Very comfortable bed, room was nicely dark and peaceful too once the live band finished about 10.45pm. Only 1 working plug socket in room 10 but we coped. We would certainly stay again.

I was unaware that the hotel did not serve breakfast. There is no member of staff in the hotel overnight. The door seemed unsafe with a semi broken lock. The toilet flush was not great and water was running throughout the night. The kettle boiled water but overflowed from the cup when placed below the nozzle.

Not so Good , very tired, condition of room, 2nd night the room next door to ours was trashed by youths we didnt sleep very well after all the noise and comotion

One night stay to attend concert in Liverpool. Check in was smooth, staff member showed me to room and showed fire exits etc, he was very polite. Room was ideal for what we needed. Clean and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and modern, shower prowerful, towels and toiletries provided. Free parking on site to the back of the pub. The area was quiet with minimum passing traffic. We didn’t drink or eat in the pub but it looked nice enough.

Clean well equipped rooms ideal for overnight stay to attend family party .

Great staff, great food, nice place

Quiet spot bedroom and bathroom clean. Food amazing it really was. Recommend. The only gripe if you could call it that is that the bedroom was too hot!!,
3.9
Staff rude

Fire alarms went off at 1.30 am hotel unmanned on a evening pretty much left to our own devices to evacuate and call the fire brigade

My wife and I Stayed one night here. The food was ok but not worth what they charge.
We were in bedroom number 1 and the room was ok but radiator was full of fluff and the wallpaper was falling off behind it.
The bed was terrible.
We got no sleep as the mattress was horrible. So hard and uncomfortable that we were so sore and backache aswell.
Not good at all.

Spacious, comfortable and clean room, comfortable bathroom (shower)
3.9
Lovely hotel and a very clean and tidy room
3.9
Car park has around 20/30 spaces which got full quick as it is a busy pub. Rooms very clean and spacious
3.9
The service was absolutely rubbish. Waited over an hour and half for food.
On my second night i couldn't get food from the pub ( had to grab a sandwich from local shops)
Didn't bother staying the third night.

We booked for 3 reasons - a quiet overnight stay, somewhere with parking and breakfast the next day.
Don't expect a quiet overnight stay if you're booking for a Saturday night - the venue itself is lovely but is near to a local housing estate. The noise levels are way too much - inside and out. People all shouting at over each other. Live music which goes on until gone 11pm. The food was delicious but our idea of a quiet meal was ruined by the group of 8-10 people who deemed it acceptable to all talk and shout over each other despite being in close proximity.
Parking isn't always available. You can park in the housing estate if you're comfortable with that. We didn't as we weren't local to the area.
No breakfast served at all despite being advertised on Hotels.com
Bedroom - cracks in the ceiling, a missing drawer within a set of drawers, tatty headboard, even a small stain found on the mattress bedsheet.
Bathroom - clean and spacious with lovely shower area but despite working perfectly the night before, the morning we were due to leave the shower itself was bearly a trickle and even stopped working whilst in the middle of a shower!
Checking out - no one around from the night before, left our key with the cleaner!
It's a lovely venue/restaurant that does really nice food but I think that's all it should be as there seems to be little attention to the upkeep of the rooms and also it's very impersonal for those that book a stay as there's no personal attention as such.

I have stayed at the Griffin on many occasions and it never disappoints me. Staff are all very friendly and cannot do enough to help you. Will be back again soon.

We were only staying 1 night but thoroughly enjoyed the stay.
The rooms are contemporary and very comfy.
The bar and all other facilities where Aldi first class and excellent value for money.
3.9
Pleasant stay was only over night as attending a concert at the rugby stadium. Didn’t use any of the other facilities but the room was fantastic.
3.9
All good. No issues
3.9
Nice food nice pub but portion size and quality of waitresses was poor
3.9
Hotel, staff and service brilliant the pub a really nice friendly atmosphere only bad thing about the stay was I had no sleep due to very noisy guests, no reflection on the hotel and pub though I was just unfortunate with the noisy neighbour
3.9
Had to go and find someone to check me in, others waiting too. No apologies for the wait. Room was tatty, strange smell, and carpet looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed. Service at the bar poor, really difficult to sit out side being a sole traveler (on business), as orders for food and drink only taken at the bar. Nearly lost my table twice!! Food okay, not sure why there is a garden menu and inside one. Although two nights I was allowed to order from the inside although I was out (great) but the third night I wasn’t allowed to do this. So the lasagne I was planning to have I couldn’t, as that’s not on the garden menu. Hygiene could have been better and menus cleaned. Makes you wonder what the kitchen is like if they give out dirty menus. Saw several orders going out wrong and people complained about the waiting time for their meals. But this didn’t happen to me.

Stayed here while attending the Neighbourhood Weekender and it was perfect for our needs. There was one small issue with the room (the shower ran cold) when we first arrived, and it was sorted completely by the time we got back in the evening.
Can’t fault the room or the staff. Clean, spacious and comfortable.

Booked this hotel based on ratings, location and price.
Staff, bar and food all great but no breakfast available contrary to the specifics times stated on their listing.
Rooms very noisy due to this being a popular pub.
Read reviews when staying as couldn't believe the high score. Seems to have a lot of perfect 10s with few comments and some very low scores. Not a lot in between.
Comments in reviews don't seem to have been taken on board from the hotel.
My room and a hole in the ceiling, holes in the wall filled and not painted, and a draw missing from the unit. Bathroom was excellent and bed comfy.

Hotel Room: Hole in wall, plaster exposed. Reading light hanging from wall. Flat pillows and uncomfortable bed. Flange on bathroom door knob off and rattling on handle. No shampoo. Door to bathroom wouldn't open fully because the floor wasn't straight - trying to open it resulted in it banging head. Fan in bathroom rattles. Vent for fan clogged with dirty dust. Dirty walls. Food: Cousin phoned in advance to pay for dinner as a birthday present. Money accepted, never announced or taken off the food bill. If we hadn't connected, we'd have never known. Sunday dinner was okay. Beef was tough. Vegetables very good. Potatoes not roasted thoroughly. Yorkshire pudding and gravy good. Sticky toffee pudding was very dry. Things happen, but it's how they are resolved that makes a difference. I left a letter for the manager and he never responded. Huge disappointment.

Room 1 - Could be ok but bathroom door handle and bedside lights hanging off the wall. Bathroom door doesn’t open (gets stuck on floor) and the drains stink. Room smells like it’s had animals staying in it.
3.9
Disgusting. The room had drawers missing from the unit, the bedhead was falling apart and there was a hole in the ceiling !
Plus we had a band playing until midnight what seemed right under our room.
AND clearly no option for breakfast.
The term "hotel" should not apply to this establishment
3.9
No breakfast facilities no toiletries in bathroom

Very clean , plenty of parking lovely staff

I was pleasantly suprised by the hotel. It was clean and has an extensive outdoor options such as restaurant/ bar/play areas. The bar area inside was vibrant and had multiple screens showing sport.
3.9
The room was very clean. We had dinner, the food & service was very good! Lovely vibe!
3.9
A brief, one-night stay (arriving late and departing promptly the next morning). Friendly efficient staff, clean and spacious room. We knew breakfast was not yet running, but it would be good for that to happen for future guests to have as an option - looks like a nice space and shame we didn't have time for a drink or evening meal there. Thanks to the team at the hotel.
3.9
The staff were cool when it came to having a trans woman customer and the clientele were nice. It is a posh middle class establishment so lots of nice people.

Could not be faulted
