The location of the Mystic Mountain Hotel is superb with great views but that is probably all that is good about the hotel. The property is not well maintained. The staff are friendly but they require more training in cleanliness and health and safety measures. The hotel caters for many day visitors not resident at the hotel and the facilities in the hotel are far inadequate for the number of users.
There are many children but there is no children’s swimming pool and the only swimming pool is far too deep for children so the children pack themselves into the adjacent Jacuzzi which then becomes too crowded.
The restaurant is extremely noisy, small for the size of the guest and you often have to brush against people to get to the buffet. The quality of the food is average at best and overpriced.
Overall, this is a hotel that is too hyped and in my experience of staying there for three nights leaves me feeling underwhelmed and unsatisfied of the time spent there. It has the potential of being a great place but that potential has not been reached at this time.

Pleasant hotel with good buffer food and excellent views .

Beautiful hotel with amazing views. Lovely decor throughout. Lots of seating areas. Could do with a couple of patio heaters at this time of year for late afternoons or early dinners. Rooms with the large balconies are wonderful and you can sit and watch the sun rise over the mountains with your coffee. Ideally free tea and coffee could be provided in the mornings for sunrise time on the terrace. They offered it late afternoon when it was quiet instead.
Good amenities - table tennis, basketball and a net for tennis or volleyball. There is a pool which is very cold at this time of year. The hot tub had lots of potential but was luke warm, busy and no proper changing room, just a bathroom. No robes provided to access by changing in your bedroom. Great buffet on Saturday night and at breakfast.

Ok, so this is the first time I have ever reviewed a property in my life, and it is because I just have to give respect when it is due. I have traveled all over the world and stayed in some of the best hotels there is to offer, but if I am thinking just dollar for dollar, then this might be the best hotel I have ever been to. I mean I barely paid over a hundred dollars a night, and it is one of the most peaceful and scenic places I have ever been. The staff is incredible, and both the breakfast and dinner buffets are next level. Having morning coffee looking out over the snow capped Himalayas is as good as it gets. Also, the infinity pool and hot tub are just incredible when taking in the high altitude Nepali sun. I come to Nepal about once a year, and now this hotel will be a staple of every trip. Make sure to book the room w the larger balcony, as it is worth the few extra bucks. 11 out of 10. A

Great views great room. I liked the open air concept for getting about the hotel but made for very cold walk to get to restaurant, coffee. One is isolated from stores, etc but prices at resort are reasonable and good food. Tricky to navigate getting around the resort due to lots of stairs up and down. Overall a nice resort would recommend

Great Stay, Wish I had another night.!

My room is spacious and clean, facing the mountains so i dont need to go elsewhere to see sunrise. The only minor issue is lack of elevators so its not suggested to have bulky luggage

Amazing view from the hotel, even though when you first walk into the reception area. Even better when we got an room upgrade to a room with a big patio. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also amazing with plenty of choices and selections. We had a good dinner too and they were reasonably priced.
If you are looking for a place to relax, and staying away from the buzzing Kathmandu.... this is the place to be.

This is a great place! + Great rooms, staff and probably the best food we have had in Nepal. - beer like most hotels is pricey & there were a few noises lady guests that shattered he peace bit. If ever in Katmandu then this place is worth the bumpy road journey for a great night!

Great views, beautiful facilities, good food and kindfull service.

The best part of staying in this hotel is the location as you can view the majestic himalayan range. But a small flaw in this hotel is that the staffs, as some of them are a little rude or not friendly I would say. But the himalayan range pushes all the negative factors down and ensure you are mesmerised with it.

The views are spectacular. Not anything I didn't like.

Airport pick-up was great and a weight off my mind, check-in easy, room was fabulous with spacious balcony and huge windows, very comfortable bed, great shower and t&C facilities too. Wi-Fi worked well. Breakfast was plentiful. Lunch and dinner menus were full enough, and the food was very nice. Gardens/terrace were very nice with lovely views. The pool was stunning. Staff were very helpful and graceful.

Greetings from Hotel Mystic Mountain. This 4 star hotel is nestled in a mountain side 2,100 meters high. Part of the Himalayan chain, this beautiful location is 2+ hours from Kathmandu, Nepal. The ride by taxi will get your heart pounding as you travel up the mountain on difficult terrain. The trip is worth it if you are an adventurous soul. Hikers love this area. As the clouds roll in at night, one is blanketed in mist. You get a sense of just how vast and majestic God’s creation is. When traveling in Nepal, this location is an absolute must to visit. It’s a beautiful place.

All i want is to relax, rejuvenate, recharge and spend Me time alone when i planned my trip to Nagarkot - Nepal. When choosing a hotel, i always consider peoples review. But i never imagine staff of this hotel will go extra miles just to make their guest very happy and satisfied.
Kudos to all the staff who are very nice, helpful, jolly, friendly and accommodating especially to Moona and Bijay who became my instant friends. You made my birthday extra special for doing something beyond your duties. Thank you guys for everything and the memories.
In general its exceeded my expectation, from the upgraded big room, comfy bed, huge balconies, awesome views of Himalayan mountains, food, facility and most of all the friendly staff. Hope to visit you again some day.

nice and comfortable but expensive.

Out of the world views of the Himalayas. Wonderfully built hotel and great rooms. Very helpful staff and very good kitchen.
The only point of complaint is the state of the road that leads to the hotel. This is a dirt road and the journey to the hotel is very bumpy. Once this can be improved, this would be a perfect place for a peaceful getaway.
Hope to be back!

buffet dinner could have more non nepali/indian items.
very good views from the hotel

Exceeded my expectations. Staff very attentive and eager to please. Location splendid, views spectacular. Love the large balconies, the very modern rooms, the wide breakfast selection, the friendliness of the restaurant staff and just the overall architecture of the place. There is also a useful list since there are about 6 levels, with gym and pool on bottom. Better information and map on area hikes would be useful. Drinks a bit pricey. Would definitely stay here again.

I would say our stay in this hotel is just OK. The view from the hotel and from our room was excellent. No doubt about that. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Now for the CONS. The food from the restaurant was poor for the price you’re paying. The meat served (pork, mutton, and chicken) were either hard to chew, dry, tasteless, or undercooked. We were thinking, were the chefs even trained on how to cook meat? Fruits where not always fresh. The view from the restaurant is stunning, though so that made up for it. Wifi is poor to nonexistent. We asked them to fix it a couple of times and they did, but connection was still poor. Cleaning crew came into our room even though we had the DO NOT DISTURB light on. That happened a couple of times. The staff were slow to answer to your needs. We called the front desk for a couple of bottled waters and it took them close to an hour to get us some. The hot water stops running at around 8 PM. The water is only lukewarm to cold around that time, which makes it cold especially during winter. On our first night there, I took a shower at 11PM and I was shaking as I showered because I was so cold (we stayed early January). The heater was very weak. It was running and we could feel the hot air coming out of it but the heat just stayed around where the heater was blowing.... the rest of the room stayed cold during our entire stay. There was nothing they could do about that they said. The location around the hotel was blah.

Was good hotel comfortable bed but the only problem is the service charge and vat is quite expensive and also if we are booking the hotel from online please can you write in nepalese rupees instead of indian rupees as people might get confused.

Excellent place and views of the mountains an unbelievable view but make sure your sheets and towels are cleaned properly ours were not and we had to have them changed.

This hotel is set in a truly beautiful setting, in a very elevated hilltop location.
The hotel is relatively new, and has some wonderful aspects about it, but... there are elements that frankly feel like it hasn’t quite ‘grown into’ its aspirations yet.
The reception staff were excellent, as were the cleaning staff. But bar and restaurant staff were a mixture of good and bad though.
At first glance the fixtures and fittings are stylish and stunning, however the more you look in detail, the more you see things are just not quite ‘finished’ yet. Small silly things, such as lose taps, missing mastic/trims here and there, dirty windows, that sort of thing. And more staff training is required for some of the staff - it felt a bit like the hotel opened for the first time yesterday, with some staff not really totally knowing their job yet. Frustrating really as they are all minor things that would be easy to fix and maintain, to make this a really wonderful hotel.
In many ways the location overcomes the small niggles. But the owners have clearly spent a fortune developing this hotel and designing it in such a stylish way, it does seem such a shame to be let down at the final hurdle, with such silly minor things.
