Great pub and loved the room look… bed needs to be replaced … springs poking through made it tough to sleep

Booked the honeymoon suite! Was a huge big room with lovely views to the sea and mountains

Well, where to start?
First of all, it's not made clear that this is actually run by Avoca, and it's not clear that you have to go in to the pub next door to get the keys to the room.
Worked that out by accident rather than design anyway, and got the keys to Room 4.
Upon entering it was very clear that the room had either not been cleaned at all, or was cleaned very poorly.
The first impression was that maybe somebody had just finished using it, to be honest.
I had paid for a superior double:
There were remnants of a "white substance" on the couch, a partially used blister packet of tablets on the bedside locker. Upon checking the bed after seeing that, the sheets were a little stained, (as was the carpet actually, and there were a few short curly hairs on the bedsheet.
Also very bad pealing of the wall, presumably due to damp, at the window.
I returned to the pub and requested a change of room. The staff member obliged with a change of room and we were given No 6.
Not the superior room that was originally booked, only a standard double, but no partial refund was offered. I was actually told the room was the same price.
On first inspection the room was at least clean so we accepted it. It was nearly 9pm so we weren't going to start looking elsewhere at that time.
(Noticed the cobwebs in the ceiling lampshade later on!)
On a positive note, they were very obliging to us with regards to parking our bikes securely out the back, for which we were very grateful.

An incredible location, free parking beside property. We went for the superior option and it was so worth it
Next door is a lovely themed Irish pub same proprietor, excellent service and friendly staff. While there on a weekend they had live music on the Saturday night and being next door was perfect. So accessible directly opposite the beach with lovely views. Thank You.

Brilliant stay . Even got my hole ...

Breakfast not included and not available. We did find a good breakfast in nikis cafe on the same street but were left to find this and pay for breakfast. Not impressed

Old and dated window in bathroom didnt close ,when you used the toilet i thought the tide was coming in , handle fell of the shower, paint peeling of the walls and socket beside the bed was loose pillows where soft and flat and overall such a calamity it was funny and door handle fell off on entry 😄 but lucky only one nite

Room was very cold and the mattress had a big dip in one side. Could do with replacing. Room was clean but don’t think it was worth £120 for room only.

For a one nights stay it was fine , house was beautiful
3.6
Poor ground floor room. Basic furniture dated. No personal contact. We had a view of bins in the back yard with waste cardboard. Noise from next door pub on Saturday night outdoor smoke area backed on to my room
When we did get to sleep we were woken by severe domestic row above us on first floor
Will Never stay in Or recommend Little Have.

Cold dirty noisy unbelievably that hotels .com actually advertise and sell this hotel it is literally beside a bar and nightclub and unable to sleep with the noise late at night room was full of old damaged furniture and damp up the walls

I liked the property, I would stay again but I booked and paid for this two night stay four weeks in advance, when I went to collect the keys from the pub next door the barman said I owed another £70.He showed me no printout or proof that I owed this. I refused to pay. He asked me how much I paid and then just handed me the keys. I found this a very embarrassing conversation in a public bar. If I do return I will print out my email proving I paid..

Great location, great for short stay, friendly staff

The room was damp. Plaster falling off wall behind paper, no hot water in sink or shower, tepid just about, windows very drafty, I thought the window was opened but it wasn’t,very big space under the door into the room, paint looked terrible on all woodwork, this place needs a good overhaul! Also I thought B&b meant bed and breakfast, not so here, no breakfast, and keys had to be collected in pub next door, but no notice up anywhere to tell you this, first and LAST stay in this place!

Location was perfect for us; close to the Granite Trail, breakfast in a restaurant two doors away was excellent, restaurant for evening meal within a block was delicious and both meals were reasonably priced. The beds were too soft but otherwise the room was very comfortable. The bathroom is nicely renovated.

Good room clean and comfortable

Guesthouse was in great loaction of town and walk up donard. Nice view. However the right side of the bed half way down had a dip. So made the sleep very uncomfortable for my partner. The room wasn't soundproofed, walls were very thin could hear people outside and from the other rooms. TV was good. You get tea coffee suger milk and towels. Wasn't worth £120.

Good location friendly staff... heating wasnt on 1st.night and windows dont fully close very cold heating on 2nd night but heaters bearly heated

Great location, free parking. Room was clean but quite dated, tv remote didn’t work, when I told bartender next door who seems to be in charge of hotel, he pretended to change batteries but didn’t actually.

It was a good experience. Any problems that we encountered was solved quickly. The staff and owners were very friendly and accommodating. The wifi was a problem, it wasn't the best.

When we arrived at The Haven there was a slight problem due to our room being overbooked. An exceptionally nice man, named Niall, relocated us to “The Views”apartment on the main promenade. Niall was so helpful & apologetic for the confusion caused, offering us free breakfast or lunch etc. “The Views”apartment(10 bed one) was just awesome, with fabulous views of the beach & Slieve Donard.

The property was lovely (warm & comfortable), central and very handy as we had the seaweed baths booked on the Saturday and it was only a couple of minutes walk away. The staff in McHugh's, were you pick up the keys, were helpful, friendly and very welcoming, particularly a young man called Matthew. The whole experience was lovely & we had a great weekend. I would highly recommend this establishment.
