Great location a short bus trip or drive into York, shops in walking distance, everything you need

The holiday home was perfect for what we needed (a base to travel into York from). It is extremely close to a bus stop and a short walk to local amenities in Acomb (including supermarket and bakery/cafe) and also West Bank park. We will be recommending to friends and family.

Lovely location, minutes from local shops. Quiet little village.

Lovely Cottage. Great location.
Smelled of stale smoke or recent painting. Needs some air fresheners. Lockbox not operator friendly .

Clean, pleasant quiet property. Comfortable beds making a comfortable stay. Close to a supermarket and other shops, with easy access to a bus route into York.
Cooking facilities were a little basic, but four of us managed. There is no oven. It is a little far out for the city. We walked into the centre approx 30min.then caught a bus back.

The property was lovely and clean and well equipped for our 2 night stay. The beds were very comfortable. My Mum, who is 88 years of age stayed with us and this property suited her as it was nice and flat and roomy. It was very quiet and had a lovely outside seating area too. Good location. Our plan was to visit York, and rather than driving in and having the hassle of parking we got a taxi for £10 each way for this location.

We had a lovely stay at Green Street Retreat. We are a family of four two adults and two children (aged 12 and 9) and we had plenty of room. Kids had their own room (two single beds).Modern and spacious bungalow. Spotless. Comfortable beds, nice bathroom, big TV. About £10 in a taxi to Yorkminster, but was told there was a bus-stop outside that the hosts said went to town. Morrisons round the corner. Quiet and private. Small air fryer was handy for bacon butties in the morning. Good communication from hosts.
Nothing. would have been handy to have an oven (but there was a job and microwave) if we were staying a bit longer, but for two nights it wasn’t a problem.

Lovely big rooms, handy parking and friendly hosts. First time in York and we were very impressed.
Didn't like the smell of smoke, which lingered on our clothes after we left.

Lovely place! The best thing for us was how quiet and peaceful it was - perfect for a relaxing break. The 'apartment' is actually a small detached bungalow, very comfortable and cosy with everything we needed. Although it's at the end of the owner's garden we didn't feel any issues with privacy at all. Would love to come back one day.
Nothing really, the location is about 1.5 miles from the city centre so not the most convenient for sightseeing (we were traveling by public transport), but that's the price you pay for peace and quiet! Slight smell of smoke as is often the case in these places.

Very comfy and good for exploring York and surrounding area. Clean and well appointed with everything needed for your stay. Morrisons and an excellent Chinese takeaway very close indeed.
It's in the host's garden so privacy could be seen as a bit lacking, especially when sitting on the verandah.

The place was clean and comfortable, there was plenty of room two bedrooms one way double beds and one with twin beds. It has good public transportation to go into the city if you don't want to walk but we have done the city many times now. Just be aware this is an out building at the back of the owners garden, but she very receptive and helpful.
No buit in oven or hob but there is a portable hob, airfyer and microwave plus a portable oven. No onsuite to main bedroom but this is in the description.

This was a perfect and private little escape. We wanted to do some sightseeing in York. We went to see a show and to visit Castle Howard. It was a great location. The accommodation was clean, warm and comfortable. The host was very quick to reply to any queries and there was a little "welcome" pack in the fridge. The garden was great too. Even in the cold weather, our children enjoyed running about and playing on the swings. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone looking for somewhere to stay.

Ideal location for what we wanted to do during our stay. Everything we needed was there plus somewhere to park the car. On a bus route to the city centre which was very useful.
We were happy with it all.

The property was very clean and some carpets were brand new. A welcome pack including eggs, bread and milk was very nice on arrival. Property was quiet in a residential area. Beds were very comfy. Heating in bedrooms and bathroom was adequate with electric heaters. The host was very responsive to our requests/queries. Free parking on site.
Very small electric heater in the main sitting/kitchen area and this was not enough to feel warm despite having it on all night and day. Would not stay there in the middle of winter....
Funny smell lingering in the living room, not sure if someone had being smoking before, was unpleasant.
Wifi code was hidden behind a black box, had to ask the host. Would be good to tell us on arrival in a message or put it more obvious.
Cooking is very limited with only 2 electric portable hobs and tiny pan/saucepans, no oven just microwave, however host was very quick to provide us with a woke to cook that evening when requested. No salad bowls, no large container for cooking for 3 or 4 people really. However there was an Air Cooker/fryer supplied, I just do not how to use it yet.
Access is through the host's garden so it felt a bit intrusive every time we went in or out of the property.

Great place to say, close to York City centre as well as the local shops at the end of the street. The place was large, well equipped and comfortable. Nice big beds too.
The only downside was the cigarette smell, which was pretty strong and lingered on our clothes for days afterwards

A tiny house on its own with all you need. Great space, beds, modern tv, kitchen with all you need, fridge (with complimentary bread milk and eggs). Great large bathroom weith bath and shower. Nice spot near the centre but outside the busy tourist streets. And we got a great tip from the host for the best fish & chips in the area. Yummie...

Lovely apartment, nice and clean and access to a swingset which our 2yr old daughter loved.
Nothing at all, perfect.

The property offered a terrace and a play area for younger kids. The fridge was stocked with all breakfast requirements and tea/coffee. One nice big king size bed and a second room with two single beds. Comfy lounge area. The location was an easy drive into York City Centre. Own access. Would definitely recommend. Felt as it we had found a little gem! Easy communication with hosts.

Clean and modern. Everything we needed for our stay, Nice welcome pack, shops and cafes nearby. Young kids enjoyed the garden play area. Busses outside to York, but we walked (35mins to the Railway Museum.)

Lovely space with LOTS of mirrors. Having a smart tv is defo a great plus. Thank you for the WiFi. It was a pleasant surprise but should be listed.
Clean, comfortable spacious and just an overall positive experience.
Very minor- no washing machine. Not enough cooking utensils. Would still stay here next time we go to York.
Not very central: BUT bus stop is just a few steps away and lots of local shops nearby.
