I was so impressed with the stay at Stonewall Motor Lodge. It was clean, quiet, and all around such a cute lodging area. This is a place that my husband and I will be coming back to again and again!

We didn't know what to expect. We figured it would be between modest and rough. To our surprise, the rooms were recently renovated, the king size bed was very comfortable, the shower was wonderful, the small fridge was a cute retro, there was an "old" retro radio, & a nice TV. Wifi is available in the room. To enjoy streaming TV you get to visit the barn on the property. Beyond the barn are picnic tables, outdoor seating for groups to visit, and more. It's a quaint venue and we very much enjoyed our stay. A special shout out to Seth & Cricket, our hosts.

We love SML! Second stay and it’s convenient to the wineries we live to visit and away from all the people in Fredericksburg.

Located between Fredericksburg and Johnson City, near LBJ Ranch SP, Stonewall Motor Lodge is a delightful hidden gem! Room 7 was very clean and comfortable, with WONDERFUL attention paid to us by Tim, the manager, especially during the very bad night storm and loss of power. Very clean, happened to be an ADA king bed room, with well-built roll-in spacious shower, the floor actually keeps the water in the shower. The small room's vintage decor was fun, but also incuded high-end amenities: wonderful pillows & bed, K-cup coffee maker & creamers, AC/Heat, TV. One suitcase stand is provided (seems the standard of all similar lodgings, frustrating for those of us on long trips with 2 suitcases), but we were happy that a special frame had been built over the vintage fridge which perfectly supported one suitcase.
We enjoyed the park area behind the lodge!

It was clean, quiet, and had several cozy hangout spots to relax with coffee or chat and sip wine.

I’ve stayed here at least 4-5 times and this was the worst by far. We’ve never stayed in this specific room (#11), but the bed was very hard and the room was loud. We were right next to the ice/vending room and could hear everything all night. Additionally we could hear everything going on in the room next to us. We will not stay in this room again.

We really liked the Stonewall Motor Lodge . Very peaceful and relaxing . Excellent price . We were referred by a friend , so now we want to refer. Just remember it’s a very small town . We went to Fredericksburg for shopping and we were really tired . We came back and drank a beer on the top deck . Great checking in . Email sent me a code to check into my room . Would stay here again . Very clean

Right next to the Lyndon B Johnson parks and numerous wineries, this beautifully updated motel is worth a visit. Our room had a functional kitchen with a fridge, a spacious bathroom, and a well-working HVAC. My only complaints would be the tiny TV, extra firm bed, and slight difficulty seeing the road sign. I would love to see it lit up in neon. However, we plan to visit again.

Room small with tiny bathroom. TV could not get local channels despite asking for help, and the room had odd damp smell. This is a basic motel, it was way over priced.

We absolutely LOVED staying at stonewall. The room was so adorable, clean and in this Texas heat.. COLD! It was located perfectly between our main destination and main street in Fredericksburg. The deck up top was beautiful at night and everyone was extremely respectful. The cutest touches of antique in the room from the stereo to the mini fridge. We will absolutely be staying here again, most likely one of the beautiful cabins next time!

The room was clean and nicely appointed. However, the A/C unit was very loud (we had the fan on the lowest speed). We are both light sleepers and every time the unit came on, it woke us up.

We only needed to stay one night because it is close to family’s house. In the future we will stay here again when the family’s house is overcrowded for a special occasion. Small, but clean and quiet.

Pros: The room was large, as was the bathroom. Our room (The Press Room) had a kitchenette, which was nice. The king-size bed was comfortable. The bathroom products were also very nice and so were the bath linens. We appreciated the keyless entry so we didn't have to worry about a key. All the old pictures displayed around the room were fun to view. The location on US-290 was convenient to the wineries.
Cons: The air conditioner was incredibly loud! The television was difficult to navigate. We were unable to find local or national programming and news, but there were many cable channels showing reruns. I had to go to the lobby and have the office manager show me how to scroll the channels. There was a bar on the wall to hang clothes instead of a closet. There wasn't an iron or hairdryer, which are amenities I expect in a hotel/motel at this price point. Also, the room wasn't cleaned during our stay.
I don't recommend the Stonewall Motel Lodge.

The contactless check-in was super easy! We loved the attention to details, like the fan next to the bed (thank you for the 'white noise'), the fireside movie, and the star-gazing on the upper deck. We LOVED the throw-back feel with all the modern amenities.

Rooms are nice and super cute but there are not enough dining options nearby. Closest dining is in Johnson City or Fredericksburg 15 miles away and super crowded.

This lodge is recently refurbished with vintage/retro touches. There are great events on Saturdays at the barn and the location is unbeatable.
