The experience was ok. The hotel was just plain in everything. Dont expect for any fancy for a cheap price because it really just a basic place to stay. basic bed and basic amenities.

It is a cheap hotel but first impressions werent too bad. However, no toilet seat and flushing the toilet using a bucket was not quite what I was expecting. I also should have remembered that cheap Philippine hotels have no hot water but there was no shower head, just a tap and the aforementioned bucket + a bailer so getting clean was done by filling the bucket and throwing water around. Inside, the stairwell was having its tiles replaced so it felt like a building under construction as I climbed the stairs. The real killer started the first morning. The third floor room overlooked Jaro Market. And at 4.30am, a boombox down in the market started thumping out killing any hope of the rest of a good nights sleep. I asked if I could be moved away from the noise but the only option was a room with no windows which felt even worse.I made the mistake of opening a dried fruit snack one evening and not finishing it. The ants appreciated the snack though but they were no match for the insect killer I bought in a nearby supermarket. The hotel did have cable TV but the picture and sound quality left a bit to be desired. And the real crunch in this day and age was that the promised internet connection didnt connect. Sorry, it doesnt work, I was told.Because I got a good rate, I could not cancel. I moved out as soon as the reservation expired.
