The hotel does the basics right...service, comfort, location. All in an early 20th century venue that has been kept up to date while retaining its charm.

This is a great old hotel with friendly staff and a great bar. Rooms are good. The pipes are old and when it is cold very noisy at 6:30 am. I would still come back but would ask about the pipe noise.

Hotel Leo is conveniently located in downtown Bellingham, and we could walk to the theater and great restaurants.

We had a very good visit, and were impressed by the hotel's location and staff. The complimentary upgrade was much appreciated. One thing to note: the suite was very cool in the late afternoon and all night. At 6 am the radiators came on quite noisily... The desk staff was very friendly and knowledgeable - great recommendation for a breakfast place nearby.

Cute hotel older shows every bit of that which is fine including the old hotel smell. Unfortunately our room was super musty smelling and for some reason the window was stuck shut the front desk was unable to get it open the best they could offer was a fan which did nothing but blow the air in the room around. Really wish they could have switched us to a room with a working window but that was not an option. This flared up my allergies really bad I woke up in the morning and could not breathe through my nose luckily it cleared up within an hour of leaving. Great atmosphere friendly staff just checked to make sure your window works.

Love the historic vibe if the hotel. Our stay was fantastic.

Perfect location in the heart of downtown Bellingham. Old-world charm, great bar.

This hotel was great! Staff were amazingly friendly and help! The only issue was the A/c unit in our room did not get cold and was mostly just a fan

The staff is great, but the room was not a good fit for me. The bed is about 12 inches off the floor, the lights have no shades on them and are blindingly bright. The window didnt shut completely, the bathtub drain was clogged, and there was nothing to sit on other than the bed. The location is excellent, the vibe is good, the staff is excellent, and the orice was right, but ill never book here again.

The staff is friendly, responsive and helpful. The location is right in the middle of downtown and convenient to everything we wanted to explore. It’s a good spot to stay for a few nights.

This is a nice historic property in a great location. It has a very friendly and helpful staff and a nice bar. What drags my rating down is mainly the bed. It was a mattress on a platform with no box spring. As a result, it is low and incredibly hard for us older folks to get in and out of. The furniture in the room looked old and the couch was just dirty looking. The room was huge (two room suite), but no storage. The shower was good, but no grab bar. I would not stay here again unless I was assured they had replaced the bed with a more conventional option.

Hotel Leo is located in the center of downtown, nice touristic area. But the area becomes unsafe, getting worse every year.
I see hotel is serious about it and there’s safe inside

This hotel is an unexpected gem in the heart of Bellingham. It’s nondescript from the outside - we would have walked right past it. It’s within walking distance to dozens of restaurants and shops, and the included parking means we never had to use our car. The hotel itself is very old with a lot of history, but has been extensively renovated and modernized. Staff are very friendly, easygoing and helpful. If you’re staying in Bellingham, this is the place to stay.

Had a great stay at the hotel Leo in downtown Bellingham. This is a historic hotel that has had some modernization but still shows its historic architecture and charm. A great base to explore the area.

Nice to have the option of a suite with a kitchen and separate bedroom. However, there was no elevator to the first floor of suites so we had to carry everything up stairs. Not a big deal, but not ideal.

Excellent location, rooms are quiet and clean.Bed was very soft, some people probably like that though!

There are inherent challenges due to being an older historic building that the hotel has no control over, but they work hard to make up for the slight drawbacks by friendly staff and quirky ambiance. Can’t beat the location, easy parking (which is rare downtown), and how dog-friendly it is!

Very cool little hotel right downtown. Fun little speakeasy bar inside. Our room had everything we needed, comfy bed, my only complaint would be we had to drag luggage upstairs. Luckily it was just one flight. Easy parking in their garage. Great location

Overall a great hotel with many amenities and in great location!

Nice to see the old historic parts of the building and that it is significantly different than modern hotels. A lot of fun. Also felt good about being able to leave our car in covered and lighted area and that there was security around.
Thank you

The rooms are very quiet and clean. The restaurants in the area are very good and most are accommodating to vegan people. Great location.

Hotel Leo is in a good walkable location but food is more barefoot then fine food

The location and staff are amazing. All of my interactions with front desk, support, and the servers at A21 stand out as some of the better I've had across all hotel star levels.
Exceptionally, they happily moved me to a room with AC and quieter neighbors during an unbearable night in one of the older units.
That being said - the rates for rooms, even well in advance, are quite ridiculous. The value is still just, simply put, not there. They absolutely price gouge. Beware. Housekeeping/facilities could be more thorough (still very clean, just that suite items like soap aren't often restocked or checked for issues). Book Hotel Leo well in advance... You might get a good deal comparatively. I really wish they'd step up their room game a bit - then I would really have no qualms about the pricing. Willing to pay. Wanting to pay... But not getting an the same amount of service one excepts for Fairmont prices in Bellingham.
I love the area - it's right in the center of town. Everything downtown is walkable, and the hotel sits two blocks away from the railroad trail to Fairhaven. Unfortunately, some may find the area not to their liking... People forget Bellingham is now a real city. There's going to be dirt and people of all walks of life. Regardless, I find it to be safe, well lit, and have no prior history of issues.

An excellent hotel, well-located in central Bellingham.

Very dated with old glamour feel, but limited in amenities and space. The bathroom’s are tiny and it seems like they used to be apartments forever ago. Staff is friendly.
2.0 / 10.0
This is a confusing space: its attempt to be techno-elegant, just comes off ... unfinished. Like, why is there a vast empty space for 50% of the room with a router sitting in the middle of the floor? Why are there so few outlets? Why does the bathroom fan roar at 70 decibels? Why is there no freezer in the fridge? Why is someone else's trash under my sink? All the odd architectural cutouts could have been helpful if they had shelves rather than just empty holes. I feel like this room is some half-completed movie set for an unclear science fiction movie.

So nice to be easy walking distance from anything you could want. Amazing historic building but room was very modern. Secure bike storage a big plus as well. Loved it!!!

Big suite, full kitchen, clean room. Beds are not great though. Very soft and kind of feel like an air mattress. If the beds were nice this place would be great. Perfect location.

Paid for a suite, was told there is no elevator to the 1st floor, wait 1st floor has stairs to get to? Had to take our bags up like 15 stairs, a landing, 5 more stairs, and then we had the furthest room at the end of the hall, my hubby recently had ankle surgery so this was not easy or convenient. We made sure we were okay with an out of state handicap placard for the car and she saw his cane and she but offered nothing to make our stay easier on him. She was not friendly during check in but did tell us to check out early on Sunday as a parade would block us in if we had not left by 10 and our car would be stuck until after 1:00pm. Again, not super helpful. Room had hot plate but no pans, ac had to run at 64 or room smelled musty, bed sheets slipped off while sleeping each night ( no matter how tight we pulled them on). The wedding we went up to Bellingham was amazing and wonderful would not want to stay here again.

Kitchen could be better stocked: utensils, dish towels, dish soap.
No coffee table, rugs, or art.
No recycle bin.
Door lock difficult.
Nice surprise that we had the best view of the fireworks.

Staff were great, walked to a local brewery for dinner, the room was huge but was a little dated. There was very little furniture in it.
10.0 / 10.0
I consider this property slightly untraditional with it's variety of rooms and spaces. There's cool shared spaces like the downstairs lobby area and pool table room (unless it's being used for a private party). We've never done any of the add-ons like the movie room. What we love is the location. Close to all things downtowns, lots of cute shops and restaurants.
6.0 / 10.0
The deluxe suite is spacious, but spartan. The room needed some additional service. The bed is slightly uncomfortable. A few conveniently located outlets didn't work. The kitchenette does not have a coffee maker.

Door key was fiddly to open the door.

Nice hotel downtown. Parking was tight and not many spaces available if you left after check in and came back in the evening. Paid for a room with a kitchenette, but no pots or pans were provided to cook with— seemed silly. Overall, nice stay though and affordable!
