WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loved the property it’s really beautiful our room was perfect. We had a plunge pool in the patio so it was perfect. We truly enjoyed our one night stay wish I would have booked for longer. The service at the restaurant was really nice. The server was really attentive and friendly. We did see a tarantula and snake but it’s part of the jungle. They did remove the tarantula that was on the stairs. It’s a gorgeous hacienda and not far from the city. Highly recommended this place it’s worth visiting. It’s really clean and the experience of the jungle is very nice.

We had the privilege of staying at this hotel, but unfortunately, we were only able to stay for one night. If we had had more time, we would have stayed at least a week. The property is truly breathtaking, a real haven of beauty and serenity. Every detail is meticulously cared for with rare perfection, and the atmosphere is simply enchanting. The staff is also amazing, attentive, and exceptionally kind, making our stay absolutely unforgettable. I sincerely hope to return and extend this memorable experience. A big thank you to Anette for her exceptional service.

If you’re considering it, just book it. This place is wonderful.
We booked a trip to Mérida to explore the sights and to consider it as an expat community. Unfortunately, we did less exploring than planned because the hotel, staff and grounds are perfect.
The restaurant, Casa de Piedra, is nice. They have great lattes and cappuccinos, regional cuisine (try the huitlacoche crepes and the poc chuc), and some tasty Italian/seafood dishes.
We spent most of our days in the Olympic-sized swimming pool and the surrounding cabanas. Leslie at the Lol-Ha bar made sure we had everything we needed from towels, to margaritas, to suggestions of off-site activities. Our room had its own private plunge pool and patio, which was also an excellent way to unwind.
The grounds are meticulously maintained and make you feel as though you’re in the tropics. If you walk the paths, you may just see a tamandua (cute anteater) in the trees.
We were warned of construction noise before arrival. I was worried. Honestly, it was negligible.
All staff were helpful and friendly. We did not cross paths with anyone without a hello and good morning, etc. We do not speak Spanish and it was no problem whatsoever. Everyone was more than accommodating. Antonio, Elias, Leslie, Miguel, Tony, and both Victors really went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
The worst part was leaving. I would not hesitate to stay at Hacienda Xcanatun in the future. Again, if you’re considering it, book it.

As soon as we arrived at the property I arrived with my two friends and the manager Annette checked us in and did not mention that I had booked only 1 adult and it would be extra charge for my other two friends to stay. The guy that helped us with our luggage to the room was very nice and drove us with our bags to our room. He explained how to work the lights and described all the extras in the room. Later that evening we kept hearing a clicking sound like a swinging hammock. The concierge came to the room and realized it was the lamps and was able to fix them from swinging. The next day I arrived at the pool at 3:00 and went to order a drink I wanted a spicy mocktail and he said he didn’t not have anything spicy available. So I ordered a daiquiri and he mentioned that the pool service would be closing at 5 even thought they are supposed to be open until 8, while at the pool I decided to walk to the spa before the closed around 3:30 to see about making a spa appointment. On the way the bartender chased me down to sign my tab even though I was coming back. When I arrived at the spa the said they didn’t have anything available and would be closing the following day due to the hurricane that was not supposed to hit until the day after. I went back to the pool at 4:50 and it looked like they were closing the bar up but, about 1 hour later another couple came and the bartender was bring them drinks after 5. The rooms are hot you can’t put the air lower than 24C the front desk

This is a beautiful property and although we received an upgrade, we liked our original room better since it was an original Hacienda style room

We don’t usually complain but considering the cost of this place and the fact that it’s supposed to be a luxury hotel I have to explain. Firstly the staff are excellent and very attentive and the rooms are beautiful. The main pool is very nice but the sun bed covers are really dirty, the second pool is very dirty and not even usable. We were seated indoors next to a “window” for dinner but it was just a curtain covering while construction workers worked with machinery right next to our table, it was very noisy and strange, and it was also Sunday. We ordered the guacamole, caprese salad and NY steak tacos and everything was overly salty. The tacos were full of grizzle and fat and we had a hard time finding any meat in them. We finally decided to make a comment about this one thing and they did take it off the bill. I was also eaten by mosquitoes the whole way through dinner, maybe because of the curtain instead of a window because of construction, but when I asked the front desk for mosquito repellent they sent us down the street to a store. We’ve stayed in many luxury and 5 star hotels and this just doesn’t make the cut considering the prices they charge, you just don’t get the experience. In our opinion it’s way overpriced and the food is not great at all.

Stayed here for 4 nights with two young children. The governor suite was fantastic. The service, especially from the doormen was exceptional. Breakfast was good, although we felt the food for dinner was not to our taste.
The swimming pool area was exceptional.
Overall, a place that I would highly recommend.

Fabulously fantastic place to stay. From start to finish the entire experience was impeccable. I particularly enjoyed the Olympic length pool, the outdoor patio (complete with hammock) and the additional outdoor shower in the room. The grounds are paradise-esque, with quaint creatures to admire at ground level and in the skies . The dining options were also sublime. It is 30 mins drive from the main Merida square, however it is a beautiful oasis tucked away from the hustle and bustle. Worth visiting to admire the grounds of the Hacienda, even if just for a day trip.

Very beautiful property, we stayed in a suite and it was spacious and beautifully decorated with attention to every detail, the staff was knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. The location wasn’t the best but it’s a 20-30 min cab ride from Merida which is a city most definitely worth visiting, I look forward to going back.

Service was outstanding, the rooms were clean and comfortable, food was great. Sadly my one major objection is the flies at the pool bar and outdoor restaurants. In a number of occasions we had them fall in our drinks (a total waste) The number of flies can turn the most tolerant person off.
I’d love to go back if it wasn’t because of the flies.

Hacienda Xcanatún is a “Hidden gem”. Located at the outskirts of Merida, is an easy drive to paseo Montejo (15 minutes) or to Progreso ( 15 minutes). The rooms are spacious and the service incredible. Very good restaurant.
The only negative: the streets leading to the area are not well maintained. Some houses need help with painting / restoration. I am aware the Xcanatún foundation is trying to help. Hopefully the surrounding neighborhood can benefit from tourism as well.
