It was a wonderful experience and everyone cared about making your experience a positive one.

We booked a room but when we got there no one was there to check us in. I called a number and it was a service that told us how to “self check in” and they would have the inn keeper contact us. We went to our room and the light switch didn’t work and there were dead insects in the window and the bed was very hard. We didn’t bring our things in but instead went for dinner and came back a couple of hours later no one was in the inn at all. The place was empty. No one had called us. So we decided we would not stay. The exterior of the inn looked unkept with many weeds and some trash. The inside looked looked much better other than what we saw in our room.

We spent three nights at the Willard Rchards Inn this week. We had a wonderful experience! This inn is a part of historic Nauvoo. We loved our room and the detached bathroom. ( It added to the ambiance.) The breakfasts were amazing every morning. The innkeeper did a wonderful job and shared with us the special history of the home. She did lots of little things for us to make our stay even better.

We loved our stay at the Willard Richards Inn. This was the perfect place to stay because so much was walkable in Old Nauvoo. Not only was the Inn historic the breakfasts were wonderful as was the innkeeper. There aren’t a lot of food options in Nauvoo but that huge breakfast held us until dinner! Also- we appreciated the complimentary sodas and waters.
We will definitely book here again on our next stay.

The Inn was just what we were looking for. It was a historical home with lots of character. We loved gathering with the rest of our party in the parlor and loved the homemade breakfast each morning.
The only draw backs were the stairs because we don't do stairs we'll. And not having the bathroom attached to the room.

Inside the Inn was fine. We felt that being a historical place, the owner would have kept the site in good repair. It was in great need of repainting to the columns on the porch, shutters, door entries etc. There were SO many dead bugs, flies & cobwebs on the windows, doors & bbq grill, you hated to touch the door knob to let yourself in.
Inside, it had been nicely redone with period appropriate furnishings & artifacts. Our room was nice & clean. However, the mattress was in great need of being replaced as it felt as old as the Inn itself.
Our hostess was very kind & sweet.
For the fees they charge each guest, the owner of the property needs to take some pride in this beautiful property & clean it up & fix it up to what it’s deserving of.

The main room was great. Our room was hot. The carpet was dirty. We did not receive the towels we needed until 10:30 pm. A clean bath mate was needed. This property could be so great with a little TLC.

Once inside this cute home, you are taken back in time. Historical facts and other stories fill the walls and bookcases. The inside of the home is clean. Our bed was very comfortable and our breakfasts were delicious. (But at night, the rooms upstairs are very cold/freezing.)
One of the highlights of the home as listed on their site, talks about sitting and relaxing on the back patio. But the outside of the home is a mess and needs some love and care. Webs, bugs, unswept patios, dead flowers in flower pots, and a patio bbq that is dirty and covered with spider webs. Even when driving down White Street and looking at the front door and windows - you can see them covered with webs and bugs. Although the inside of the home is nice, the impression from the outside appears like the home is not taken care of.

The property itself was such a great piece of history! There were placards describing the artifacts that were all over the Inn. We spent hours just exploring the home itself. The location is central and fabulous. The hosts were wonderful to get us anything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!
