The property is very colourful and has some cute details. From outside in green and easy to find and to see and my room had pink walls. From the rooftop interesting views. The property has also a generator and can run electricity if the power is cut-off, which happened very often. Avoid the hot humid days or be prepared. I was prepared and can cope with the heat. Unique is the owner Carlos, very friendly and good for a joke...and I have never seen before such a packed fridge with cool drinks (2 Eur each/May 2024). Communication in Spanish is necessary. Viazul Bus station is in walking distance. Carlos organized for my the taxi transfer to/from the Beach Faro Luna...and I am sure if you need something or need assistance during your trip he will assist you...be prepared if something does not work out..go with the flow and take it how it comes across. In general they do have big problems in Cuba with petrol, which drives the taxi prices higher.

Carlos was super friendly. A fab free fruit cocktail on day 2, and- above and beyond- he brought our forgotten cables and plug to the bus station. How super-lovely. :) :)
Breakfast was yum, and the roof terrace was a great cool area ( in both senses of the word). Wifi for about 20 minutes a day though, either c 8 am or 11 p.m. It seemed.
Highly recommend

Only two blocks walk to the central main avenue “Paseo del Prado”, the Casa de las Banderas” (the house with the many flags on the roof) is an excellent choice: a very nice and helpful host, a nicely tiled room with two beds (and excellent mattresses), a warm shower with good pressure, a little safe for your valuables and a cosy rooftop terrace. In the big fridge you find softdrinks and beers. Cienfuegos is by far the cleanest city we visited in Cuba and the walk along the Malecon to Punta Gorda is a must. At the end of the walk you can swim, have a nice lunch (quite cheap) and visit the hotel in Moorish style on the way back. The yellow villa on Punta Gorda used to be Fidel Castro’s favourite spot in Cienfuegos. He certainly knew where to look for a fine spot…

A lovely host and a beautiful place closed to all highlights of the city. Anytime again :)

The place to stay in Cienfuegos! The location of Carlo's casa is perfect to explore the centre whilst providing an oasis from the heat of the city. Carlo alone makes this place the perfect casa but the brilliant breakfasts and excellent rooftop terrace also help. Carlo gave great tips and helped to organise changing money and a collectivo to Trinidad via El Nicho for a great day in the national park. Couldn't recommend more! Thank you Carlo!

Loved Casa de Banderas and the location was superb! The only we had to get used to was leaving the light on for the staircase because it was very dark. If youre looking for somewhere near the boulevard this is for you! Carlos was very accommodating and had quite the personality!

Carlos was amazing when we stayed with him. The location was central in Cienfuegos, quiet and walking distance to sights, restaurants and tour agencies. The room was splendid: clean and well equipped. Everything works- the air condition, plugs, toilet, shower, safe. The beds were comfortable. There’s a really gorgeous terrace above the house where you can chill and relax.

The room was very clean and has everything you need, even a little balcony. My favorite place of the house was the rooftop terrace with a beautiful view other the city. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and within walking distance of the main attractions. Additionally, Carlos has been an amazing host. He was always available to answer all my questions and helped me organize trips and also a salsa class, which I enjoyed a lot and can recommend as well. Overall a really great place to stay. Thanks so much again!

Carlos is an amazing host and his casa is just incredible! He has very well stocked fridge and airy and well-maintained rooftop. He helped to arrange both trip to see flamingos (highly recommend) and very convenient transfer to Trinidad with stop at a waterfall. The breakfast was served in nearby friendly casa run by Roberto and it was just excellent. Very fresh juice. Even though I was a solo traveller both Carlos and Roberto made me feel like at home! Muchos gracias!

Carlos was the most helpful, caring and funniest host that I had during my stay in Cuba. The property has amazing roof terrace, it is perfectly clean and the room had everything I needed, even a small balcony. A must stay if you are in Cienfuegos!
