Dust and dirt under and behind furniture. No dishwasher to sterilize dishes or kitchenware.

We had an incredible time staying here! We came from Sacramento for a weekend birthday getaway and it truly felt like a nice relaxing mini vacation. We both felt at peace staying here and loved the ocean view in the morning and evenings. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We didn’t want to leave! Definitely will be back!

Booked a last minute trip to Mendicino and found this charming inn. It's a few minutes south of Mendicino. I was initially worried it may be noisy being just off the freeway hit it was very quiet. The space was clean. Easy access to the town and surrounding attractions. Communication with staff made for easy check in procress. Would book again.

Host was very accommodating despite our arrival well past midnight. Our room was ready and warm. The night temps in the are were close to freezing. Arriving to the warm room helped to rest well and be ready for a new day full of adventures.

Good place for quiet time without people around.
Felt secure and enjoyed the quiet alone time.
They definitely have their procedures down and if you follow you’re going to have some good days.

This is a cabin type rental. Cabin is nice and comfortable and about 5 miles from the town of Mendocino where there is more going on. It was clean and comfortable but had to go to Mendocino for breakfast anyhow. But if you are looking for a restful night it is a nice place.

We paid extra for a pvt hot tub. It was clean and hot. The grounds are lovely. Every room had a Weber BBQ and charcoal. Classy. Firewood too.

The room that I stayed in had ants on the bed covers and pillow cases.

Our private room was on a hill with an ocean view with a deck, table & chairs. Lovely grounds. Peaceful & quiet. Everything was spotless, bed was super comfy with high quality linens. We happened to meet the owner & innkeeper who were wonderful. Can't wait to return!

Very enjoyable! It was a great place to relax and enjoy the sights with our fur baby before the holiday bustle. Spacious & cozy! Comfortable bed, yard area, patio, equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom with a soothing large jet tub. Lots of walking trails nearby and yummy places to eat. The coastal views were gorgeous!

This was a cute small property right off the freeway. Overall a pleasant stay.
Pros: Fireplace, partial ocean view beyond the trees, outside deck, friendly and responsive staff.
Cons: No front desk, check in is a at a location off the property, noise from freeway drowns out the sound of the ocean waves.

Traveling to Mendocino is always a treat for us, so when our options were limited due to the popularity of the fall season, we were a bit skeptical of the Inn at Buckhorn Cove. What we found instead was a delightful and intimate inn with everything we needed to celebrate our first wedding anniversary! Their pet-friendly accommodations and easy outdoor access for pet potty breaks made staying with a dog a breeze. The best part of our stay was the bed! Very comfortable mattress, pillows, and bedding–better than some 4 and 5 star accommodations I've stayed at. We were missing a view, but made due with our outside chairs that faced some greenery where we spent a lot of time listening to music and drinking champagne. For those looking for an affordable, close to town option, and a fantastic night's sleep, the Inn at Buckhorn Cove is not to be missed!

It was very quite and we enjoyed our stay.

The first night was good. The second the people in the adjoining room were very loud up until 3:00 am. As I had no one to contact at that time, I left a message at the office at 2:00 am speaking of the issue and not being happy. It has been 6 days since leaving and have never heard back from anyone to at least check in with me.

Nice cottage style property. Good parking and clean and recently remodeled rooms. Very cute place about 5 miles for Mendocino.
We had a bit of an issue with the gas smell from the fireplace in our room when we arrived. We had to open up all the doors to dissipate the smell from the pilot light in the gas fireplace. We called and the owner responded within 30 minutes.

What a lovely cottage. We stayed at the sunset room for a week. We loved the room, the patio and view. We will definitely be back for another stay.

Great location. Spacious suite, comfortable bed, amazing tub. We enjoyed our stay. Our only few complaints: the suite was very cold upon our arrival and the fireplace took most of the afternoon and evening to bring it to comfortable temp. The space heater provided was broken. The porch light motion sensor was broken and would come on when we were not at the door and turn off when we needed it to light so we could unlock. Also, we called to try to schedule a couples massage (twice) during our three night stay and never heard back, which was disappointing.

Heat not very controllable, beds roll around without much control, tiny space, not much area for walking, far from any conveniences.

We had a little trouble finding where to check in, ended up coming in from the back side of Sweetwater Spa, but check in was easy and everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. Having forgotten that I had already paid through Expedia, I inadvertently paid again at check-in, so make sure you have proof that you've already paid. We found the property and room easily, the view was fantastic, the room was clean and well stocked. We never used housekeeping. We brought our 9 month old Lab, and she was quite happy with the accommodations. Overall, it was a very nice relaxing stay.

I had a great stay at Inn at Buckhorn Cove in the Bay Suite, and would stay again. The appointments in the room were good quality for the price, and I had everything I needed-- coffee, mini-fridge, TV with streaming options, fireplace, comfy bed. The front deck was lovely, and you can see the water through trees from the deck. The cleaning staff were super sweet and respectful. The property is close to the street, so the only downside was fairly constant traffic noise. For anyone with an EV, I managed to plug mine into an outside socket at the Bay Suite to charge overnight (with a 40 ft extension cord), which was wonderfully convenient as all the chargers I found in Mendo were Tesla-only. I've stayed in a few of the Little River roadside inns and b&bs, now, and this was my favorite of them.

Pros: nice fireplace, friendly staff, clean beautiful bathroom, decent bed linensCons:(1))right outside of the forest den room is a large propane tank, so if you open your sliding glass door and curtains, all you see is the big "flammable" sign on the tank with a drive way to the neighboring hotel behind it. (2) there were ants on the table and in our beds when we arrived. It was a small amount, but got progressively worse over two nights. It's awful to wake up feeling something crawling on you in your sleep.(3) there's no window - just a sliding glass door. If you want to sleep with fresh air, your room is essentially unlocked.

Arrived with the fireplace on. The parking is easy to reach from the car. There is a mini microwave and mini fridge. Mendocino is close by. There is a tv, but it’s set to loud volume, and couldn’t be adjusted using the remote or the volume controls on the tv itself. There’s a musty odor that took a bit to get use to. Overall a nice room. Check in is at an alternate location in Mendocino.
