We found the attention of some members of the staff to be a little rude and to some extent, I want to highlight that not all of them were like that. The WiFi is very bad as is the television and its channels. We had to go to reception to remember to leave us things like towels or toilet paper, and finally the roof was closed to us at the time I went.

The people are nice. The room could have been better. Little hot water and the best was to hard. Also, the room could have benefit from a chair or somewhere to sit.

I am an early retired ex pat who lives out of my suitcase and travels everywhere. In all my travels I have only encountered 2 hotels that do not allow you to access your room before check in time, and this is one of them
The housekeepers apparently turn over every room in the hotel at exactly 3PM. That's when they will let you in.
I have stayed here before. My last stay was over 100 days ago. They were doing renovations which is NOT POSTED on Hotels.com. However when I got there they gave me a room upgrade.
RENOVATIONS are still going on. I was not offered an upgrade and the power tools ran from early morning to evening, even on Saturday.
I feel my room was rushed to open. My TV was not connected, there was no remote and the safe was not installed. However the staff was excellent on correcting these issues as soon as they could.
This place is guest friendly. It's in a good location. It is very clean. The AC works great. Mini fridge in the room. The channels on the TV could not be better and the free breakfast is fantastic.
Now the negatives. Renovations, no elevator, no early check in, extremely small bathroom and shower. Very thin walls. I heard my neighbors constantly.
If you book this place take the room upgrade. For the money it is well worth it. The toilet is so close to the sink you have to kinda sit sideways.
I'm not sure if I'll stay aain. I won't book the regular room and I hated being denied early check in.

I had a very nice stay at Cataleya Hotel. This was my third time staying in the hotel. The reception staff were all very nice and eager to help with anything that I asked for. My studio room was very nice and clean. The hot breakfast in the morning was very good and tasty. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to enjoy a nice and quiet hotel in the colonial zone in DR. Shout out to Gloria and all the nice staff at the reception area.

No services what so ever… The building appears to be under renovation and our room smelled as fresh cement (but there are holes in the wall). The bedroom door did not even have a knob… The room was supposed to have a queen size bed but we got a double. Very uncomfortable for two people. The next day we were moved to a room with a queen bed after I complained to Hotels.com
The room was two flights up and there is no elevator (in case people have mobility issues this is important). The stairs are not the normal type and are easy to trip.
Very noisy, not sure if we were hearing the next door neighbor’s room or house but could hear the whole conversation and hear noise of setting up the dinner table (plate and utensil noise!!).
Would not stay again or recommend.

I liked this property despite that they were doing some remodeling in the front. I’ve reserved a queen bed but was given a double bed not a big deal but the bed was hard not uncomfortable at all. It has a nice cozy kitchen which I really liked.

This is a nice hotel for the price they accommodate me and my 2 kid we stayed there for 18 days they cleaned our room every day but I think only 3 or 4 days they provided us toilet paper i had to buy my own. The kitchenette is a plus because that saved me money everything was at a walking distance there’s a grocery store a few blocks away a colmado at the corner and many dining options at a walking distance. And the internet is not the best there was a storm and we had no internet the last 3 days we stayed.
