The house is beautiful, beds comfortable , and the kitchen is well stocked. We rented the boat and thoroughly enjoyed Lake Blue Ridge. The owners were very responsive. Thank you!

Cool cabin in a very private area. Off the beaten path, it is an adventure to reach this area! So fun- Absolutely loved it. Quaint cabin decorated exactly to our taste… top notch experience!

We really enjoyed our get away, the views were amazing, the house was accommodating, the lake was fabolous, and we very much enjoyed the boat!!

We stayed here as a family of five with three kids under seven and had a blast. The house has plenty of living space and separate quarters for parents and adults. They did not cheap out on bedding either, both queen beds were incredibly comfortable. The house location on the lake is perfect, not too much boat traffic and deep water right off the dock for endless entertainment for the kids. Owners were a 10/10 with responsiveness and communication, we plan to come back next summer!

We spent Thanksgiving weekend with our family including our 91 year old mother at this charming lake house. There were a couple glitches due to circumstances outside of the owners control and they bent over backwards to make accommodations. Overall a lovely experience!

Such a cute cabin and perfect for our girls trip. The cabin was adorable and the owners were great at communicating and very accommodating. The road to the cabin was a little intimidating (which I think is typical for cabin rentals) but completely worth it once we arrived and we have a wonderful time!

I would say the owners of the cabin treat you like a guest in their home. The items provided from towels to pots n pans are first class. It was a perfect of a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and relax. Hoping we will be able to come stay there again.

It was a lovely family vacation and it being at the end of the road in the forest was perfect. Good walking roads and quiet on the lake. Owners easy to communicate with - we will definitely return.

Our trip was with another couple just to visit. The location was off the beaten path, but worth the effort! Right on the lake with a very nice boat dock to swim from. Everything about Blue Canoe was as advertised. Plenty of dishes, cookware and appliances and towels for swimming. We heartily recommend this VRBO and would go back. But there are a LOT of stairs.

We had four toddlers and four adults at The Blue Canoe this weekend and had a wonderful time. The host was *INCREDIBLE* in terms of response time and communication. The home is lovely and tastefully decorated. The location is on a quiet part of the lake but it was still close to the main part of the lake. We highly recommend renting the boat because that was our favorite part of the weekend. Make sure to get out to the middle of the lake for the best views of the sunsets!
Two things to note: We lost power both nights, so bring flashlights. Luckily the power was returned quickly. Also, the house has a very steep staircase going to the bottom level, so it isn't the safest for toddlers.
Still, we loved the experience and would love to go back!

This is a great, well appointed, rustic (in a good way), modern renovated cabin with terrific views. It is located on a private part of the lake with a fantastic boat dock. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy the lake and Blue ridge area.

The trip was amazing. The property was beautiful, and we loved the dock. We could easily rent the boat at the dock, and this allowed us a beautiful day on the lake. The house was so clean, and we had access to the grill, too. If we could rent it for the week, we would.

Overall very nice Cabin. Very Comfortable.
Our party were 4 adults. This homes bed rooms is perfect for 4 adults and several bunks for children.
The only downside are the steps from main to downstairs.are extremely steep, more like a ladder/stairway. Parking is very limited. Best for 2 cars or u spend time jockeying cars around. The road to cabin is on a ridge, beautiful, but is a one car road. Be ready for backing up to a turnout when meet an oncoming car. Many blind curves so go slow. No mirrors to assist the drivers. No yard for dogs but not a big deal to us.
Need blackout curtains on lower level. Because With the gorgeous open lake view comes expansive windows and there is lots of sun in am .
Kitchen was nice. We would have liked long tongs and mitts for the grill and handling of hot pans.
The owner was super nice and communicative.
So just need to go thru his supply list and bring the extras you need.
Nice updated cabin, nice dock and super well maintained pontoon boat to rent.
We will be back .

My children, their spouses, my grandson, and my sweet wife had an incredibly wonderful…spectacular 4day/3 night stay at Blue Canoe. All the amenities were just perfect…rental of the pontoon made the trip complete. We will rebook this property!!

This home is just perfect. It has a ton of great areas in a compact space. But it doesn’t live small. It’s open with views on top of views. My favorite time was dawn on the porch listening to the birds greeting the day. The peace and quiet of this area is so calming. Love it. Hope to return!

We booked this property for a family getaway for myself, my husband, our toddler and our dog. We had a wonderful time. The property is gorgeous, and despite the many balconies and stairs, the main level was baby-proofed and well-suited for a roaming toddler. We also appreciated that we were able to bring our dog on this trip, and she had a wonderful time lounging on the dock with us. Overall, the house itself is perfect for a family vacation. The rooms were clean and the kitchen and grilling area were stocked with all the essentials. We cooked or grilled every night. Beyond the house, the dock is beautiful and perfect for a late night glass of wine and stargazing. Because of the kiddo, we actually didn't even use any of the boating equipment, but there is plenty there. We ended up hiking most days around the area. There are plenty of amazing trails within a few miles. Overall, this property is gorgeous and perfectly suited for a family getaway. We will be sure to come back again!

We loved driving out to this cabin because even though we were only 15 mins from civilization, we felt like we were alone in the woods. Had a wonderful time exploring the lake and reading by the fire.

The Blue Canoe is a just-as-advertised, luxurious and charming cabin with panoramic views of Lake Blue Ridge. The weather was perfect for our stay in late March. The beds are comfortable, the bedding nice, and the place was the perfectly clean. Browse the boutiques in downtown Blue Ridge, fly fish for trout, and return to the Blue Canoe for dinner (stocked kitchen, thank you!) and a movie. Enjoyed a cup of coffee (in a custom Blue Canoe mug) and lake views each morning. WiFi was better than my house. Hosts were easy to access. Thank you!

The entire experience was FABULOUS for the Blue Canoe Cabin. Well-appointed, clean, spacious and cozy.
Saw bald eagles and star gazed from the dock upper deck. No complaints but we could not find the “ blue canoe”. Found the blue oars (that’s a joke folks). We will rent this cabin again.

Cozy cabin with incredible view. 20+ mons to Downtown Blue Ridge.

Cozy lake house. Plenty of space for our family. The drive up may be a bit intimidating for those used to flat lands like us Floridians, but breathtaking all the same. The lake is just beautiful. Definitely recommend the pontoon ride . Close to town and restaurants. Definitely a great escape from the craziness.

The lights were on for us when we arrived and we were welcomed by a beautifully appointed and well stocked cabin! Spices, candles, cozy blankets, kayaks… Everything we needed for a great weekend getaway. We (four adults) enjoyed the comfy lounge areas on both levels. The steps to the lower level are a bit steep for those not so agile, but the main floor has everything but the laundry room right there. The drive to the cabin follows a narrow and winding dirt/gravel road toward the end. Just follow the directions provided and you’ll be fine. The views of the lake were lovely sunrise to sunset, with outdoor lighting at the dock and fire pit at night. We had fun bird watching and kayaking, and enjoyed the fireplace (for ambiance), fire pit (for s’mores!), and coffee on the balcony. Communication was excellent and we received really helpful suggestions for wineries and restaurants in the area. Oh, and the games! There are many options provided to keep you entertained if it rains. Town, hiking, wineries, etc, are a short drive, but you might not want to leave! Can’t say enough good things. Thanks so much Blue Canoe!

Property is beautiful. October was a great month to visit. Little traffic on road, lake was calm. The house is wonderful with all the huge windows. Great dock for fishing and kayaks for kids to enjoy. We would definitely visit again.
