Property is older but very clean and staff is friendly. Restaurant and dock bar has excellent food and Lenny the bartender is fabulous. Gorgeous coral reef right off the dock.

Basic Hotel, at waters edge with Bar and largte deck oveer water. Staff friendly.
Basic rooms, but clean with hot water ( Not always a given on island loations )
Dive Center Manager ( Jorge ) top notch, attentive and helpful above and below the water.
1 mile from center of small village, used Tuk Tuk to go everywhere for $2 per trip, much cheaper than renting a scooter for $35 per day.
Best restaurant is Mango Tango, easily, with quite tasty gourmet food.

We knew this would not be a 5 star resort, the pictures that other travelers have posted are accurate. Everyone who worked there were extremely friendly and helpful, they cared about the service they provided. The hotel owners should think about updating the rooms one by one over time as the bathroom needed tons of help, from the leaking shower to missing tiles. The beds and pillows were not supportive and I actually felt like I was sleeping on a water bed. The pool was operational as was the bar. There was one set of steps into the water that was damaged and not usable. The benefit of the location is that the resort doesn't have a lot of traffic as it is at the end of the road.

We checked out the rest of the island. This is the best spot! Clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Great dining room menu, awesome beach bar and the most amazing snorkelling right off the beach bar steps!

This was a great property , and this is our second time visiting. It was clean and nice and the staff was amazing. The food was incredible and the price was ridiculously inexpensive for what we received. Everyday, we are snorkeling right outside the bar. And it is some of the most amazing snorkeling in the world. It's like you are swimming in an aquarium.

Very friendly good exposure clean if light bother you the curtains don’t block light need a shade or better curtains and a little away from the center to walk where the action is

The snorkeling from the property is really nice While we were there the pools were receiving repair work and not usable

the hotel was a decent stay. service was great. I dont think the rooms have tvs, but i thought that was ok too since we did a lot of exploring. Room cleaning service was on point. I met the owner personally the next day as he lives on the property. The restaurant has decent food mostly typical food. Overall the stay was definitely worth for its price. Enjoyed Utila very much, a gem of an island inits own. Hands down Utila!

Management and staff were absolutely wonderful. Very helpful and attentive. Any requests I had were met with positive results and smiling faces. The facilities were very nice, in the location. Very peaceful. One night there was a bit of a power outage due to a storm on the island. The staff reacted immediately, and was moments, the on-site generator was working and all returned to normal. The resort is a mile or so outside of the center of town. It’s actually a very nice walk. If you choose to take a tuktuk it is only about two dollars and the staff can call for one. never had a wait more than two or three minutes. I did one day of diving at the resort and once again, the staff of the dive shop were extremely helpful. The water was a bit rough so visibility wasn’t quite perfect but the divemaster and captain still found some good sites.

Peaceful. Cool bar at end of the dock, near the swimming pools. Steps into the sea. Clean. Everyone was helpful and nice.

Great property & staff! The rooms were clean and with AC. The bar with the view was excellent! The staff was so sweet and kind when our daughter got sick, they tried to help in any way possible! 10/10 recommend and will be staying there when I come back

Rooms were shabby and noisy

Quiet location away from the noise and crowds. The dock and the sea, particularly the snorkeling in the reef in front are reasons to stay here. The staff, except for the bartenders in the beach bar, could all use an overhaul though.

Betyer phone service. Better access to the downtown area, without waiting for a tuk.

The reef in front of hotel has easy access. The friendly staff are very anxious to please and accommodate guests. The food was good. Portions were large. Perhaps a little noisy early in the morning, but overall the hotel gave good value for the money.

It was clean, reasonable rates, very friendly staff, beautiful location on the beach. Dining experience was superb. Provided transportation. From the ferry. Nice stay

Nice good hotel and front desk offered a room with ocean view per requested which is really nice to see both sunrise and sunset..good breakfast and free refill water.. Hotel location perfect for snorkel right off their bar..nice guy that works there and did great job with mixed drinks. Not so much with diving bcs not enough customers signed up there bcs the hotel is far from town so need to get tuk tuk in and out..highly recommended for all people that love snorkel ..saw lot of fish and sea cucumber..also one evening saw a school of dolphin swam right in front while eating a dinner there from the bar..plus local pelicans hanging out there everyday.

I loved the ease of access to go scuba diving as well as the food. The hotel was nice and the rooms clean, the staff was friendly and helpful. I really liked that I could charge to my room, it made going swimming and drinking easy and I didn't have to bring cash on me!

I have travelled to many countries and have stayed at all types of places, but have never been treated so poorly anywhere. My 8 family members and I stayed here for 3 nights
-No tuk tuks available from the ferry station to the hotel, so we had to walk 2.2km in the pouring rain with our luggage. I had just spoken to the staff a few weeks prior to organize transportation, but there was no mention that the Tuk Tuks would be unavailable or limited due to it being the last day of a festival
-Hotel restaurant was not available to us because of the 150 diving students. We got conflicting answers from 4 different staff about whether or not we could eat at the restaurant. Even outside of the students allotted mealtimes, we were turned away repeatedly. Other restaurants were far away from the hotel, and some were even low on food or closed because of the festival. We had 3 children, so not having access to the hotel food was distressing
-There were clear animosities between staff members and poor communication. The front desk staff called one kitchen staff a “liar” (among other profanities) when we asked if we could eat at the restaurant. The kitchen lead stated that he told the owner not to rent out the other hotel rooms since he could not keep up with feeding the students
-Our room reeked of mold/mildew, no one came to clean, tiles were missing from the bathroom floor, there was mold in our sink, there were safety pins and debris on the bathroom floor, walls were paper thin

This was the worst place I have ever stayed. To start, the hotel said they arranged a ride for our group to the hotel. The ride never showed up and we walked to the hotel from ferry in the rain. We could have dealt with that but when we got to the hotel there was a huge group of highschool students on a diving trip for 6 weeks with there clothes all over. We could have dealt with that but when we went into the restaurant to order food, the girl literally said no. The next morning we went to get the continental breakfast they said was provided and met a ton of resistance. When we asked for coffee they said it was all gone, while kids from the diving group would be handed whatever they wanted. When we talked to one member of the staff the would blame the other members of the staff telling us they were told not to allow us to order food. We spent our first day of the trip trying to find a way to feed our group. It was miserable. I would never recommend that place!!! I have never dealt with a staff so rude and would never go back! SAVE YOUR MONEY

We had a blast diving and enjoyed my stay at Coral View. The staff was super nice and helpful. The restaurant was so good and reasonably priced. I decided to extend my stay longer and not go back to Roatan because everything on Utila was less expensive and a more fun laid back vibe.

The room was ok, staff very nice, but I was booked to do 10 days of diving. Their 2 larger boats were out of comission so there was just a small speed boat. I only got 3 days of diving and the boat went down. I also got hurt because of the boat captain forgetting the ladder.1

Good vibe and location, nice place to disconnect from the strip. Was a sewer smell walking in and out of lobby fairly often.

We loved that we could snorkel right in front of the property. We weren’t crazy about the two double beds.

Hotel has a wonderful location, great service and very helpful and friendly staff, the biggest and really only issue I had was the bed was pretty flimsy and there are absolutely no places to hang any clothes. Other than thst, great place.

My stay here was great! They have a new restaurant, Shell Del Mar, that just opened and was the best food I had on the island. The rooms are nice, some more spacious than others. My friend stayed in room 107 which was a bit bigger than the other 1 bed I was in, but mine was still more than enough for me and my boyfriend. I really loved the long pool by the bar that their owner told me is called "The Drinking Pool" because it has a long bench thing sit on and is, well, next to the bar.
Amazing snorkeling, which was included with our room for free. Most of the rooms don't have TVs, but why do you need a TV when you have an ipad and an amazing view at your window?

This hotel had a great staff and friendly owner. We really liked the location, the really long pool (he has two, but the absolutely HUGE one was being fixed. There was a great two level dock/bar, which we would have liked to use more except for the really LOUD obnoxious misogeny Rap. You couldnt talk or NOT hear it, so maybe reconsider what you want to put out to your female guests; there is plenty of decent rap out there if thats what you want. After 2 nts of this, we were forced to flee to Blue Bayou for our drinks, where you could talk and meet people. The food was fine, and service very good. We really enjoyed the friendly owner. But he needs help putting some basic warmth and ambiance into the rooms, which are stark white walls with no decor of any type, not a single picture on the blank walls. There is not a single hook or bar to hang your towel in the bathroom or anywhere else. You cant hang it on the shower bar, because the pressure rod cant take the weight of a towel and just collapses to the floor. We actually had to lay our towels across one of the 2 beds to dry, it was that or the floor. Hooks in the shower wall (in the wooden band that rings it) for wet suits, etc, would be so useful, and a few outside the shower, even in the door or door frame, for towels. Such a cheap and easy fix, and it all affects comfort. A simple chair would have been nice, also, for a $100 room. Even plastic ones, anything. These fixes are cheap. Just warm it up a bit!

The (incredible) snorkeling here made up for other very minor issues. I don’t think you can go to this island and expect the Ritz. But there were a few things I had really wished were different. The room smelled (a little like cat urine… but just faintly and you got used to the smell after being in the room for a while… I noticed the smell… my husband didn’t), but the shower was hot and powerful. The sink just didn’t look clean, although it probably was. Outside our room smelled off (for lack of a better way of describing it). The location was pretty terrific. Taking the ferry to Neptunes was super easy as the hotel was right near the dock for that. And service was incredible! Overall I’d say book this place. Just don’t expect too much.

Amazing view of sunset, great food and snorkeling. Hotel is undergoing renovations so it is a work in progress. It’s away from all the hustle and bustle of main Utila so quiet and laid back. Free breakfast is also good.
