Llagas Valley
Llagas-Uvas is an unincorporated census county division (CCD) located on the eastern side of the Santa Cruz Mountains in southwest Santa Clara County, California.[3] The area covers approximately 102 square miles (260 km2), much of it open space [4] and contains the Uvas and Chesbro reservoirs, as well as the Calero, Uvas Canyon, Rancho Cañada del Oro,[5] and Mount Madonna county parks.
As a result of the favorable Mediterranean climate, there are many wineries in the area, including Dorcich Family Vineyards, Sycamore Creek, Martin Ranch, Hecker Pass, Fernwood Cellars, Fortino, Kirigin Cellars, Solis, and Sarah's Vineyard. There are also several equestrian centers in the area, including Calero Ranch Stables, Cevalo Riding Academy, Five Star Farms, Great Strides, Hidden Creek, Legacy Oaks, and Bodfish Creek Ranch.
As of the 2010 US Census, the population was 4,014 residents, of whom 67.1% were non-Hispanic white, 20.1% Hispanic, 8.5% Asian, and 4.3% of other races, with a median age of 45.5 years old.[6] As of 2009, the median income was $104,378, and the median home price was $991,773.[7]
Apart from the communities of Sveadal and Loma Chiquita, most residents and businesses in the area use postal zip codes from neighboring cities of Morgan Hill, San Martin, or Gilroy. The telephone area codes are 408 and 669.

Beautiful location in the hills above Morgan Hill. The home was very comfortable and well equipped. The hosts were very welcoming and it was nice meeting the whole family, including the pup, Teddy. The pool could use some upgrading, but overall it was very clean and we really enjoyed the hot tub. The entire getaway was very enjoyable.

Stayed for night before and wedding night, myself and Best Man(son, 28). Never received an email about checking in until hours after checking in. Owner complained about having 2X vehicles. At check-in, advised we were there for my wedding and Wife would be there 2nd night and groomsman would be over before the wedding to get dressed. Later complained about the 3 others present for 2 hours, said no parties aloud, what a joke. The picture looks nice, but the pool/hot tub were unkept and not very inviting, yard was messy. Then when we returned the wedding night, we were locked out of the entry gate and no reply from on-site host. These people should not be "Hosts"

Once you get past the beautiful scenery, daily deer sightings, and the beautiful home, you have to take time to visit with Teddy he’s the Yorki in charge of the property, so friendly. While you enjoy the beautiful weather in a stunning home, you may get a chance to visit with Sophie. She’s the 18 month old little girl who never stops smiling. What you get when you stay with these folks, is a beautiful setting, in a family environment. A rare gift these days, we will be back.

Difficult to access property on my arrival - locked gate.
No one answered buzzer or camera doorbell at gate. I had to walk up steep hill to get cellular service, after traveling since 4:30a. I checked and the most recent (or any email from VRBO) did not provide gate access number. I went down to the gate to ring the house again. No answer and walked up driveway again, and female owner came out her back door.
After getting access to unit, I told her it was ice cold, my husband and myself had medical conditions and needed a comfortable temp, but female owner insisted it was "warm". (I waited in her WARM/COMFORTABLE house while she vacuumed sofa - so I know she knew she was lying. I was be gaslighted. She was warm we were expected to freez)
Filthy conditions. Pool, jacuzzi, deck were all filthy. She initially did some vacuuming of heavily soiled couch and begged me to let her 'make it right". I was threatened by the owner that she would not give refund and I'd have to pay her and the hotel. I'm in my 70's, just had surgery, have medical issues, had been traveling all day and was exhausted. I did not feel that I could carry my suitcases down the three flights of stairs and get them into the car so I stayed. It is a remote area and I just couldn't do all the lifting (especially after walking up that steep driveway twice to get the code for the gate.
Next day I saw other cleanliness issues and she had her housekeeper come in to do more cleaning.
Housekeeper discovered that one of the toilets was not working that night and told the owners. The toilet was not fixed by the time I left 6 days later, even though the female owner said that she would have a plumber come on Monday. (Like a fool, I told her not to pay after hour fees on weekend, and we could wait until Monday. Then they wanted to disrupt our stay to 'look' at the toilet, not bring a plunger to fix it.)
We booked this unit for relaxation and privacy. On Sunday, workmen came and for three hours made deafening noise power washing/buffing concrete pool/jacuzzi decking . We were not asked or given any noticed. We had not said anything to anyone about the decking, so it was not as a result of anything we instigated. Completely disrespectful.
Jacuzzi was not heating from first day I arrived. She would actually turn on the lights and jets, knowing the jacuzzi would not heat up. Then things got worse. Intrusion of workmen last day of stay. No help from VRBO. Still unresolved.

The hosts of this property were absolutely wonderful. They were communicative and happy to help with our needs. The property was clean today was exactly what we were looking for. I would highly recommend this property to anyone staying in the area

The place is great and all that others have said it was - but the communication left a lot to be desired. To be honest I am used to other services where hosts respond to questions quickly and accurately. This seems to be a situation where the hosts are in a bit over their heads - read their other services reviews which I wish I had done before booking, .
To be fair the owners were more helpful once we were there, although we had to ask for help from friends in SF to find out what was going on when the power went out before the owner responded. They did refund one night of our stay when we agreed to leave early which was very gracious of them.
Pros:
-the pool house is large, overall clean and very private and quiet.
-The bed is the most comfortable we have ever slept in
-while it’s quiet and remote it’s very near town and great restaurants
Cons:
- Communication with the owners was problematic and difficult. Some of this is on VRBO as they said we would have check-in info over the weekend and the owner did not feel comfortable with that. But seriously how likely are 2 70–year olds going to come and storm your gate?
-home was clean but some items left undone, like dirty soap in the shower and used K-cups in the Keurig which was also not clean.
-and to that point - who has a Keurig AND DOESNT leave at least a couple of K cups for the guests? We don’t own a Keurig so we didn’t bring k cups and had to go out and buy them. If the place was a discounted price I might understand but it’s not.
-biggest issue was over the pool. I confirmed before we booked that they would heat the pool, only to find out on our last day that the heater was broken. The owner denied saying the pools would.be heated until I showed her a screenshot of her husband confirming it would be heated for our stay. We chose this property specifically for the heated pool and they knew that, but they never checked before we arrived that the heater worked. Until I showed the screen shot the owner maintained they never said the pool was heated.
We left early per agreement and left the place spotless - we took tons of pictures to show how clean we left it stripped beds, put sheets and towels in hampers and totally cleaned the kitchen.
Overall I will likely not book with VRBO again as you don’t get as robust reviews and certainly not much info about how the owners handle problems.

The Managers live on-site, this is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath pool house with a small kitchen. I would recommend and when I’m in town next, I’ll stay there again for sure!
