Stayed in a 4-person room. Room was clean and tidy. Free parking was very helpful for my stay.

I had a mixed experience. The biggest drawback was the misleading advertisement about free parking. While the hostel does offer free parking, it’s on a first-come, first-served basis, and they don't have enough spots for everyone. One evening, I couldn't find a spot and was told that "free parking" doesn't mean unlimited parking, forcing me to find street parking. This was disappointing, especially since I booked the hostel specifically for the advertised free parking. I saw multiple other cars struggling to find parking that same evening.
Another major issue was the Wi-Fi. It was incredibly slow, making it nearly impossible to get any work done. I eventually had to find a coworking space. The water pressure in the showers was some of the weakest I've experienced, too.
On a positive note, the room itself was fine. For a hostel, it was comfortable and had all the basic amenities I expected. Overall, while the location and basic room comfort were good, the issues with parking, Wi-Fi, and water pressure would make me hesitant to stay here again.

Pretty good location, and an aesthetic kitchen, I enjoyed the energy and the party they threw. 10/10

Staff at reception were all friendly and helpful.
Room clean and tidy, the heater/aircon unit definitely needs upgrading asap.
I would stay again.

Nice hostel, with friendly helpful staff. I stayed in a private room which was basic but clean. Decent bedding and shower. The included breakfast was basic but good enough, and there was a great coffee shop across the road for which the hostel provided a discount voucher. The lobby area was quite small and was the only place to socialise or meet others, so this wasn’t the easiest place to meet others but I was able to meet a couple of people. There are socials advertised but these are run by another hostel and are a fair distance to travel to get to. Location was good - close to fisherman’s wharf and a bus route right outside. They also allowed luggage to be stored for a few days whilst I went out of town. Overall I’d recommend and would stay again.

I loved the cleanliness and friendliness of some staff, other staff was not so friendly. I absolutely loved my overall experience here - it was my first time staying at a hostel - but I was very much disappointed with the breakfast service. I think (1) it should be put out way more in advance since when I was there they set it at around 8am and I would've liked to leave to explore SF at 7am (2) i think it needs more variety

rooms are very clean and comfy, nice staff and good neighborhood :)

The room was noisy being right on Lombard, even with the sliding glass door to the balcony closed.

I really liked this hotel. The staff was friendly, it had a trendy feel to it, and it had off street parking in a garage which was included in the price. I would stay here again for sure.

Samesun is located in walking distance to Fisherman‘s Wharf. I felt safe in the area. The 4bed dorm with balcony was very big compared to other hostels I stayed in.
The enclosed bathroom wasn‘t the newest and cleanest. Breakfast was very simple, not for vegans unfortunately. Plastic cutlery and disposable cups are unfortunately not very contemporary.

Samesun is a great place to stay! Very clean, staff is helpful and courteous, feels safe and really nice that they have off-street parking. Amenities are limited as expected, but if you're cool with just the basics you'll have a great stay :)

The bunk bed was remarkably comfortable! i am partially disabled and had no hassle with my request for a lower bunk. check in/out was easy and the staff are great - especially Lucy. also, the way things are set up is smart - ergonomic, efficient. my favorite thing was the "lounge/patio" in a corner of the parking garage. this is right on an extremely busy street, so there is traffic noise, but that can't be helped. the silence after 11pm rule in dorm rooms makes a difference. having a balcony was cool! my only real complaint is that the disinfectant/cleanser they use is ubiquitous - it seems every hotel, restaurant, venue uses the same thing, the smell sticks in the sinuses and housekeeping is very diligent in applying it - liberally. at least one knows things are clean, right? all in all, i recommend this place highly. this is what hospitality is about.

Really, I didn’t expect such perfect location in SF, everything for tourism is very close by foot, also parking was my main reason to choose this place, team on reception very nice and professional, I had a big number with big bed and bathroom (like regular hotel number) it was clean & nice view from the window
So in total I will choose this location again and again every time in SF, appreciate you guys

I really enjoyed my stay here! I booked a bed in a 6-bed dormitory, but got upgraded to a private room with a queen bed! The hotel is a bit old, but kept very well and clean. The staff was great, and there is someone at the desk 24/7. The location is perfect, close to everything!

😊 Great budget place to stay, staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Room had everything needed and parking was easy.
☹️ Ran out of things at breakfast & noisy at night, guests on the floor above us could be heard moving around.

Likes - Staff was friendly, location and price can’t beat especially since parking is include. Dislikes - No one slept in their assigned bed , homeless people hanging out in lower garage .

I stayed for a Saturday night, in a single queen-bed room on the first floor. Clean, simple, and comfortable room, very quite. Super friendly and helpful staff. Very convenient luggage storage — I dropped off my bag a few hours before checkin, and was able to leave it for 6 hours after checking out then pick it up on the way out of town. Free parking was easy to use and never full, even on the weekend. Would definitely stay here again.
