Great location, the restaurant is also good enough and the beds and washrooms were clean and comfortable. The internet on the other hand was awful, not even to use whatsapp in our room and we had a few problems with the power that they finally fixed. Also the room service entered twice without consent and not even knocking the door.

Very loud with people walking in room above us. Room was clean but needed remodeling! Great location!
3.4
Reception a bit grumpy, perhaps a long day. Tv didnt work. WIFI weak outside only. Restaurant food basic. Still considering where you are, not bad value for money
3.4
It's okay for what you pay
Old motel trailer park and camping
The room was clean the restaurant food is ok
3.4
The room was ok and you get what you pay for. However the attitude of the male check in staff was appalling - loudly berating customers in front of us without really attempting to deal with their issue whilst they remained calm and reasonable.
3.4
Everything was okay, beds and towels clean and comfy. A bit Noisy as parking is in front of all the rooms.. Too bad the restaurant and shop were quite "limited" in their offers and opening times. Many rules here...

There was a mistake where hotels.com booking came up as the day of booking instead of the intended, next day. Called and messaged hotel and they were contacted by hotels.com, but they were unavailable. They have no one answering phones or messages all evening. The next am they still were not able to resolve. Finally they declined switching the dates, since the incorrect booking date had passed, despite having availability that night. I paid $350 for an unused room the day prior, and was forced to drive my family 2 extra hours after dark the night we needed a hotel, while they had space. Inflexible and unavailable.

The only bad thing is that the restaurant is not pet friendly, not even on its terrace...

I understand the need for cancellation policies (I am a small business owner as well). If the property holds your room for you and misses other opportunities to sell that room and you don't show up, they should be paid. However, I booked a room on Expedia at 11 pm for a stay 3 days hence. Before the office opened in the morning, my travel partner had mechanical problems with their motorcycle and we couldn't make it. When I returned to the site, there were the same number of rooms available on Expedia as the night prior (this was only 11 hrs. after the booking), so they hadn't missed an opportunity to rent a room. When I called they refused to provide a credit and charged my credit card the nearly $400. To be fair they did provide a credit for a future stay (until the end of the year next year, but its highly unlikely I will be able to make it). While this is narrowly within the policy, it is terrible customer service, so don't expect much beside the room from the property. I am really disappointed, so be careful.

It's is a little run down for the price you are paying for but it's is in a good location with little competition.

I recommend sleeping in your car over staying at this property! Poor accommodations and the service and staff is terrible!! I could go on but what is the point. Find another property to stay at and save yourself money and a huge disappointment!! I would give it a negative rating if I could. -3 would be fair!!!

Rooms have been updated, but still an old motel. Beds are good, but no AC and limited in room seating. Wifi is a real challenge. Very limited cell coverage here.
Great trails to fantastic views of the lake make up for it. Restaurant is fine, with good service there. A bit too much $$$ for what is on offer, but cheaper than Banff and much quieter.

Had pictured something nicer.

Property refused to refund even though we couldnt get there due to fires in the area. Third party booking site as well as myself tried multiple times. We were promised a credit at a minimum and also have not seen that.

Room was clean just outdated. No A/C, no fan. Didn't feel comfortable leaving the window open, more like a 2 floor motel vs. a lodge, with very little privacy. We just stayed one night even though we booked 2 nights non-refundable.

Room 32: only one chair in a room for 2, missing a table for a comfortable sitting together and having a coffee, bathroom faucett very inconvenient (splashig water outward), missing noise barrier between our room and the neighbours. P.S. Expensive (over $200 per a basic room per night)...

Room bedding is uncomfortable and dirty , staff is very Grammy would not recommend to stay there

We rented one of the rooms for one night. The room was clean, and seemed recently updated. Everything worked in the room. Wifi was provided. It wasn’t super fast but being located in the mountains it was adequate. There was no air conditioning but there was heat. There are coin operated laundry and dryers. There is also coin operated vending machines with snacks and drinks. There is a small store that has a good variety of items. A small restaurant with good food, but can quickly get busy. The place was surprisingly fun. You have mini golf, a classic old style playground and a general oasis for both travelers and guests (I.e a old style gas pump and store) for a place in the middle of “nowhere” it’s a nice place to stay.

A great place to breathe from all sorts of stress, it gave me the mood to reminisce all the great and happy memories of life. Loved the mountain views and the sound of nature at night.

Clean, updated rooms. Good restaurant. Good location on highway.
Rooms were hot as no air conditioning.

Absolutely horrible. No air conditioning in any of the buildings and a 34 degree plus day. Renovations were done very poorly with baseboard falling off, walls ending inches above the floor, our deadbolt lock not locking without a five minute fight each time. No telephone in a region that does not support cell phones(this should be illegal) our tv didn’t work, we were told to wait till “tomorrow” to have fixed because there was no one at the hotel who knew how to fix it. On my Wife’s insistence they switched the cable box with a vacant rooms and we then had tv. The store does not sell anything, including soft drinks that classify as either diet or diabetic friendly. That’s right, no soft drinks and nothing priced on the shelf where you would know how much it was. We bought a water, a tiny bag of peanuts, an iced tea and a small bag of chips for $15.00!!!!!!! Even the restaurant doesn’t have air conditioning making dinner difficult to take. Everything about this place says “opportunistic business owner” who thinks he has a captured market. Would I ever consider staying again……..not on your life!

The rooms were basic, the showers had very low water, it was insanely noisey, you could hear every noise from the rooms above and next door. The aircon didn’t work and it was boiling. The smells from cooking in other rooms was throughout our rooms. The rooms were insanely hot and the wifi was terrible. Overall it was a dump

Great view of the mountains and our meal was good. Unfortunately, it was very hot our first night at DTR so air conditioning would have been much appreciated. The room was fine, though and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.

Good hotel

I found this hotel because of the price, at the high season people visit Banff and Jasper, the price at this hotel is very good. Not a fancy hotel but the price is right.
3.4
Covenient roadside position. Good size room as part of a large campsite. Restaurant was good value and service could not be faulted. Lake was a good walk away and it was very low for our visit.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful one-night stay at David Thompson Resort. The cabin comfortably accommodated us, and we were impressed by the exceptional service throughout our visit. The staff was welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met, providing helpful local tips and ensuring a smooth check-in.
The personal touch from the owners was a highlight, as they were actively involved in ensuring guests were well taken care of. Our kids loved the playground, mini golf and the new game room, which kept them entertained. The cabin itself was clean and cozy, with comfortable beds and a fully stocked bathroom.
Located amidst the stunning Jasper National Park, the resort offered breathtaking scenery and easy access to hiking trails. Overall, David Thompson Resort provided a perfect blend of comfort, hospitality, and natural beauty, making our stay truly memorable. We highly recommend it for families seeking a peaceful getaway in Jasper.

This hotel is in a great location. Very nice scenary all around you along with tranquil atmosphere. We even spotted a bear while coming to this hotel. Really no negatives except for the limited food options but it does not dampen the whole camping sprit
3.4
Didn’t have air conditioning. It was very hot outside
Rooms need a serious renovation. No bathroom fan. Looks like what is mound painted over in bathroom.
Restaurant food and service good
3.4
Be aware there is no air conditioning no sheer only curtain. Floor and walls in bathroom were dirty. Beds were clean. Overall feels like a motel and seems to be falling in disrepair.

Crawling bug and food crumb on bed sheets. The waitress at the restaurant wasn't welcoming at all; no hi or asking us to wait to be seated. When we asked her if we could just sit anywhere, she responded yeah anywhere that's clean. I thought that wasn't very nice. The guy there was nice and friendly though but he was probably busy in the back and didn't show up till later.

This entire establishment was horrendous. There is no service in the area, so you have to rely on wifi. Doesn't help when only a limited amount of people can use the wifi. The thermostat in the room didn't work so the heater was set to 26°C and would not stop running. On our second night, we got back late and our key card didn't work so we had to get in through the window. Good thing we left it open a crack. That being said, the security on the rooms is nothing if it takes me 2 seconds to reach through the window to open the door without damaging anything. They say there is a public microwave but fail to let you know that you can only use it until 8pm. The facility states that the gates are closed between 11pm - 8am. We came back early enough to be back before the gate closed and then learned in the morning there is not gate time. Finally, when needing to get a hold of the staff after hours when our key card wasn't working, nobody would respond when using the method to contact afterhours.
