I had a horrifying experience during my stay at a&o Nørrebro on the night of November 23rd-24th. I had originally booked a private room for the following night but was moved to a shared dorm due to availability. Unfortunately, this decision led to one of the worst nights I’ve ever had at a hostel.
During the night, another guest engaged in explicit and inappropriate behavior, including masturbating in full view and making loud moaning noises. This behavior was clearly meant to be seen and heard, leaving me feeling deeply uncomfortable, unsafe, and violated. It was impossible to sleep, and I ultimately had to leave prematurely.
This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, and the hostel seemed to have no mechanisms in place to address such incidents. I strongly recommend avoiding this place unless they implement stricter measures to ensure guest safety and enforce basic standards of respect in shared spaces.
I’ve since complained to the hostel who have taken no interest in replying to my message, but has simply declined giving a refund. This leaves me with no option but to leave a bad review.

To many beds in that tiny room. Could not walk anywhere.

The room is too small if you have baby, but this is my favorite place to stay in Copenhagen

Parking should be available to book online with hotel book. Orherwise great stay, staff were really helpful.

Got a much smaller room than was displayed in the photos at the time of booking... This was misleading... Staff was super helpful though, especially Michael at the front desk.

It's better staying raming on the streets than at this hotel.

Hidden fees...dirty rooms...stains on floor and walls...dirty bathroom...drug users in the parkinglot...terrible experience and will never stay there again...

The worst hostel experience of my life, felt unsafe.
The dormitory has a view on the street's sidewalks with pedestrians literally peeking into the windows. Can't tell what's worse, that or living with some guests on substances, vomiting all over the floor in the middle of the night, etc.
Staff was rather classist, telling me I shouldn't complain about how filthy the so-called guest kitchen was because it was the cheapest accomodation of Copenhagen (which is false).
Toilets were clean though, I'll give them that. Would NOT recommend at all, unless other hostels were fully booked.

I didn't like the room in the basement, and the mattress on the bed always slipped off. I would have liked a glass in the bathroom. Otherwise, the stay was fine. I really enjoyed the breakfast and the staff was very friendly.

Don't understand, Why the dog has to pay a daily fee although the cleaning is done once at the end.
Shower equipment not a a good condition.

Property close to train/metro lines.
Property falsely advertises room size and amenities.

We rented a private room for four with a small washroom. The hostel was clean and generally quiet. Staff were helpful. Locals told me the area around isn't the safest, but we had no issues. The metro and train is very close, so it is convenient. A good place to stay for a good price.

+ Clean, good room with clean sheets and shower to a very good price. Good that there was a common kitchen were you can store your things in the fridge. Good bar and breakfast.
- If you are a light sleeper, you will be woken up by the noise outside. When I was there they are working outside and you hear machines and other building noises. If you are on a very short trip and want to maximize your experiences, this hotel is about an hour walk from the central station (of course you can grab a bus/taxi) but I walked and it was really cold outside so I was to tired to go back again. If you only have like on or two days, I recommend you stay in the city center, unless you like walking or like taking the bus/taxi.

Leakage in the bathroom and extremely immature costumer service / receptions assistance.
I have talked with 5 different persons from A&O Hotels.
They are not listening to me talking out.

Great stay. Close to metro. Not quite downtown but close enough.

Our room wasn’t very clean. We had a family room with two beds and a bunk bed. The bunk bed wasn’t made, and my children crawled everywhere. The bunk beds mattresses aren’t pretty to look at, with all the old stains.
My son also found an apple under the bed, and it wasn’t ours.
I’ve been in the cleaning business, so I know from experience they don’t have much time for each room, but I think there is room for improvement. Even though guests are careless about about to treat a place that it’s not theirs.

I really enjoyed my stay at a&o. Private bathroom to a room was a big plus. The kitchen was a bit small but it had two fridges, a mikro and a little stove to be used for cooking. The laundry was easy to use and cheap. :)

Very noisy hostel. Beds were noisy, we could hear our neighbours constantly..
There was mould in the bathroom. The beds weren’t made.
It said parking but there wasn’t room for our car so we had to leave The car on another parking lot and walk to The hostel.
Overall it was too expensive considering The poor quality of The hostel

Breakfast arrangement was stressful for both guests and personnel. There was constantly lack of cups or plates or foods. Personnel did their best but waiting times were long. Therefore checking out at due time was stressful.
Clean and nice place, very friendly and helpful personnel.

It was a nice stay and close to the city center. There was a good vibe. Unfortunately there were not many parking places, so we had to park on the public street.

The rooms are much to small, there are no place for the cloths or the luggage. The beds are like in prison, only iron and too small, even for the child. Our daughter was a few times punching the wall and some parts of the bed. The colors of the room are so dark and this in a small room. Even for the lower price it is too expensive. There are train stations very near, but the area is difficult. The breakfast is simple but OK I think.

There's no A/c and noisy you can hear upstair/downstair room being loud. I left my food in the fridge labeled it and someone touch it, it's gone. Understaff while checking in, long wait. There's kitchen you can cook even the pan is not in good condition. They have microwave, hair dryer, shower gel, body wash and shampoo for single/double room. Tap water is safe to drink.

The room was small, but ok, the innersprings in the mattress were able to be felt, there was no boxspring.

We try to stay there for close business. The building is big, great location, not expensive. The kitchen and common areas are dirties. We paid 4 nights and we have to leave at the second day, all our body and face were bite for bedbug. The room was really infected with these bugs. If you don’t mind to be bite for bed bug stay there. It’s a cheap facility! Please put more attention to desinfect and clean the areas and rooms. We are very mad for the inconveniences, extra paid for another hotel and worst for the red and big skin rash. We had to buy medicine, and we need days to heal in our trip around the Nordic Countries. We would ask for the total refund. It’s is unacceptable and not responsable from the Administration

Quiet clean rooms, pretty good breakfast, helpful desk staff.

From entrance doors that struggle to open, to the matress that has its springs sticking out, this a&o hotel is a poor choice for anyone, except for maybe alcoholics and broke teenagers. The staff was nice though.
