old need updating! No television and no one around after nine. Continental breakfast, only one pot of coffee was out and ran out and no one filled it or was around. Only minimum amount of bagels, 5 in basket. Not adequate for number of people who stayed!

I have been to the Fullerton Inn for dinner with a friend when I came the first time from out of town. It was out on the back deck and it was tasty. This was our first hotel booking at the Inn. It was efficient getting in and the room was cool and clean. Thank you

Love this place but could upgrade the mattress

I was running a marathon in Springfield, VT, about 10 minutes away. The Fullerton was the closest place I could find.
It is an old building, and my guess is that each room is a bit different. This review is for Room 9.
Check in was fine, and the desk manager was friendly. The room was clean and quiet. The room had two single beds, although there was plenty of space for larger beds.
The bathroom was a joke. I'm 6'1". The metal frame on the left is the towel rack. It hangs out over the toilet at about 5'6". It is a lawsuit waiting to happen. The shower is behind me - it was a 2x2 fiberglass cube. I couldn't wash my feet without extending some part of my body outside of the shower.
Finally, there were only two outlets in the room, both mounted on baseboards about 3 inches above the floor. No TV, no microwave, no mini-fridge. If you are short and like "quaint", this may work for you, but I will never be back.

Bed and breakfast, room was small and no TV. Lot of antiques in every way so it was relaxing and unique experience.

This place hasn’t seen an update since the 80’s at best. Same old worn carpets and furniture. Building has rotted wood and needs repair and painting. Bathrooms antiquated. Under staffed

This place probably has the worst quality/price rating ever. Rooms are small, worn out and dirty. Bed was very worn out with a very poor mattress. Only entertainment in the room was the Holy Bible that was left laying on the table. There were even no glasses on the room (are we supposed to drink straight from the tap?).
When we arrived to the place, we were directed to a room that was not cleaned. When going back to the reception, they appologized and gave us another room.
When we asked for ice (from three different waitresses), they all said that they will do something but nothing happened. Breakfast was very limited.
I dont know what has happened to this place - many of the comments say that it was a nice hotel and it seems that this is really not true. There were only a couple of other customers staying at the hotel at the same time. Very quiet place.
There are other nicer places around, maybe it would be vise to choose one of them instead of this one.

Very interesting place. I loved the historic feel. However, the floors were very squeaky and almost felt like you could fall through sometimes. The continental breakfast, although appreciated, was very slim. One type of (huge) muffins, stale bagels, yogurt, orange juice, coffee. Having some milk, cereal or fruit would have been nice. Friendly staff however, we barely saw anyone at all.

Had a great stay at the Fullerton Inn. Was passing thru and found the perfect location for our needs. Warm beds, private bath, great dining on site, a cozy fire in the foyer and a tasty breakfast in the morning.

Our room had no amenities. No TV, no phone, no tissue or bath mats and no service. We were there for three nights and there was zero service - no trash emptied no towels replaced and no cleaning. It was very cold and the heaters were turned off at night until 7:30 AM. It was impossible to sleep at night. The lack of phone was very inconvenient, especially when the electricity went off at 8:30 at night. I was dressed for bed and had no way of contacting the front desk to report the outage. I called from my cell phone but no one answered the phone. Overall a very negative stay.

Cute property, comfy bed, clean, tiny bathroom, no TV and never saw any staff to rate. Nobody was there for check in or at breakfast in the morning!

I liked the historic style of Fullerton Inn. The continental breakfast was sufficient and included in my stay. The room was clean. The full size bed was too soft. At night time, there was a noise from the roof - flying cables were hitting the roof and making a disturbing noise. The dinner and drinks at Fullerton restaurant were great - I highly recommend it!

Picturesque building with quaint rooms. Staff was warm and helpful and the restaurant was perfect for weary travelers. We will definitely stay again if we are making our way through VT,

The property itself is wonderful and the owners are very kind and helpful.

Our stay at the Fullerton was for a two night snowboard trip at Okemo Mt (20 min drive). The Fullerton staff was very friendly, and made the stay smooth. The room was a little outdated and small, and there is no thermostat to control the temperature which was a little frustrating the first night. An electric heater was provided for your custom source of heat in the room. The restaurant had a good spread for lunch and dinner, and the food was very good! Overall, the Fullerton was a cozy stay and very fair priced.

Restaurant was outstanding
Room : bathroom extremely small
Heating not controllable,
Breakfast terrible; no brown sugar/syrup or raisins for oatmeal
Early travelers took 90 % of food
No management present

First time I stayed at a Vermont inn. Room didn’t have a tv in it, but that was fine with me. The room was exceedingly clean, bed was comfortable. Perfect as I rested up to go skiing the next morning.

This was the fourth time I've stayed at The Fullerton Inn in the last year so clearly I like the place. It's also convenient to Okemo where I ski. I've eaten in the restaurant three times. The meal has always been wonderful, and I've ordered a different entree in each instance. The room I just stayed in could use a small comfortable chair. Other than that, a very pleasant stay.

This is a beautiful historic hotel. When I arrived, the building was nicely lighted, and music was playing. Nice touch. The entry area has a large fireplace. My late arrival was accommodated with ease. Room was comfortable, clean and shower was good. Concerns were: 50 minutes before checkout time, I heard someone approach the door and put a key in the lock. No knock or announcement. I said something and the person apologized. As I was leaving, a linen door on the landing was left open. I was carrying bulky ski gear and bumped a cabinet with antique porcelain tea kettles as I navigated to avoid the door. Thankfully nothing fell. Between the front door of the hotel and the steps there was a large placard sign with dinner hours that blocked the egress. I didn't have any service requests, but I didn't see any owners or employees at the desk for my whole stay. My hope would be a knock before entering my room, the linen door kept closed and the means of egress kept clear. Overall a very positive experience. I would return.

When I walked in I was welcomed by the sound of piano jazz and a roaring fireplace. Staff was helpful and friendly and so were the guests. This place has a homey small town feel and I would recommend staying here.

No parking, had to park a block and a half away from hotel and walk in snow, roof started leaking water during dinner in restaurant, no tv or radio in the room

The hotel and staff were wonderful! They went out of their way to accommodate my dietary requirement for breakfast. I would stay there again and again!

The inn was very cute. It was on a busy road but had sufficient parking and nice stores nearby.

Lovely, quaint, historic building. Clean. Interesting surrounding buildings and shops. However, we were there on a Sunday, and the whole town seemed to be shut down.

Loved the place, it’s old so full of charm and perhaps not so easy, stairs, rumpled flooring but I like such places. Had dinner which was very good, has a nice little pub as well. Everyone I encountered was pleasant.

Staff was amazing. In house restaurant was very good.

A charming Inn. There is no elevator so be prepared to lug your suitcases up stairs. This place is adequate for a few nights stay

The Inn was so clean, lovely, and cozy that I slept like a baby. I had been greeted in the evening by a most lovely "Kate". A most beautiful and delicious breakfast was prepared by good elves in the night! And I enjoyed it before leaving in the morning. Thank you so much! Rosalinda Johnson, Boston, MA

The best thing way to describe the property is 'adequate'. After trying for two days to have the Inn Keeper take the window unit AC OUT of my window I gave up. Being in the low 40's at night with basically an open window wasn't ideal but worse than that was the fact I was 40 feet from the road and the traffic fired up around 5:15 AM. Couldn't sleep a wink past that.
It's an old structure, so there are some things unavoidable, but ignoring guest requests don't fall under that category.

Very charming, the new owner is wonderfully welcoming and the decor in the great room and breakfast area is definitely worth checking out. Fabulous fireplace, and super comfortable couches in the great room, with games and papers and books to look through.
Historical hotel that could use some maintenence in the room we were in, but was clean and comfortable. The bed in our friend's room was uncomfortable, but ours was fine.

Very cheerful and accomodating hosts, very clean, bed so comfortable! Good food too. We plan to return in the future.

We are 91 and 86 years old. We had no prior notice that the hotel had rooms only on the second and third floors, with at least two staircases to reach the second floor. (Which they refer to as the first, using the European style.) Also there is no elevator. We would not have booked here, had we known that.
There was no full breakfast, only muffins, pastry, and fruit.

You're swept away by the beautiful music playing in the stunning lobby.
The restaurant staff seems like a well orchestrated ballet.
Fabulous waitstaff. Five star.
The lady who checked me in was very charming. Poised. Gracious.
My room was a serious letdown. I gave ample time the following day to address the old carpet stains and the shower that was plugged and not draining.
By 8:30 at night that had not been handled. It was not a fit for me. I was concerned to not be held to my original 4 night reservation.
I was told by the man innkeeper I could leave.
Now.
He didn't 'have a staff of a hundred'
########.......to ensure me a spotless rug....
there was more...
Very shocking, jarring, not PC.
Did I HAVE a home????
Then......
"Go back now!"
He was beyond beyond.
She remained composed the entire time.
It was a very intense, unpleasant conversation that was extremely rude, explosive, uncomfortable.
Stunned,
I was able to find accommodations immediately, and left.
Presented my $163 bill for that one night.
Never in my life of working for Starwood, and then Marriott for two decades had I dealt with such standards.
It seems that there's a need to catch up, and what I sense is total Overwhelm.
I was determined to reframe my experience of the first time stopping in Chester,Vermont.
It seems the massive flood in July took a toll here, and there's the root of stress sensed in town.
Hoping all residents regain their balance.
Lovely restaurant.
