At first sight Mellow Moon looks like a standard Motel but nothing could be further from the truth. Our room was really comfortable, spacious and stylishly decorated with everything we could ask for. The owner was very welcoming and gave us some great steers for eating out and sightseeing.Highly recommended.

There is minimal privacy and security at this property. Anyone walking y can look in your window and the door doesn’t automatically lock behind you when you leave. There is also no main light, so the room is especially dark if you pull down the blinds for privacy. The sheets were falling apart at the hems. The towels and comforter were stained likely from washing colors and whites. I really wanted to like this place, but as a single woman traveling alone, I was uncomfortable.

We normally stay with friends in our visit to Del Norte, however plans had changed and I had always driven past Mellow Moon and was excited to book a stay here for a few days. We were expectedly happy with the decor, cleanliness and hospitality. Lauren was incredibly helpful and attentive which you don’t get at most places. The room provided everything we needed and right in town a walk away from local eateries, coffee shops and lite shopping. A hike or scenic drive is a short distance away. The beds were so comfy and we appreciate the eco friendly options available. Please do yourself a favor and book a stay here and check out the gift shop area. Thanks MellonMoon!

What a great surprise to find this gem! Historic, Route-66 feel with chic design touches, tucked into a charming little mountain town. Great experience and perfect stop on our way to a wedding in Durango. Highly recommend!

Nice owners. Cute room with high quality linens and mattress. Modern decor. Very dirty room - found previous guest contact lens and floor under bed and cabinets were filthy where I found a used tissue, dead bugs and tons of dirt and dust....looked like these areas had not been cleaned in weeks/months. Also stained comforter either coffee or body fluids.

We were passing through on a road trip from Texas to Colorado. Perfect stop in DelNorte for the night. Room was clean; beds were very comfortable; and decor was great. Large TV for a Ted Lasso marathon finished off our night. Don’t skip the in-room coffee and creamer; very delicious! The owner has thoughtfully curated all the special touches and it shows! Very nostalgic as well!

We absolutely loved the Mellow Moon! We stopped by Del Norte after going to the Great Sand Dunes. This place is a gem, very clean, smelled like a spa, great vibe. Just a short drive from the Rio Grande. Would highly recommend!

This property is so awesome, and in today's world of hotel/motels it is truly unique. It has the feel of a motel I would have stayed in growing up as a child, with a absolutely awesome modernization. It fit our needs so well, and the owners/manager were so easy to contact, ask questions and get information from. It is a unique experience and I am so glad I found this place for our family to stay for a couple nights. Would definitely recommend if you're passing through the Alamosa area!

What a great little gem of a hotel. First of all, Lauren could not be any nicer and easier to work with. This place has "hip" vibe, and lots of great extras and details. The amenities room is great, we loved our chilled bottle of water waiting in the fridge, the robes, the products in the bathroom were nice and smelled amazing. The keyless entry was nice especially because we arrived at night. The only bummer was that the cute little camper with coffee and burritos etc., didn't open a little earlier for a weekend. We would have loved to partake but had to hit the road around 7:30 a.m.
