Me and my mom had a wonderful stay at this traditional Ryokan. Every detail in this hotel was amazing. The room was precious, the food was delicious and the onsen was incredible. I would recommend anyone wanting to have a unique Japanese experience to stay at this wonderful Ryokan.

This place is amazing. Service is wonderful. Food is extraordinary and there are 2 excellent hot springs in hotel. One of best experiences of my 2 week trip.

The room was incredible, experience a lot of fun (Onsen and monkeys) and the breakfast / dinner were some of the best dining experience. The value is unmatched ! Tomo is a very helpful and kind host who thinks of every detail to make your stay unique and memorable (pick you up from the train station / book a private Onsen). We only stayed 2 nights but should of spend at least 4-5 nights as it was a very relaxing area and peaceful area - a stark contrast from the big cities.

We loved Kamei no Yu! The two women operating the ryokan were exceptionally friendly (slight language barrier, but we managed) and offered fantastic hospitality. The room itself was lovely, with sliding doors opening onto the outdoor garden and a private ensuite bathroom/shower.
There are small male and female onsens on site (separate), and you have access to several other public baths - one of which was big and beautiful and outdoors. Note that there isn't a mixed gender or private onsen available here, which initially scared us, but it ended up being an authentic and memorable experience at the public ones! Highly recommend.

It was the best experience in my whole entire life as far as vacation/business accommodations are concerned . From the warmest reception of the owner to the surprise hot matcha green tea and red bean treat , to explaining everything the property has to offer in a very conscientious and personalized attention I got like I felt I was the only guest . I never felt so important . The tatami room was as expected : very clean and organized with another surprise red bean treat and tea . The breakfast that was included in my 2 night stay surpassed all my expectations for the price . The owner even drove us to and from the snow monkey park which was an added bonus that we didn’t expect . Also the spouse picked us up from the Japanese restaurant we had dinner at after the husband dropped us off . There are so many other things I can say but I’m afraid it will require more pages . Come and stay here and you will have an experience of a lifetime, one you won’t forget ! The hospitality of the host family transcended all my previous hotel experiences !! 10/10 is an understatement and an insult to this hotel and the family that owns it I will definitely be back !! Thanks hotel.com for leading me to this hotel !!

The hotel and staff were amazing and more than we could have expected. No question was too silly and no request was out of the question. It was really easy to get to aswell, just a 6 minute walk from the train station. Even though it was so close the area and hotel was still so quiet and very very peaceful. K the concierge was so patient with us, as not local speakers, and was just so thoughtful in his explanations of the hotel and local area as well as organising transport and tips for the things we wanted to do. Definitely a perfect stay to what is the start of our Japanese tour.

The Ryokan is good and hosts are friendly. They offered free shuttle to Snow Monkey every 9am. We missed it but the host was kind enough to give us a ride there. You can enjoy other three public Onsens apart from the one in the hotel. The big down side is that dinner is not served in the hotel but another hotel that’s about 5min walk, which is not stated clearly on the booking site. There’s good variety of food but quality was not quite up to our standard. Breakfast served in the hotel was way better.

Very nice staff and spotlessly clean. Hot spring in hotel is not big but very enjoyable as there’s seldom anyone else. Good to try the partner big hot spring across the corner.

Beautiful traditional Ryokan with a nice private Onsen (hot bath). Very helpful and friendly stuff. Rooms are very clean and well maintained.
