I would not say the Ventura Grand Inn was "Grand" however it was comfortable and pleasant. Our room was clean and the location is convenient. The breakfast is very minimal but adequate. We would stay again.

AVOID- disgustingly dirty with rude manager. Our room had what looked like blood splatters on the wall, and the bed sheets and towels had stains and hairs on them. We went for a shower as we had had a very long day, but found that the bath also had hairs in and someone else's used bar of soap. The towels also had yellow stains on them. We took pictures of all this before showering, then showed these to the manager to ask if we could move rooms. She was very rude, claiming that what looked like blood splatters were part of the 'paint' of the room and said she will begin our check out process if we are not happy with the room, but that she can not refund us as we had been there longer than 20 minutes and used the facilities (it was around 35 minutes after check in when we went to complain). She showed us a word document on her computer which stated the 20 minute 'policy', but we were not made aware of this at the time of booking through Expedia and she did not make us aware of this on check in. We asked that if it is not possible to refund us or move rooms, then could the room be cleaned. She said that new towels and bedding could be provided, but refused to clean the splatter off the walls. We asked why not and at this point, she told us that we were "checking out" and begun speaking on the phone to someone in another language. We checked and there was nowhere else to stay in the vicinity, so panicked, we agreed to just the towels and bedding so we could keep the room and not

For the AWESOME location, the price of our room was fantastic and surprisingly inexpensive, despite the huge Beer & Bluesaplooza fest going on down the street (we attended Saturday). Please take the negative reviews with a grain of salt (or however that idiom goes). It's not a luxury hotel. It's a motel. The room in which we stayed was clean and comfortable: No bedbugs, a refrigerator that keeps food & drink cold, working plumbing & AC, etc. Sure, it's not perfect. Maybe it needs some paint touchups on the baseboards, a less rusty shower curtain rod, a more secure backup door lock (it's a chain)... but everything one needs is provided and it all works just fine. It's located in a very walkable neighborhood with good food nearby. Absolutely NO COMPLAINTS! We plan to return in the winter for snowshoeing and biking, and will stay at the Ventura Grand Inn again!

Really large room. No breakfast but wasnt really expecting any. Beds were fine but very squeeky every movement created a noisy rattling etc. Everything else was fine. A bit tired but that is sort of due to it being a winter ski resort.

The room was large, clean and had a comfortable bed. The bathroom, however, looked like a do-it-yourself project gone bad. It was clean, though. The parking lot is quite torn up. The property is fine for a one night, lower cost option for Mammoth.

The hotel is in a great location within walking close to everywhere apart from the mountain activities. Super friendly and helpful staff. It’s obviously an older building but fairly well kept up. It’s primarily to serve guests who are into outdoor activities while not needing fancy accommodation. Don’t expect it to be the newest and cleanest and you won’t be disappointed. It’s spacious, quiet and comfortable. I’ve happily stayed here before and absolutely would again.

It looks derelict, and certainly didn’t look like a hotel. The room wasn’t too bad but the bathroom was horrible, the toiletries had been used. and the windows didn’t lock properly. Never saw a member of staff so couldn’t complain, the key card was left out on the desk, and the key card holder included a warning to dead bolt the door and not open it without confirming who’s knocking. If I could I would have cancelled but I arrived late after a long drive from Vegas. Given all this we didn’t sleep and left the next morning without seeing anyone … just left the card on the desk ! The 10/10 reviews are clearly fake.

I booked last minute since it was a holiday weekend. The pool area is ‘fenced’ with some plywood and it looks like it has been that way for quite some time. The room itself while in surface looked clean but was not. The tub is stained and there is mold on the shower walls. The bed linens were stained including the comforter. Overall it worked for me as a hiker but as a traveler I would be very disappointed and would probably have moved hotels if anything else had been available. The plus side is the front desk staff was very friendly.

If i could give zero stars i would. They are manipulative as well as unfair. The room was ghetto and looked nothing like the furniture in the pictures. Rolling chairs were our “furniture”. Check in was a mess as they forced me to upgrade because i had two boys with me instead of one. Causing me to pay even more. After i left a review about the check in, the next day they kicked me out for it, charged me two nights instead of one and kept a deposit on top of it all. Meanwhile, i had to find another place to stay with my kids. Note to self. Write a review after leaving your booking. Parking was under construction also so the spaces were ridiculously tight and the entire place was dirty. Do not go there!
