The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast and evening meals are good. And when I am in the area again would be my 1st choice to stay.

Only problem was no hot water if you rose early in the morning

All of the staff were so lovely, really friendly and couldn’t do enough for you, without being overbearing. I was initially a bit worried when I arrived as the bar was busy with loud music but it was turned off by about 11. The cost was very reasonable too but I would say the staff made it for me.

Good last minute stay to attend a Brewdog beer festival. Helpful staff and good breakfast. The room was fine but the street outside was noisy.

We were only staying the one night at Hogmanay. As this was a national holiday no cooked breakfast was available which was understandable due to staff on holiday. The room was clean and comfortable unfortunately it was up three flights of stairs (no lifts). Overall althoigh a short stay i would recommend the hotel.

Our original booking had been cancelled due to Covid so we were in a bit of a last minute pickle. However, was pleased that the Buchan could accommodate us just a few days before a family get together. Staff very pleasant and food was good maybe a tad slow on occasions however...you can't have everything. My only criticism was I ordered a beef sandwich. Given that the meat was on the rack so to speak.... I had expected a hot beef sandwich... it was cold. Not ideal but all in all would still eat there and of course stay there again. Just next time...if someone orders a hot beef sandwich....it should be just that. Good luck and keep up the good work.:)

While the single room I stayed in was a little on the small side it was perfectly clean and in v good order, the food was very good and served by exceptional staff

One night stay on a golf trip. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Ate there in the evening - very good standard. Breakfast was very good as well. Stayed in a single room which was fine for 1 night but it was “compact”. However the price was very reasonable and excellent value for money.

The room I stayed in was clean. First day shower was good and hot but on the sunday morning I woke up early and went for a shower. Let it run a few mins but didn't get any hot water so had to have a cold shower. The noise from the downstairs bar was prominent but went silent at 12. Over all for the price it was good few downside but you can manage.

Traditional pub restaurant hotel type place. Kind of old building you crack your head on low ceilings going up stairs and has labyrinth of corridors to get to rooms. Rooms great, staff great no complaints.

Overnight business trip. Room clean and tidy. Ate in the bar which was good. Hotel a little tired but apart from that all good. Will use again as it’s central with parking

Just what we needed for a one night stay across Scotland, right in the heart of town and the free parking is super helpful. We ate elsewhere but the menus looked nice

Yet another essential travel overnight stay.The hotel was only open for key workers, and as such had limited services.The Bedroom was clean and well appointed, the staff were very helpful.Will certainly go back again, when hopefully Covid19 is history
