The room is a good size. You can control the heating. Great kitchen facilities if you want to self-cater. Spotlessly clean and well maintained. Attractive seating area outside which would be nice in warm weather.
Except for an email, had no contact with the owner.
It's a bit far from town so you need a car. It's a housing estate so not the best of surroundings but if you just need somewhere to sleep then that doesn't matter. It was very quiet except for the outside gate banging in the wind. Secured it more with the bottom bolt so it didn't bother me as much the second night. Bit mean with the toiletries, only hand soap in the shower room. Shower small but I have squeezed into smaller.

There was a designated parking space literally yards from the accommodation. The WiFi was excellent. There was ample hot water and the shower was powerful.
The Little Hideaway is NOT in the city centre but in a new housing estate on the outskirts of Truro. The accommodation is a wood-clad construction in the owner's back garden. It is self-contained and only accessible via the back gate, which is lockable. The city centre is within walking distance, but it is downhill, and climbing back to the accommodation is only possible if you're fit. No restaurants are nearby, and the Sainsbury and Tesco stores are a drive away.
As stated in another review, the property is unsuitable for disabled people; from the gate to the door, there are paving slabs set apart in gravel, and there is a step to go inside.
Before booking, we read many reviews that rated The Little Hideaway highly; in particular, they said the facilities were good; my husband and I disagree strongly. First, the accommodation is minimal, no more than a bedsit, there was no room for a sofa or armchairs which we have had in all the similar properties we have rented. When I raised this with the owner, he said we could use the chairs on the patio! Although they had cushions, they weren't very comfortable. By not going out every evening, we ate at the property and had to use the kitchen, which was not easy. Essential kitchen items were missing. There was no microwave; every other property we have rented has had one. There is very little space for washing-up to drain, and to make matters worse, a teatowel was not provided.
Furthermore, there was no oven glove to remove hot dishes from the oven. In the bathroom, there was no bathmat. The shower cubicle is relatively small; we're thin so there wasn't a problem but anyone overweight might have difficulties. In the shower, there was a ceramic soap dispenser lodged on top of the water and temperature control. We felt this was dangerous; if it had fallen it could have caused injury or worse still smashed into pieces causing cuts.

It was self catering/We were pleased there was a fridge.
The bolt at the bottom of the gate didn't work and a washing line would have been useful.

It was self catering, with excellent facilities in the kitchen.
All good

This was an ideal location for us to use as a base to explore the Cornwall area. It was also just a 15 minute walk into the city centre and close to shopping if needed. The size was perfect for a couple and very clean, comfortable, private and quiet. The owner was available to give assistance if needed.
Some items that might make the whole experience better, especially for longer stays, include larger bowls for food preparation, oven mitts, and perhaps a broom for tidying up during your stay.

Very pleasant new(ish?) built self contained chalet-type - very good quality construction. Lovely bathroom with WC, sink and shower. Well equipped and sufficient pots, pans, utensils, TV etc. BUT boiler starting/firing up noisy and intrusive. Boiler should be in a purpose built external compartment. Better layout would be to have midline wall with door to kitchen & bathroom. Overall very pleasant but (for winter season) pricey. Should be - for two people - £60 (low/ winter season), shoulder £80 (Easter/Bank Hols etc) £100 (high season) - but remember NO BREAKFAST as is self catering. Stay again ? No - because it's too pricy and we prefer conventional B&B with full English breakfast or 3* hotel. But potentially with a little tweaking and lower pricing could be 9 or 10/10. Good tho' !!
Noisy boiler !

It was fairly clean.
It was freezing cold in this room. Its middle of winter and heating switched off at 7. Had to get fan heater to get through the other 3 nights. No-one checked up on wether everything was OK. So yes disappointed

Cleaning had missed the food recycling from previous occupant.

This is a great place to stay - all the facilities you need, comfortable and great atmosphere listening to the rain on the skylight windows. Car parking space right outside. Also glad to find that WiFi was available. We could easily walk into Truro from this base. Top notch all round!
nothing significant - only minor point was some coat hooks would have been useful

Not often when booking accommodation that reality is better than the advertised photos! Secluded in a peaceful area the property was exceptionally clean with everything you needed. Your own personal parking space next to the entry gate was so convenient plus the outside seating area was an added bonus. Situated a short distance from Truro town centre it is close to all main road routes for each direction so perfectly located for touring Cornwall.

i didn’t stay there. I was told that it was disabled friendly but when I got there and opened the gate there was a gravel path with paving stones on top, which was no good for my electric wheelchair. plus there was a step up into what was essentially a shed in a residential back garden, and a long way from anywhere. xxx

We purposely picked something in Truro so we could nip in and out easily, choosing our destination of the day according to the (predictably changing) weather. So the location a little outside the town was even more suited, as we could reach A roads easily from there. The place is fully independent, super clean and has all it needs for people who are planning to be out most of the day (comfy bed, fridge, cooking devices, TV).
It wasn't obviously a problem then (I was probably too tired to be waken up by the light), but I think it would be great to have some shutters or blinds for the rooflights. It's lovely to wake up to the sound and sight of rain above the bed, but flexibility in choosing to have it or not would be a nice touch.

Location was excellent. Parking right by the gate. Room was very clean and well equipped. I really enjoyed outdoor sitting area.
Skyline windows need blinds,
It was unbearably hot in the night.. With outside temperatures lately during the day the cabin gets extremely hot and I wasn't comfortable keeping the door wide open overnight.. Probably small AC unit would be useful..
Missing bathroom bin and floor mat.

The room was very well equipped, and was incredibly clean.
The host was very helpful and had left milk, tea and coffee in the room.
There was an outside area where we could enjoy breakfast in the sun.
The location was excellent, within walking distance of town, the bus station and train station.
We stayed during an extremely hot week. The room has skylights which provide lots of natural light, and which currently have no blinds on them. This meant that the room was extremely hot when we returned in the evening. There is a fan and we were able to leave the door open which helped a bit.

Ideal little hideaway close to Truro.
Comfortable bed and had everything we needed.
Sky lights very bright in morning. They would benifit from having blinds added.

Ideal location. Comfy bed. Milk left in the fridge for us on arrival.
Attentive host. Good value for money.
Happen to stay on the hottest day of the year, so quite warm in the room. However on contacting the host he responded straight away and covered to sky lights which helped.

Excellent facilities, quiet location and very warm hospitality
